2016 Presidential Elections in the US

No, Adrian! You've a false understanding then of what is termed "free speech". There certainly is a lot in between, as you say, yelling "Fire!" in a crowded theater and openly insulting another's religion:-)

If there is true freedom of speech, in theory, every time our former Mayor Giuliani banned art he deemed offensive to fellow Catholics, the "other side" would thus have the right to reject any PUBLIC expression deemed by Muslims to be offensive to Allah and the Koran!

Where does it end??

AdrianK9
21 Mar 2016  #932

Insulting another's religion, or say political agenda, is free speech that will not get you arrested... but perhaps killed if you do it to Muslims... I didn't see any Catholics mowing down people with AK's because some Nigerian smeared elephant crap on a Mary painting or statue and called it art... Offensive yes - but taking away that right is limiting free speech

The meaning of the word "Islam" is "to submit". Muslims take their religion much more seriously, i.e. literally, than do most Christians, Buddhists or Jews. Except during the Crusades and later during the Salem Trials here in the States, I've rarely heard of Christians comdeming someone to death merely for blaspheming the name of Jesus:-)

Even the ultra-Orthodox Jews may indeed shun and/or ostracize someone whom they deem "traif" or in violation of kashrut, marries outside the faith etc., yet never would they condemn that person to death!

AdrianK9

You're right. But free speech allows us too question and debate the tenets of Islam, even make fun of their strange burqa clad women in the same sense that liberals make fun of the anti evolution christians.

The liberals want to block this free speech by saying everything is offense and not pc. Even trumps rally in chicago got cancelled because of this garbage that's proof enough that free speech is declining in the US.

Ahemm, free speech and political correctness are two very different things:-)

his is why third world countries like India or Indonesia will never be able to reach the standard of living of western countries without getting their population growth under control first.

Mmmhm, look at China, although the one child policy was heavily criticized it worked wonders along side with capitalism booming industries. I am aware it is two children now, that was from the implications of too many families aborting females as they preferred males, I think China's two child policy will work out fine. Take into contrast Communism/Marxism under Mao, he wanted to expand the population of China...as the result, well you know the story.

Zeitgeist

I try to stay away from socialist fallacies of utopia because they don't seem to work. Just look at Venus project or Zeitgeist, it basically comes down to farming humans controlled by robots, eck, I'd rather die then live in a world like that.

sustainable development

Well, we can't deplete our resources or we will die, we must be conservative here

@TheOther
Deforestation and cattle farming accounts for over half (larger then any other source including transportation/energy combined) the reason for climate change, though I still am open to skepticism. My point was not to do nothing, I mentioned deforestation is a bad idea, and the science backs it up. It's about time we limit our selves from destroying the forests at a faster rate then they can grow back, what do you think breaths in the CO2? And cattle farming, not only do we cut down forests to make new ranches or soy farms, cows also produce methane, methane being at least 20x more potent then CO2. That's basically what is driving climate change, that is sciences best shot to describe why the climate is increasing due to anthropogenic sources. So I am not for carbon tax, we have bigger fish to fry.

Everything has its limits

Can we say the Cultural Marxist's PC has gone too far? and thereby reached its limits?

China actually just ended their one child policy recently because they're on par with Japan in terms of rapidly aging societies. The difference though is that Japan provides a safety net for their seniors and respects them. The Chinese parents instead go to markets with pictures and descriptions of their son or daughter and try to find a financially successful match so the parents' don't have to stress in their retirement years and will be taken care of.

Anyway... yeah I mean I find Zeitgeist interesting - again I've only watched the Addendum video so far but I mean it's an obvious and rather mute argument. Yes, the fed sucks and yes we work like slaves to pay off debt. That makes sense, you have credit cards and mortgages you have to go to work or else the bank will take your home away. Less debt, less enslavement to your employer. I personally live like a gypsy and feel like I've mastered the art of looking like a million bucks but living cheaply. Of course I enjoy a steak dinner, cognac, and a good cigar but I don't live in some MTV Real World fantasy life where my toys judge who I am. I drive an 20 year old car (granted it only has 70k miles), buy suits off the rack, and will only buy stuff that's a good deal. I'm actually pretty cheap but that's why I have a decent savings account and no student debt, no credit card bills, no car payments, no 'Rent -A-Center weekly bills (where you're paying $30 a week for a TV for 3 years so you end up paying $8k over 3 years for a TV that's worth $2). Most people can't do this though - especially in the US. If someone makes $40k a year they'll spent $50k, if someone makes $100k they'll spent $150k - it seems like no matter how much people make here (again, the average person) they'll spend more. They say, oh well I put aside $10k into my IRA this year - yeah, that's great but that doesn't do you much good when you spent $10k on the interest alone from your mortgage, credit cards, loans, etc. That's probably why I'm essentially single though except for my weekend booty call.. but whatever. One of the best ways to break out of this 'financial slavery where you go to work because of the debts you have' is to save your money and invest it. This is why I am totally opposed to Hillary's tax plan because it totally ruins investment income for the average person but keeps rates exactly the same for day traders and HFT firms. If you save enough money and reinvest it wisely, which doesn't take a Goldman Sachs trader - believe me because I use to work in commodities - you can totally live off of your investments. However, with a much larger tax burden like Hillary is proposing it's going to be much more difficult since the capital gains tax is going to drastically increase for investments held between 1 and 6years - only the capital gains tax for investments held under 1 year and over 6 years would remain at current rates which are still higher than under Bush. My dream in life is to open a liquor store, gas station, convenience store, tobacco & head shop, whatever - some small business like that and to me that would be more than enough because it wouldn't feel like to work to me running my own little place and hiring some cute dime to help out and run the register.

As far as conserving our resources, yes I do agree we do need to conserve them in an intelligent manner. I actually watch an interesting video last night about an island in the middle of the pacific that is the size of Texas and is filled with plastic waste. That's messed up and even worse there is really no way to get rid of it. Protecting oceans and preventing over fishing is just one of many issues that we have to deal with. However, I don't think that the UN's Agenda 21 is a good way to do it. The plan for the US is to take over all the land and force people to live in densely populated areas with as many as 30-90 settlements in an acre. No thanks, I'd rather live in the forest with my dad's AK-74 in that case.

Here is a map of UN's Agenda 21's plan as it pertains to the US to 'protect biodiversity' but really this means just grouping humans into high density tiny apartments in metropolitan areas. All the red areas, which as you can see is the majority of the US, would have no human developments. Welcome to the future where everyone lives in a recycled shipping container.

And now another attack in Brussels - 35 dead 176 injured... and we wonder why Trump wants to limit Muslim immigration...

This is what happens when you let in a bunch of people without vetting them. The liberals give these people homes, food, and money yet they demand that the host country adapts to their foreign customs and religion then murder innocent people and top of it while shouting God is Great...

The Muslims are just practicing their faith.

The Nobel Qur'an 59-60

"And let not those who disbelieve think that they can outstrip (escape from the punishment). Verily, they will never be able to save themselves (from Allah's Punishment).

And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to threaten the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides whom, you may not know but whom Allah does know. And whatever you shall spend in the Cause of Allah shall be repaid unto you, and you shall not be treated unjustly"

You can see why Poland wants to limit Muslim immigration to 7,000, after all 90% of the population of Poland would be classified as disbelieving infidels.

Oh you racist bigots you !
You just don't understand.
Didn't you know that Islam is a religion of peace.
We must learn to "tolerate" a few extremists. (said with sarcasm)
The truth is that they are all extremists because all they know is the Koran. (Cow)
London will be next.
When the Liberals call Trump a bigot, racist etc., it just shows their ignorance.
Keep Poland Polish !

Islam is a religion of peace.

Islam is no more the religion of peace than Christianity is the religion of peace. The problems come from bigots of all faiths, such as Trump.

22 Mar 2016  #942

Maybe Mr trump is concerned because he has read the Qur'an

4.56
"Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses - We will drive them into a Fire. Every time their skins are roasted through We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted in Might and Wise."

Yes, but Christians don't go exploding mosques and mowing down turban wearing dudes with AK-47s on a regular basis. No one got killed when a Nigerian smeared elephant crap on Mary and called it art. Sure, they got ****** but no one got killed. I haven't heard of a Christian dude shouting 'What Would Jesus Do!' or 'ALLELUJA!' before activating a suicide vest.

Harry

Probably not. And neither have you. Just as you haven't read Deuteronomy (helpful hint: there's lots in there about what to do with non-believers).

Christians are fair game., maybe donald read this passage too.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir (on Qur'an 9:30)-Fighting the Jews and Christians is legislated because they are idolaters and disbelievers. Allah the Exalted encourages the believers to fight the polytheists, disbelieving Jews and Christians, who uttered this terrible statement and utter lies against Allah, the Exalted. As for the Jews, they claimed that Uzayr was the son of God, Allah is free of what they attribute to Him. As for the misguidance of Christians over Isa, it is obvious.

"Just as you haven't read Deuteronomy" Christianity, Islam Difference below.

The Qur'an is unique among sacred scriptures in accepting a doctrine of abrogation in which later pronouncements of the Prophet declare null and void his earlier pronouncements.[9] Four verses in the Qu'ran acknowledge or justify abrogation:

The young children, the future generation, will learn to love Islam, learn that precise mathematics doesn't matter and estimates are more important, hate the Bill of Rights, believe that the 2nd Amendment is to arm state militias, and learn what pimps and mobsters are by 4th grade thanks to Common Core and the liberals who forced it upon our schools.

This is what kids are learning these days in grade schools:

Let's get the kids to think of how to get rid of the constitution because the 'courts have determined it's outdated'

Let's not forget about Muslims... Common Core has lots of education for the kids on Islam, but little to none on Christianity or Judaism - Even making students write the Shahada prayer, citing the pledge of allegiance in Arabic,

In Denver, kids were going on field trips to a mosque were told they'd have to dress a certain way (no mention of dress codes for the synagogue visit or church visit - why are there field trips for grade school kids to religious institutions anyway? what happened with separation of church and state?)

Let's not forget about sex... I'm all for sex ed and educating high school kids on condoms and STDs.. but teaching young kids about s&m, bondage, anal I think is too far...
Dreaming in Cuban - book exposes kids to sadomasochistic relationships
It's Perfectly Normal - a picturebook discussing that masturbation is as the title says perfectly normal, is considered as 'acceptable' according to the common core sex education curriculum - recommended for ages 10+ (4th graders)
Your Health Today - book for freshman discussing s&m, vibrators, and all sorts of fun stuff but doesn't discuss much about HIV or other STDs... even the Cali liberals thought this went too far...

Thank goodness I wasn't taught any of this nonsense when I went to school. I feel so sorry for parents - I can only imagine the frustration. You can bet my parents would've pulled me out of school if they I bet soon laws will pass where if you explain the 2nd amendment to your kids or raise them to be God fearing Christians with old fashioned Christian values, they're going to be taken away.

This is the crap that is being taught to the future generations thanks to Obama, the liberals, and Bill gates who gave $200 mil to help this garbage pass.

If I ever have kids (which I probably won't because they make everything in your house sticky) I am definitely home schooling them or sending them to Poland.

You mean like in Texas where they made the "theory" of creationism part of the science curriculum?

This is the crap that is being taught to the future generations thanks to

Islam is a religion, though most who practice the faith in earnest will tell you that ONLY radical extremist support Jihad and the ghastly stuff which just occurred in Bruxelles or several months prior in Paris!! As true adherents of the Jewish creed boldly denounced the likes of a Meier Kahan, one cannot lump all Muslims, Jews, Protestants etc. into a single basket a la Mr. Trump.

According to the New York Times and other authorities from the Fourth Estate, one of the reasons for the Donald's divorce originally was because his first wife heard him listening to hate speeches by Hitler which he allegedly used before going into some mega-business confrontation:-)

Furthermore, ol' man Freddy was involved in a Klan gathering some seventy or more years ago and was arrested as being part of a group which supported "justice" for white Protestant males from expressing themselves in the only language of our country: English!!

Bigotry seems to run in the family. Does such bode well for the future First Family???!

You mean like in Texas where they made the "theory" of creationism part of the science curriculum?

That has nothing to do with common core. Why don't you educate yourself and see the new type of math that kids are being taught. Google Common core math in images and you will see. Also Common Core is telling kids to alter the Bill of Rights and teaches that the 2nd Amendment is something different than it really is...

google.com/search?q=common+core+examples&biw=909&bih=771&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwi1mInv_NTLAhWMcT4KHYvyDIUQ_AUIBigB#imgrc=_

Had a quick look at common core math, should only be taught those of of a lower IQ or learning disabilities, this will slow people down when it comes to doing simple sums.

AdrianK9
22 Mar 2016  #953

This whole common core program was launched to make American children 'competitive' in the global economy.

Yes, but it's being taught in nearly every single state... 9+7= 16 isn't good enough anymore... now you have to 'break up' numbers and use 'friendly' numbers so instead of simple 9+7 you want to use 10 (a 'friendly' number) + 6 instead. You're suppose to use addition to solve subtraction problems.

It gets worse with all the time devoted to Islam in middle school and high school history books but curiously omit Judaism and Christianity. It's not just learning about the history of the middle east - I can understand that - but learning how to write the Shahada in Arabic Calligraphy and making prayer rugs for homework in a public school? Are you kidding me? One of the reasons why this is happening is because of all the Turkish and Libyan big money in Pearson's publishing though.

Yes and constant addition gives you multiplication, but it all takes time.

Did you know our modern numbering system is Arabic, otherwise we would still be using roman numerals.

AdrianK9
22 Mar 2016  #955

Exactly, so the new form of math is basically over complication and creating unnecessary extra steps. 13 + 42 is one step... it doesn't need the 42 to be broken down into 'friendly' numbers like 10 and 20.

Yes I do. We borrow from all different cultures and see what works best and is most practical. Subtraction by using number lines, 'breaking down' numbers that are as complex as 152 and emphasizing explanations of you arrived at an answer rather than emphasizing if an answer is correct or not is just ridiculous though.

At least Trump understands how stupid this Common Core system is. I'm all for advancing US education because we're way behind. I mean even Poland has a way higher standard of middle school and high school education than we do. Common Core is dumbing down the next generation. My generation is a bunch of half-retarded, hipster, coddled crybabies that get offended way too easily and think that 'hard work' only pertains to Mexicans. I can only imagine what the US will look like once the middle school children become adults in 20 years.

I especially love the 'Distribute the wealth' worksheet.

You do realise it's one of the methods of teaching maths practised in many countries, including Poland? It's not making kids dummer it's a simple solution of explaining to kids how does numbers 'jump' between 10, 20 etc. If you had kids or ever tried to teach them math you would know that that's a common problem for kids. And I don't believe you don't use the same technique in your mind when you add numbers like 22+17+8. I can bet you add 22 and 8 first.

dolnoslask
22 Mar 2016  #957

Must admit I would add 22+17 first, but now you have pointed it out , simpler to add the small number first.

But I am old school, knowing times tables, mental arithmetic parrot fashion and all that.

AdrianK9
22 Mar 2016  #958

And yes, you would perhaps add 8 + 12 first... but you wouldn't divide up 12 into 2 + 10 + 8...

No, but you were complaining about the dumbing down of our kids by the evil liberals, and I showed you that our conservative nut jobs are not any better. There's no difference in my opinion (I'm against Common Core, by the way), which leaves us with the question if both liberals and conservatives are risking the quality of education and the future of our children on purpose.
