I'm not and I'm sure there are many like me. I've travelled extensively and do not struggle following signs to my departure gate. Neither do I walk in the middle of the pavement and being an experienced hiker I somehow manage to navigate hiking trails without p!ssing people off. I can even read maps! It's a miracle! Words fail me......

Like Feniks, I don't recognize the kind of woman you describe - is it an American thing?? Never in my life have I allowed a door to slam shut behind me in somebody's face - though I've been on the receiving end of that in Poland plenty of times from both sexes. I've also seen the 'stop in the middle of the pavement' thing in Poland with both sexes. Actually men are worse than women in that respect.

Maybe it's because I'm from a small country with narrow spaces. You just grow up learning to weave your way around other people. Being taught basic manners and awareness of others also helps.

I remember once, on a typically narrow pavement in a small Irish town, being forced off the path onto the street by a young couple who didn't go into single file as they passed, as we usually do in Ireland. No prizes for guessing their nationality - Polish.
