the experience of many people during the Reagan Era would seem to contradict what you say.

Whenever reports come over the air waves touting general job growth, it's never reported in
which sectors is there simultaneously job loss as well.

I too remember those reports you mention and wondered why I was employed while friends with
even more advanced degrees than I were jobless for years, often never recouping to their previous
level or not coming even close for practically a decade.

Journalism is never objective. It never really was and what with Murdoch's overtaking the Wall St. Journal,
reporting has gotten so skewed it's barely worth reading, save for with a magnifying glass and a sharp pair
