This is where you need first hand information. When Islamic schools are teaching Islam in Detroit, in an Arabic language, there is no attempt at integration. These are clanish people and they are staying that way. In California and Texas, where it is Mexican and South Americans, legal and illegal, most actually try to assimilate if for no other reason than to keep from getting caught. I used to have a rental property in Dearborn. Neighborhood was filled with GM retiree's. As they died off the middle easterners moved in. No one in the neighborhood now speaks English and I have sold the place. I am all for legal immigration, with the condition that they have to speak English, or take English lessons until they can speak English as a condition of citizenship. That is exactly what they do in Poland. If you cant speak a little Polish, you wont survive outside of the big cities.
