2016 Presidential Elections in the US

Trump will lose against Clinton though, because it is bleeding obvious that he cannot keep his promises.

Clinton will tear him apart. When Trump's biggest challengers are a ridiculously conservative conservative (Cruz) that his own party isn't even behind and "rehearsed this speech and repeated it 1000 times" Rubio - it's easy to see why he's ahead. Clinton on the other hand has a huge, huge amount of experience in politics - and she has two popular Presidents to advise and guide her.

She is also a criminal who cannot make it a year without a new scandal.

Quick list:

Filegate - obtaining info on GOP opponents
IRS - Hilary using the IRS against opponents
Benghazi and Libya
Landing under sniper fire lie during the Bosnian/Kosovo War in the 90s
Illegal senate and campaign contributions including downplaying the price of hosting a gala and keeping the profits
Making nearly 10,000% return on investment through cattle futures despite having no personal investment experience
Accepting nearly $100,000 from an Iranian named Hassan Nemazee who ran a nearly $300 ponzi scheme - was proven to be connected with the Iranian government
Peter Franklin Paul - previous supporter of Clinton who exposed her hiding $2mil in senate contributions and was promptly sent to prison for that
Hilary's former chief of staff (forget her name) was conneted to the Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda..
Most recently lying about her emails getting hacked

this list goes on and on..

We may disagree on which politician is best for the job. However, I think it safe to say most people can agree that Hillary Clinton's political career has been full of scandals and or at least that she is a compulsive liar. Even with the email thing, first she denies, denies, denies and hopes the media will just move on and forget about it (typically her tactic when she is implicated in a scandal) but sometimes she is forced to tell the truth which is of course different from her original denial that her emails were hacked.

Do you realize how many people are employed by America's bloated defense budget? Also, a lot of that money is sent abroad like $30 annually to Israel for their weapons.

There are countless people employed in defense from engineers, software developers, managers, programmers, welders, machine operators, painters, gun smiths, all the designers of weapon systems, controls, etc. sales persons, lobbyists, and middle men, the list goes on and on.

Abrams tanks aren't made in China - they are made in the US in Lima, Ohio!

I'm quite frankly surprised that the liberals don't love wars. It's the best way to get a country into further debt. Screw 'affordable' healthcare, let's just start a war and make the debt even higher.

...'Murica

I personally would rather my tax dollars go to building a new aircraft carrier which will in turn employ thousands than my tax dollars to some one who essentially refuses to work because it is more economical to sit at home on a cornucopia of government benefits - welfare, SNAP, section 8, rent assistance, utility assistance, head start, medicare, and now they even give free cell phones to these people! When does it end?! How about taking some responsibility instead of relying on tax payer funding, err cough, I meant FREE, programs?

In Illinois, a study was done that if a single mother with 1 child and no job applies for every possible government program that she is eligible for it will be equivalent as if she made $50,000 a year before taxes. I personally don't know too many single mothers making over $50k a year unless they're strippers or something.

The US has 9800 there at the moment with a planned drop to 5800 in 2017.

Now look up how many American "Private Contractors" have been deployed to Afghanistan in the last year.

That's a business decision.

I was referring to how many mercenaries from "Private Military Company's" like DNYCORP (formally Black Water), KBR, GK Sierra, G4S and all the others that have deployed private mercenaries into Iraq and Afghanistan in the last year alone. That kind of American Private Contractors.
You would be shocked.
Trump will lose against Clinton though,

We sure hope not now don't we.
Who you voting for TheOther or are you not a U.S. citizen yet ?

Regarding democracy it is working in the US right now with Trumps campaign, problem is its working on the ignorant stupid people. Somebody commented that Trump grows on the ignorant like fungus on a tree.

Trump is news, thats why he's getting so much coverage and if this keeps happening he will be the next president of the USA.

The Scottish Yes vote was lost by propaganda, the online polls (completed by people who use the internet i.e younger people) had the yes voters ahead by about 4%, the official Polls had the no voters ahead by around 3%. The No vote won by around 6% in the end i think, this was a direct result of a fear mongering campaign by the Conservatives putting the notion forward that the British government couldn't guarantee Scottish pensions should they lose power. Basically it was the old, the ignorant and the scared who voted No. Were witnessing the same thing in USA politics right now.

Make America great again, deport illegal immigrants, bring jobs back...What a load of BS.

Interesting how Trump has been deafeningly quite on climate change, its common knowledge that he's a man made climate change denier.

It is, but the low education masses are obviously falling for it. Even if he wins, his plans will never come to fruition.
The America he remembers from his youth has long gone, and you can't turn back time.

He knows better so why give it publicity that it does not deserve.
Another good reason to vote for him.

Sanders is the only option but they're all powerless anyway. Politicians should not be ruling the planet, scientists should, politics doesn't work.

I personally wish we had a Putin type of figure in the US. One thing that really bugs me though is that everyone gets their panties in a bunch about building a wall between the US and Mexico (getting Mexico to pay for it sounds kind of ludicrous but I am no expert on the financial aspect of border security) but no one mentions that Mexico built a wall between their border and Guatemala to keep the Guatemalans out. A country has a right to defend its borders and sovereignty.

I personally have no issue with Mexicans in the US. As a Polish Catholic, I feel I identify more with Mexican Americans than any other large immigrant group here in Chicago. An interesting situation occurred in Alabama a while back. The citizens essentially forced their politicians to be tough on 'illegal immigrant' which of course means cracking down on Mexicans. So the police rounded up a bunch of Mexicans many of whom were working on farms and in hospitality. Originally, one of these individuals who was a farm owner was totally for it and supported deporting the Mexicans. So a bunch of Mexicans get rounded up, the ones who didn't get caught wanted to escape the witch hunt so they decided to leave.

What was the effect?

The agriculture industry was damaged. The same farm owned who originally supported removing the illegals found himself with no labor. He originally thought, well I'll just give these farms to the local whites and blacks. The problem is, a lot of the locals don't want to work as farm hands. The ones that were hired lasted a very short time and he stated that they were terrible workers. He stated that the Mexicans were consistently much harder working. He stated the locals would get burned out after a few hours while the Mexicans would work their butt off all day long.

I don't think the politicians really have all that much personal power. Sure, they make decisions which affect people on a grand scale but those decisions aren't often their own. They're influenced and controlled by the groups they support, their Superpacs, and the lobbyists. It seems like the lobbies have more control than anyone else.

I personally wish we had a Putin type of figure in the US.

You don't approve of President Husain as a femmy figure ?
The ones that were hired lasted a very short time and he stated that they were terrible workers.

You nailed it buddy.
These pampered life long welfare people are clueless what WORK is.
I have repeatedly posted that ANY able bodied person with their nose in the public trough should be given one of those jobs as a farm hand AND if they refuse to do it refuse them welfare. After about three days of not eating they would be very happy to have one of those farm jobs to feed themselves with.
But then they couldn't afford to go to professional sport games, have cable t.v., be given $200 a month free foodstamps to buy pepsi and frozen pizza, have money for drugs & alcohol, have free health care, have a $100 cell phone payment.....you've heard it before.
That is why President Trump said, "Blacks should hate Obama for making them slaves to the government by handi capping them with welfare."
Again the Trumpster wasn't Politically Correct as he spoke the truth. A real sliver under the Liberals saddle.
Sanders is the only option

OMG ! Even you aren't that stupid.

Prominent white nationalist David Duke called for supporters to rally around Republican Donald Trump's presidential campaign after his wins in Nevada and South Carolina, and said casting a vote for another candidate is "treason."
Duke, a former Louisiana state representative and grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, said on his Wednesday radio show that Trump is running the "most insurgent campaign in recent American history" and railed against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL).
David is another Political Incorrect that ain't afraid to poke someone in the eye with the nasty truth.
I wonder who President Trump will pick for VP.
Be nice if it was Rubio and since Trump hasn't attacked Rubio yet it might be a possibility.
Those two would win the General election hands down.

Trump on free trade;
Free trade, if you don't have full employment, is a rounding error. In that case the only things you should be importing are things you need which you literally can't make yourself. And if you can't make them because you don't know how, you should be learning.
Free trade works when countries have full employment and capacity utilization. Only then does it make sense.
Trump wants bilateral trade deals. Country X sells America what America can't make for itself, and America sells Country X what that country can't make for itself.
Trump is right.
Trump also wants full universal health care. That will free up a lot of money.
Trump wants to tax the financial industry, that will give him a lot of money.
He also wants to be an import tariff tax of 32% on all cars made in Mexico.
This is the start of how you put America back to work and make it great again.

Johnny, American corporations are moving their production abroad simply because there are many places out there where people work for a fraction of our lowest minimum wage. If Trump would stop that kind of investment (and with it the regular quarterly increase in shareholder value), he would be nailed to a cross faster than he can say "oops".

Johnny, American corporations are moving their production abroad simply because there are many places out there where people work for a fraction of our lowest minimum wage.

Ah yeah, that's Trumps reasoning to add the 32% import tariff so it won't be advantages to move their products abroad.
Keep the jobs in the U.S.A. because of no advantage to ship them abroad. Now do you get it ?

At Houston tonight, Rubio to Trump on illegal immigration;
"You're the only person on this stage that's ever been fined for hiring people to work on your projects illegally," Rubio said, referring to a decades-old legal judgment against Trump for hiring undocumented POLISH workers at one of his projects in New York.
At the time, Trump maintained that he did not know the workers were undocumented.
Now that's funny............

David Duke

I like David Duke and Alex Jones (although Alex can get carried away sometimes). Nonetheless, these individuals say it like it is. The other media outlets label them as crazy, fear mongering, insane, and even call Alex Jones a racist. He actually has close ties with prominent black Muslim Farrakhan (or however you spell his name). Anyway, I do not stick to just one media outlet because they all have agendas. I get my news from a variety of courses - John Stossel (love that guy!), WGN, Fox, BBC, CNN (every so often I'll watch it), Al Jazeera (I find them to actually be rather un-biased in many aspects), InfoWars, RT (Russian media - they have great coverage on the migrant crisis), Telemundo (Yes I speak a bit of Spanish and often watch it to brush up), Time, Vice (HBO show - great website too - however they have become too far left for me lately but nonetheless cover interesting topics and are one of the few left outlets that reports on the IDF and their treatment of Palestinians), InfoWars/Prison Planet, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Sun Times, and probably a few I'm forgetting... I feel it is important to not stick to just one news source and get your information from a variety of sources - even if they clearly have an agenda. That way, you can question why they how a particular bias and how it affects their reporting. Furthermore, you see how the left and right will manipulate statistics to further some cause or agenda and make your own opinion.

Yes yes, Rubio mentioned that Trump hired illegal Polish workers - what like 38 years ago or something? As a Polish immigrant, although I came legally and was naturalized, and a person who knows many illegal Polish immigrants, I think they'd actually support Trump more because of this. It shows that at least he gave them jobs. In Chicago there are tons of illegal Poles working in the construction industry. These individuals are extremely hard working and want to become citizens. The law is kind of stupid. As one of my illegal Polish friends said, 'well my reward for not getting caught and deported after 10 years was naturalization.'

Trump is not the ideal person to run the country. However, he is certainly a good businessman and he does listen to his advisors - something that Obama did not do. This entire presidency was based on my way or the highway. This is why we are in the state we are in. I feel that Trump would be more of a 'strongman' than any of the others. I mean here's basically the choices:

Sanders: Socialist *cough* commie *cough* When I hear a socialist like him talking about revolution I can't help but think of Trotsky.
Hilary - perpetual liar - this would be the least bi-partisan candidate. I remember during one debate she basically responded to every question by saying something bad about the Republicans. Like she literally could not answer a question without bashing the Republicans.
Rubio - I like him but I
Jeb Bush - ZZzzzzz snore Zzzzz
Cruz - bit too conservative to win in my opinion but I do like him though
Rubio - less conservative than Cruz, after the debate with Trump he actually showed that he had some claws

I still think that Trump is going to get the nomination because of his popularity. I just hope that Hilary doesn't get it. I don't know how that lady isn't in prison.

Bottom line: We need a strongman politician now more than ever. The US has no respect anymore from other countries' politicians. No one is scared of the US because Obama has no balls. Our 'enemies,' Russia, China, and the Iran are stronger allies than ever, which is fine with me but like Trump said we shouldn't be constantly fighting with them. The US should engage Russia in meaningful talks. Afterall, they've managed to do more damage to ISIS in a few months than the US did about a year and a half.

The only thing that is preventing the utter collapse of the US economy is that the dollar is the most widely accepted currency in the world. Even in North Korea goods are exchanged for dollars. As the US gets weaker and weaker, other countries will find a currency to replace it. One of the main reasons why Gadhafi was actually killed is because he wanted the Arab countries in N. Africa and the Middle East to create a currency system similar to the Euro in Europe. It was called the dinar and the Arab countries would sell their oil in dinars instead of dollars. Of course the US and the West couldn't allow that...

Furthermore, you see how the left and right will manipulate statistics and to further some cause or agenda and make your own opinion. Oftentimes, they'll be discussing the same thing yet their statistics will differ greatly. Statistics are pretty much useless anyway unless you know for a fact that they are unbiased and you have access to the data pool, collection methods, and what formulas they used. One of the most beneficial classes I ever took in college was called Business Statistics. Basically, it taught how to manipulate pools of data to achieve a result you want. Like for example, say you have a company that sells toothpaste and your toothpaste sucks, but it's very cheap. You can create a statistic that says something like 90% of shoppers found that this brand had the most value for the money. Or, 60% would recommend this toothpaste - that 60% could be like college students on a budget but of course that pool of data is oftentimes not listed or is very vague. Oftentimes, you will notice statistics also have a very subjective word inserted in the statement like in this case 'most value.' Also, oftentimes statistics will chose a tiny pool to inflate their numbers like say 90% of people love obamacare but the pool of data could be perhaps African Americans making less than $15k a year or something. A good example of this is how Hilary would go on and on about the male female pay gap - the 76 cents for every dollar that a man early or whatever the exact number is. Yes, if you compare ALL jobs by men to ALL jobs by women that figure is correct. It does not account for levels of education, type of job, etc. Studies have found that the gap is basically non existent after adjusting for 5% chance of error (the standard change of error for studies) when comparing the same job held by a male and a female. The gap was also very small for education - it was about 90 cents woman for every $1 male. One of the reasons why this is though is because women typically chose lower paying fields like education, public relations, social work, etc. while men take jobs like petroleum engineering, computer programming, contractor, etc.

Keep the jobs in the U.S.A. because of no advantage to ship them abroad

There's a difference between reality and wishful thinking. As I said earlier already: the second Trump tries that stunt, he'll be history. The feds can't make Apple unlock even one lousy iPhone without the company whinging about infringement on its right of free speech (corporate personhood is the biggest joke ever - courtesy Supreme Court), so what makes you think that Trump would be able to push through a 32% import tax against the will of those that really run the US of A? And don't forget that on top of that, it would cost billions of dollars to relocate production back to the US. Good luck getting that one through...

I like David Duke and Alex Jones

Good to know... :)

AdrianK9
26 Feb 2016  #478

Yes he was a KKK grand wizard. The KKK was actually a very large political organization from the 1930's onward but started fizzling out around the 80's and 90's. Even David Duke admitted it was a mistake and wishes he could go back to it.

However, one of the reasons why I do like him is that he points out a lot of negative things about Israeli policies and Zionism. (By the way, a UN resolution was issued because the majority votes that Zionism is racist). However, I do not agree with the KKK or the other anti-black organizations. There are good and bad people in all races, religions, nationalities, genders, sexual orientations, etc. etc. I do not have an issue with black people as a whole nor do I hate black people as a whole. What I don't like is that fact that the U.S. government has created a system of generational reliance on welfare, food stamps, rent assistance, utility assistance, cash assistance, etc. In Illinois, if a single mother is unemployed and does not have a husband living at home, if she collects all the government programs available to her it would be the same as if she was making approximately $50,000 a year. I don't know too many single moms making over $50k a year unless they are educated, business owners, or simply very hard working and ambitious.... or perhaps strippers...

Unfortunately, our media has promoted a hatred of the upper-classes regardless of how they earned their money. Yes, there are crooks that have stolen, cheated, and manipulated their way to the top. In decades past, saving up your money, working hard so that you get a promotion and further your career, buying a nice home and a new car, and attaining upper middle class status was rewarded and congratulated. Now it is vilified. 'Victimhood' is highly rewarded. You are more likely to get respect from the brainwashed masses if you are a welfare queen crying about the white devil or perhaps a coddled college student crying about not being able to get a job that pays more than $12 an hour than if you are a doctor who has a beautiful home and a Porsche although that individual most likely had to take out half a million in student loans to finish pre-med and medical school or the even the Mexican immigrant who is now wealthy because he worked his butt off and now runs a successful landscaping company. Personal responsibility is dead, amassing wealth regardless of how its done is evil, just having white skin is a privilege that all whites must admit to regardless of class, income, etc., the poor must be helped regardless of the reasons why they are poor. That is modern US society.

The government has created a system where an uneducated woman actually has the best financial prospects if she is divorced/unmarried and has no man in the household, has many children as the government will then give her a larger apartment and more cash each month, and where she can live comfortably despite not working hard. Demographically, most of these individuals are black. 38.8% of welfare recipients are black (source: U.S. Department of Commerce January 23, 2016 study) despite the blacks being only 13-14% of the US population. There are more blacks on welfare than both whites and Hispanics combined. The statistics of one study measuring black households with children are even more striking - 82% (Source: Center for Immigration studies - 2012 however the sample size was relatively small in this study). That is why the blacks get a bad rep. This system perpetuates itself. For example, if a person is on welfare, rent assistance, etc. but wants to make some extra cash as the cash payments themselves are rather small, instead of getting a job and losing their welfare it would be easier for them to sell drugs, rob people, or commit other cash-generating crimes. It was thought that education would be the answer to this as would affirmative action. This wasted a lot of money and did not work. Many people who were more qualified for certain jobs would not be chosen due to affirmative action. This is a blatant disregard of the free market and letting employers chose the best person for the job. Although many blacks have managed to remove themselves from the cycle of crime, poverty, and welfare which I highly applaud them, there are many others who cannot or are simply unwilling because it is simply easier to be on welfare, food stamps, etc. Our politicians need to find a way to end this cycle of poverty, drugs and crime, welfare, fatherless households, and all these other issues plaguing black communities. Simply throwing more money at the problem is not going to fix it. However, I think gradually declining payments as time goes on and forcing people to go to employment agencies and truly prove that they have been looking for work needs to be implemented. Drug tests should also in my opinion be implemented as I do not want my tax dollars going towards people buying crack. Food stamp cards should only be accepted with IDs as a significant portion of drug addicts and alcoholics on SNAP sell their food stamp cards or let others use them in return for cash. Now the children have nothing to eat. Learning a school ought to be mandatory for recipients who are unemployed and are having a hard time finding a job whether it is hospitality, welding, journalism, automotive repair, whatever. This cycle needs to be broken and replaced with a realistic proposal that will actually help these communities than just throwing more taxpayer money at the problem.

Define 'great' without the patriotic nonsense.

Bringing home American jobs that have been out sourced to Mexico and China for a start.
Now your turn without using the Global warming nonsense.
Were the Mexicans and their government ever consulted about said wall??!

Sure the hell not by our Socialist President Hussain Obama. Those are future democrat votes sneaking into our country.
President Trump is simply telling (campaign promises) the Mexican government what is going to happen so get ready.
The Donald DOESN'T NEED Mexico's permission to build a wall just like Mexico didn't need permission when they built one on their southern boarder to keep out illegal's from their country from poor impoverished Central American countries.
Are you sure Mexico got permission before they built their wall ? lol
Being that you are a New York Jew and want Crazy Bernie for president you will stoop to such ignorant rational toward President Trump.
As I said earlier already: the second Trump tries that stunt, he'll be history.

Not necessarily as that is just your opinion and since you are a Australian citizen it really shouldn't give you 'gas' the way it does.
After each and everything I post here both Lyzko and TheOther have come back trying to discredit it which is fine however it has become glaringly obvious that they are upset that President Trump could give a rats behind about both of their Political Correctness that both their little bleeding heart Liberal's have mastered is being IGNORED by the TRUMPSTER and he says it the way it is and could give a rats behind about your Political Correctness which blows your CRUTCHES right from under you with NOTHING for you to stand on.
In short you bleeding heart liberal Socialists are lost without your mastered Political Correctness crutch.

I suggest you come up with something new because when President Trump gets sworn in. Political Correctness will be thrown out the door and replaced with the motto:
I'd rather live free in a land of "hurt feelings" than ENSLLAVED by Political Correctness.

P.S. Remember TheOther, you can't vote with just a green card, you must have an American Citizenship !

Johnny Reb,

You are an elitist, racist, xenophobic, gun crazy, knuckle dragging, Republican. You need to give your fair share to the poor!

....That's what I'd say if I were a left wing socialist. Unfortunately, as opposed to having a lucid intelligent debate, many of the Democrats play the race card/class card/geneder card/2nd amemdment card etc. to discredit you especially if you are a white male. It's like being at a poker table with the Democrat dealing out 'ists' and 'isms'

The democrats appeal to people's lower base insticts - kind of like children. If you tell a person, like a child, here is free stuff - free candy, free toys, whatever you're going to be happy. You're going to eventually expect free things and perhaps even rely on them.

The thought of that candy and toy (health insurance, welfare, $15 an hour wages) not really being free as the parents (taxpayers, employers, employees, consumers) had to pay for it (taxes and high costs of goods and services) doesn't really occur.

Those are future democrat votes sneaking into our country.

True but the one thing that surprised me though is Obama actually deported more Mexicans than any other US president or at least there's several studies where I read stating that. Another broken promise of 'fixing immigration.' Unless by fixing immigrant he meant spending $30k a person and deporting tens of thousands.

Mexico didn't need permission when they built one on their southern boarder to keep out illegal's from their country from poor impoverished Central American countries

immigration'

Glad you mentioned that, strangely enough no one gets their panties in a bunch when we talk about building a wall to secure our border. I want Mexicans to come to the US - I really do because they are very hard working and help our economy. Certainly the welfare class aren't going to jump at the chance to work as fast food cooks, landscapers, and farm hands. However, I want the Mexicans like all immigrants to do it legally. Mexico didn't want a bunch of illegal Guatemalans coming over so they built a wall. Like in the US where the Mexicans are often left the 'grunt' type of jobs that many don't want to do, in Mexico the Guatemalans have these types of jobs and hence are an important part of the economy. Actually, the illegal Guatemalans weren't so much the issue but more so a lot of the minors crossing into Mexico especially from El Salvador.
