Cold War

Oh the good old days. Back then, exchanges took place in the fog on some bridge between Eastern and Western Germany.

@Alien
Bridge of Spies, a great movie.

AntV

I loved the way he put that vile ABC activist pretending to be a reporter in her place..

She was terrible.

Trump needs to be more zeroed in on the issues though. He needs to attack Harris on issues-not that she failed the bar and stupid stuff like that. He could have done much better yesterday.

Novichok
1 Aug 2024  #334

Trump needs to be more zeroed in on the issues ...

...and repeat:

Kamala's invasion. Joe's inflation.
Kamala's invasion. Joe's inflation.
Kamala's invasion. Joe's inflation.
Kamala's invasion. Joe's inflation.

That's it. Nothing else in needed...

But from her point of view the communication is also simple

I'm friendly and optimistic, he's crazy and angry.

AntV
1 Aug 2024  #336

I'm friendly and optimistic, he's crazy

But, she isn't and neither is he.

This campaign is about issues. It's going to come down to whether Trump can show how terrible she'll be and how good he'll be, and whether Harris can avoid talking about the issues.

Hence, Trump talking about Harris failing the bar or being Indian is useless.

Novi is right, just say kamala invasion, kamala inflation over and over and over. Trump has to ferret Harris out-the media won't.

Inflation is 3 percent, wage increases are 4 percent.

If that's Trump's best card then it's a strange one to fight an election on.

Anyone who really cares about the border will already be in the Trump column - it's a big issue but probably not a vote winner

Bobko
1 Aug 2024  #338

Inflation is 3 percent

That's in aggregate, across the whole consumer basket. Some items have seen inflation in excess of 15-20% (among these, many food items).

cms neuf
1 Aug 2024  #339

Yes of course - and some have seen falling prices. Remarkably enough I understand how an inflation basket works.

Not sure what Trump's tactic is to fight inflation ? Raise interest rates ? Reduce tariffs ? Cut the money supply ? He usually leans in the opposite direction from that

AntV
1 Aug 2024  #340

As Bobko says.

Americans care most about food, gas, and housing costs. Those prices are generally inflated over the past 4 years at a higher than 3% rate.

As far as the 4% wage increase, wages are still lagging behind real-feel inflation.

I'm not saying the economy is all bad, but the average American is feeling the pinch when it comes to covering the day-to-day.

Not sure what Trump's tactic is to fight inflation ?

That's a good question. Resuming more energy production will alleviate some of it. But, right now, from a campaign standpoint, it's about assigning the sitting admin the responsibility for it.

Novichok
1 Aug 2024  #341

That's a good question.

Here is a good answer...

Print less money!

Bobko
1 Aug 2024  #342

Print less money!

Definitely not something Trump would do.

The only thing that saved Trump from being the most "generous" president in history, is that Biden came right after and was even more "generous".

These two guys are the same, when it comes to the deficit.

I mean, Trump literally sent me a $1,000 check with his signature on it. Because I am a conscientious Russian, I did not cash it, though I would have loved to go and drink it all away with my friends over a weekend.

Trumps checks are what kept consumer sentiment up through like 6 quarters.

The entire economy is one big balloon, but what saves you Americans is that you control the printing machine.

Miloslaw

Print less money!

A great point!

"Quantitative Easing" they call it.....

Stealing your money is a more honest term.

AntV
1 Aug 2024  #344

Print less money!

Agreed!!

I mean, Trump literally sent me a $1,000 check

Was that the covid stuff? He managed that not well at all.

His energy and (some) of his trade policies were good, but he wasn't the great economic guy he says he was.

I have a few problems with him, but he is exponentially better than Kommielala.

Novichok
1 Aug 2024  #345

The entire economy is one big balloon,

...a debt-based joke...

Let me defend Kamala for a moment...

Being an empty vessel, she is likely to call the best econ brains to the WH and say this:

Guys, I am just a DEI nobody so I know shlt about the economy ... hahahahahahahahaha ... You are the brains so tell me what to do.

Compare this to Trump...

I am the CEO so I know everything, including the economy. I will call you if I ever need you. OK?

So in this case, Trump should easily win the debates

Miloslaw
1 Aug 2024  #347

And today dumbo Trump challenges Harris's race. (Why Donald did you feel that necessary ????)

I couldn't agree more!What is the point?????

It is a sad day in America when it's citizens have two worthless candidates to choose from.

Blimey, this must be a first! I have just agreed with two comments on just one of your posts!

How can Democrats vote for a woman if they don't know what "woman" is?

Does Kamala know what a woman is?

That first black woman on the US Supreme Court didn't

Miloslaw
1 Aug 2024  #349

Does Kamala know what a woman is?

Like all woke lefties, she will be confused by that question and won't be able to answer the question " Can a person with a penis be female?"

Bridge of Spies

It's a pity that Navalny didn't survive, otherwise they would have exchanged him for some russian spy.

Income is up because minimum wage laws have had those wages lifted considerably, and not because of income growth in most sectors. A 4% increased comes nowhere close to the almost doubling of home costs in the last four years. Legislating wage increases is not building an economy. California is the perfect example. Raise the minimum wage to $20 an hour, and the employer cuts the hours because the increase is not cost sustainable.

Anyone been to a McDonalds lately? Size of items has been reduced by 20%, while prices have been increased by close to 25% over the last three years. And in Poland you now have to pay for a cup to get your coffee or drink in. Yes, a fee for a cup. This will soon be in the US.

Kamala will keep the US involved in, and probably increase its participation in wars. She will allow the invasion to continue, and will spend more money than any democrat in history. She would divide the country even further. And she IS NOT black! She is fvcking indian, yet the leftist press likes to go back and forth on it to pander to as many stupid voters as possible.

@PolAm
The Market was down over 500 points yesterday and it looks like it is going to take another huge hit today.
biden's policies failed and the Market is reflecting that.
The tide is going out at the best time that it possibly could and they can't blame it on Trump this time.
Working America is starting to pay attention to inflation and the devaluation of their money.
obama's first, second and third term was to spend our way out of debt and the bootlickers fell for it.
The Swamp (The Shadow State) has/is destroying our country which is their goal.
TRUMP 24' !

Novichok

She will allow the invasion to continue, and will spend more money than any democrat in history.

The US, like any drunk, has to quit drinking or die.

Ultimately, voters get what they want and politicians do what gets them elected.

The Swamp (The Shadow State) has/is destroying our country which is their goal.

As an objective of a side effect?

Even China doesn't want the US destroyed. They want Taiwan.

Harris starting to pull ahead in the polls. Going to be an interesting month

Novichok

Trump would win if not for the record of what he and the RINOs did not do when they were in charge in 2017 and 2018.

It's reasonable to assume they would not do it again.

cms neuf
2 Aug 2024  #356

If the Republicans replaced Trump as candidate they would win easily.

Lots of people are sick of the sight of him and the sound of his voice and his huge ego. Harris is not a strong candidate but she is likable and she is making progress by laughing off all Trump's childish insults

Novichok
2 Aug 2024  #357

by laughing off all Trump's childish insults

Picking on her being black is beyond stupid. What the fvck does that have to do with a 40 trillion dollar debt, back-breaking inflation, open borders, and pushing the US into a direct war with Russia...

If she wants to play that "I am black" card, let her and get another million votes from those who don't like blacks based on their accomplishments in NY, Chicago, and Baltimore, to name a few...

Everything blacks touch turns into shlt. Even they know it...

Good post, cms.

Alien

replaced Trump

Is there anyone reasonable available?

Bobko
2 Aug 2024  #359

Nikki Haley went the longest distance, but still had very unimpressive poll numbers.

On the other hand, it would be really funny to watch two Indians fight for the US presidency (though Harris is only half Indian).

Indians are everywhere at this point. Sundar Pichai is CEO of Google. Satya Nadella at Microsoft. Arvind Krishna at IBM. Raj Subramaniam at FedEx, and so on and so forth.

The British elected themselves an Indian prime minister.

Ajay Banga is head of the World Bank. Gita Gopinath is deputy head of the IMF.

People are worried about the Jews controlling everything, buts it's actually the Indians 😂.

Would be also very funny if an Indian becomes president before a Jew ever won the presidency or vice presidency. The last Jew to run was Lieberman, and that was for VP.

Candidate Novi: All non-whites...OUT!

The end is near when a state is at war with the feds. See Texas.

The fence Texas sets up to protect the state and the country, the feds dismantle instead of making it bigger, better, and more deadly...
