2016 Presidential Elections in the US

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas angered American Muslims on Tuesday with a call to "patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods" in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Brussels.
Arguing that politicians had "tried to deny this enemy exists out of a combination of political correctness and fear," Mr. Cruz said that Europeans were "seeing what comes of a toxic mix of migrants who have been infiltrated by terrorists and isolated, radical Muslim neighborhoods."
Awe to bad for our Muslim guests, go back where the hell you came from if you don't like it, this is OUR country, not yours.

I don't support that, I want to prevent that from happening

That's the ultimate goal of UN's Agenda 21 - it's referred to as 'stack housing', inclusionary upzoning, etc. There's a lot of good legit information on what Agenda 21 and the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule (I'd recommend you check this out as well) Basically, this bill essentially removes local governments from power and places HUD in charge to basically change the demographics in an area so that there is a mix of nations, colors, religions, genders, sexual orientations in an area and would allow for shift of people to said area if need be. This would also remove people from rural areas to the new 'Smart Growth Cities' (many of which are in their infant stages on the West Coast and even the Seattle mayor Ed Murray and the city council recommended that no new single family homes should be built and high rise apartments/mixed use buildings should be built instead) and limits who can live in suburbs. So say goodbye to your ethnic Polish neighborhood, your farm house, your vacation ranch, your dream suburban home that you've worked for years to buy all in the name of reducing poverty and providing 'sustained development.'

That map that I posted shows red areas where there would be no people living. Properties in those areas as well as a large buffer zone (I believe up to 120 miles) would be confiscated and we would have to live in 30-90 unit apartment buildings crammed into an acre. I wish I was joking or making this up but this is something that the UN has been working on since the 90s and calling it 'sustainable development' which sounds awesome till you do some research into what it would mean for the average tax paying citizen.

That's the ultimate goal of UN's Agenda 21

Hmm, troubling... if you look into the zeitgeist and Venus project further its solution basically falls on the same lines as how you described Agenda 21. You would need a very authoritarian regime to implement something like this and I'm not sure how many ecologists, conservationists, rangers etc. would even be on board. But I can assure you, I do not stand with this plan

There's a lot of good legit information on what Agenda 21 and the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule

I'll look into it more, I know very little at the moment.

I do not support that version of sustainable development, there are other ways to do things.

You have any idea who this un - American yoyo is ?
Seattle mayor offers plan to help followers of Sharia law to buy houses.
Since it is against Sharia law to pay interest on a loan this guy is proposing that the American tax payers help Muslims buy housing in America interest free.
He is also a big time supporter of Hillary.
Another liberal poster child of how to destroy America further.
We need to get Trump in there as fast as we can to stop the spread of this cancer.
(Even though Trump has no chance of becoming our next president)
Szalawa you got room up there in Canada for us that will soon be forced to migrate as we get run out of what use to be called the United States of America.

Szalawa, yes, even many Democrats are against this because they honor individual property rights. I can kind of understand eminent domain if your house in the way of a highway construction or something but this is just nuts. This federal push for high density micro-apartments is just scary. The main group pushing for these initiatives at the local levels is ICLEI which is not only able to override local town and city government and taxpayers even though ICLEI members are not elected officials, on top of it the local governments raise taxes to be able to pay the huge monthly dues or risk losing federal funds. This is what the future of housing in US cities looks like (and around the world actually signed 178 countries agreed to implemented Agenda 21) - it's already starting in places like Kips Bay and the West Coast under the guise of affordable sustainable housing:
inhabitat.com/nyc/nycs-first-prefab-micro-unit-apartment-building-begins-to-rise-in-manhattan-photos
This isn't going to happen on a large scale in 5-10-20 years but the financials, laws, legal contracts and zoning is already in the works. The UN is expecting to have most of Agenda 21 implemented though by 2050. Another big aspect of Agenda 21 is transferring wealth from rich industrialized countries to the developing world.

Yes, Johnny, I know how crazy this guy is. I didn't want to go into that but yes, you're right. Our officials proposing Sharia compliant housing... utter lunacy... Although I must admit.. clever clever... I wonder what my bank would say if I came in dressed as a sheikh and said I'm not paying interest anymore.. respect my religion or else (wink wink)!!!
washingtontimes.com/news/2015/jul/17/ed-murray-seattle-mayor-proposes-sharia-compliant-/

Someone earlier said that it's unfortunate that I don't have kids and I don't know what I'm missing. I know, I wish I could have children but at the moment I must work and save to be able to afford to move out of this country and actually enjoy life. II'm not going to bring my children up in the US - no way. I don't want my kids to be taught this Common Core garbage in school and learn how to edit the 'outdated' Bill of Rights and a totally incorrect description of what the 2nd amendment is (I don't recall our founding fathers writing much in the constitution about background checks?). I'm not going to send my kids on field trips to mosques to pray and help them with their Shahada calligraphy homework. I don't want my kids to use gender friendly bathrooms and be called 'purple penguins' because boy/girl, him/her isn't good enough anymore. I'm not going to have my kids constantly exposed to propaganda stating our family's religion and heritage is evil and the result of minority groups' issues.
When I do have kids, it sure won't be in the US but most likely in Poland. I'd chose even Russia over the US because at least they have laws against this kind of nonsense and understand that children shouldn't be exposed to homosexuality in grade school.

In my suburb, there was a push by the local government to create a housing project for section 8'ers. This is one of the nicest suburbs in Chicago and is primarily composed of families and young couples who have worked and saved for years, if not their whole lives, to be able to afford a house here far removed from the problems of the city like crime, traffic, high population density, small to no yards, lack of nature, difficult parking, and bad schools.

Well, the city fought and fought and fought to get some section 8 apartments built (to get federal money) and as you can imagine the residents fought back. The city hall meetings were standing room only - I've never seen my suburb so united for a cause. They were scared that the properties that they worked and saved for years to buy would suddenly fall in value if section 8 projects were built. They were scared that the school district would be filled with new students from failing Chicago schools that are unaccustomed to a high standard public school where the average act score has been between 25-26 which is way more than the state and national average and is even higher than many private high schools. In short, they were upset that the section 8'ers would receive all the benefits of residents who have worked and saved to be able to live in this area and support the excellent schools, parks, and beaches through property taxes.

Thankfully, it failed... somewhat. Eventually the city and residents compromised to redevelop 3 old homes and only allow people who worked in the suburb to live there - i.e. the janitors of the local high school, the landscapers, the grocery bagger, and so on. Quite frankly, I am glad that they got the houses instead of moving some ghetto people from Chicago into my suburb as I consider these individuals part of the community as they worked here for years and can now live in a home in the same neighborhood they work in.

Let's first look at what created the environment which spawned those "section 8'ers"!! After all, affordable housing ought to be a right, not a privilege:-)

Again, many disenfranchised who are voting for Trump might find themselves homeless (and therefore clueless) before too long!

AdrianK9
23 Mar 2016  #969

I'm all for 'affordable housing' in the sense that poor people should be given perhaps more favorable loans or whatever. However, giving someone a free apartment is not 'affordable housing' because they don't have to pay for it - that's free housing. Some of the section 8ers don't have to pay anything and others have to only pay $50-$100 a month which even they to avoid paying that by damaging the appliances, doors, fixtures, etc. because they don't have to pay till its fixed. I know this because my dad's a contractor in a suburb with tons of these section 8 properties and it's good job security since these leeches destroy the places quicker than they can be repaired. We should promote home ownership and not subsidize rent for lazy non working leeches.

The environment that created the section 8ers is unwillingness to work, save money, and reliance on the government. Yes, many people have become poor because they've had some catastrophe like a surgery they couldn't afford to pay for, their house got destroyed in a floor and insurance didn't cover it, etc. However, the vast majority of section 8'ers are people who made bad decisions like dropping out of high school or having 5 kids at age 20 and instead of taking actions to get out of their situation they instead blame the white man for their troubles and ask the government for more. Now the government even gives people free cell phones! That isn't a need to live like food - that's a luxury. There's even a new bill being passed to give poor people free diapers - my parents washed my cloth diapers over and over because we were poor and couldn't afford Huggies or whatever each time I crapped myself. Why can't they hand wash a reusable diaper instead also?

Why should I allow people to live in my bubbled suburb who haven't done anything to deserve it? They haven't gotten into debt going to college, worked hard, and sacrificed on vacations, new cars, etc. so they can save up money to live in a nice suburb like the majority of the residents here. That's like if I went to a bank and said give me free money because my environment has created a situation where I am poor and it's not fair or asked a car dealer give me a car for 1/10th of the price because new cars are unaffordable. On top of it, these section 8'ers would enjoy all the benefits that the tax payers do but they won't help support the school system, the parks, the beach, the library, etc. because they don't pay taxes.

My family and I came to this country dirt poor and not knowing the language. We didn't demand that the government take care of us and get us out of our ghetto roach infested apartment. No, we went to work, saved money, and got an education so we could get out of that 'environment' and so too can these section 8ers. At the end of the day, it is a choice whether or not a person wants to continue to live in section 8 and rely on the government or actually get a job, learn a trade, save some money and get out of that environment - like even Oprah Winfrey did.

Noone mentioned the word "free", although why should prices necessarily be through the roof?? Seems we've lost our balance, and hence our footing, in this country ever since Ronny became president (and simultaneously the Patron Saint of Homelessness)! Heretofore, there'd usually been a happy medium between the "top" 1 vs. the "bottom" 99%ers.

The difference between now and then is that today most realtors do strictly the landlord's bidding, instead of the tenant's:-) This never was as true as it is these days, lest any of the younger folks think I'm dreaming, lying or on somethingLOL

AdrianK9
24 Mar 2016  #971

why should prices necessarily be through the roof??

Real estate prices reflect market value, interest rates, whether there's a bubble or not, demand and supply, etc. so yes some properties are overpriced for a reason and actually section 8 has a bit to do with that as well. Apartment complex owners oftentimes prefer to rent to section 8 people because they know they'll get their money on time and in full from the government instead of from the mechanic or waitress who could get laid off at a moment's notice and oftentimes has to pay a high security deposit, go through credit checks, and go through all sorts of other stuff that the section 8 people usually don't. If you can't afford to rent or buy a 4k sq ft house in a suburb, then either make changes in your life and save some money so you can or look for a house you can afford. If every house was 'affordable' for everyone, we'd all be living in micro-apartments built out of shipping containers like in Kips Bay - which is what a lot of what Agenda 21 and what the urban housing aspect of sustainable development is about. Section 8 is the next best thing to free housing. Affordable housing, in terms of rent, would mean paying rent at $500, $700, $1000 and so on for a family depending on the size, location, amenities, etc. which is totally fair. Affordable housing, in terms of ownership, would mean a worker that makes $35k a year can get a low interest mortgage so he can finally own a house worth $250k and not have to rent the rest of his or her life. However, now the government is more focused on rent assistance than helping people to own a home, refinance, etc. Even if two people work minimum wage they can afford an apartment at $600 a month of which there are plenty even in Chicago. Yes, it won't be a beautiful 3 bedroom overlooking Lake Michigan because those are reserved for people who are willing to pay $5k plus a month to rent out or $1 mil plus to buy. Paying a couple hundred a month is affordable if you're an adult that's employed full time. Paying $50-$100 a month and having section 8 cover the rest is almost as good as having a free place to live and is the reason why then the average worker oftentimes can't afford to buy a home or rent a nice place since he neither qualifies for section 8 nor can afford a $400k entry level suburban home with good schools.

I'll give an example that I believe I gave before. There's a 3 story building we remodeled in Evanston, Il. On the ground floor is a sushi bar, on the 2nd floor lives an Asian dude with his wife and baby. He runs the sushi restaurant below him. On the 3rd floor is section 8 dwellers. The Asian guy pays $1,400 out of his own pocket for renting the 2nd floor apartment. The people on the 3rd floor paying around $100 because Section 8 covers the rest. The size, amenities, even the model and brand of the appliances are exactly the same on the 2nd and 3rd floor. So why would the average person work hard to be able to afford a nice apartment if he could just get away with scrounging up $100 bucks a month - about $3 a day - for the exact same place. On top of it, the people on the 3rd floor get assistance to pay their utilities where as the 2nd floor family does not. To the Asian guy, who doesn't make much money off his restaurant, housing is unaffordable as it's taking a large chunk of his earnings. To the section 8 family, their rent is less than their cable bill. I'd say the Asian guys deserve affordable housing, perhaps in the form of a low interest mortgage so he can buy a decent home and put his kid in a good school, more than the section 8'ers who are contributing nothing, employ no one, and on top of it are damaging the apartment basically given to them.

Now the US has turned into a nation of section 8 dwellers and renters - home ownership is falling more and more each year which is a defining characteristic of the middle class.

Of course, supply & demand! And yet, I seem to recall things being much more on the side of the tenant, oh, only about ten years ago, no longer:-)

Business IS business. Joke: When is business NOT business? Punchline: When it's monkey business!
Appears to be the only kind left, at least in the real estate racket:-)

Adrian, I glanced through Agenda 21 and the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule, they are way too wordy for me to read the whole thing and much of it is redundant and repetitive.

I myself who favors protectionism see the problem with the UN, but as I understand agenda 21 is a non-binding agreement. You have nothing to worry about from the environmental scientist, biologists, ecologists, conservationist and others that fall under natural sciences as they mostly work to repair damaged environments or simply study animal habitat and behavior or conserve sites like Yellowstone, they have little to no interest in these schemes

However as I know it, what is taught in university under geography, a more liberal/social science controlled department, I see startling resemblance to the agenda. Marxism, feminism (the one that has almost nothing to do with women rights), anti-property rights, "social justice" are being pushed upon the students as "critical tools" and capitalism is seen as the "problematic" enemy. These are by and large environmentalist and not reputable environmental scientists. If you are scared of common core, boy, you're in for a surprise what sort of garbage gets into the universities under social science.

I have looked at the demographic population predictions of the US and Canada,
but I am not American so correct me here if im wrong.

Hispanics push into Texas, Florida, New Mexico and California.
States like Texas will become Mexican if nothing is done by immigration.
Hispanics have slightly different values from your typical white American both Republican and Democrat.
Yet somehow many southern states are more conservative.
How long can this last? When Hispanics will begin to outnumber you.

So white falling population will have to head north. Close to the Canadian border.
Asians are also growing in the US, (California, etc).

In Canada the population will be roughly equal to California.
Instead of Hispanics large amounts of Asians will make that population grow.
You can see this already in some of the largest cities of Canada.

Donald could postpone this, but I doubt it will be stopped permanently.
Even though I prefer Trump, I still think Clinton will win. A lose lose situation for both Americans and the world.

Naw......America is the greatest country on this planet and we want to keep it that way.
America has no place for Sharia law which says to kill Christians who refuse to convert to Islam.
There is only one way to deal with Islamic State - These blood thirsty terrorists is to kill them all until you kill the last one.
Then you kill their pet goat.
You will never see refugee's from America.
When things go to crap we don't run to another country.......we dust off our guns and fix it.

There has been examples where christians and muslims co habited for extended periods of time in the past like in south spain for example.
The difference today is they come not as a nation or any one nationality but rather as individuals who enter society.
There is nothing natural for any christian thinking nation to wake up one day with this culture clash. There is nothing normal for people with incompatible views to be slowly leaked into one owns society and indeed to whiteant it's core values.

you're in for a surprise what sort of garbage gets into the universities under social science.

I know I graduated from liberal arts school - Xavier University in Cinci. It's a Jesuit school, like Loyola, Marquette, Creighton, etc. I had to take a lot of theology, philosophy, sociology, art, music, etc. classes that really had nothing to do with my major. They want people to be well rounded, which I totally agree with, but I literally took more classes that had no relation to my major than I did business classes like finance, accounting, business law, marketing, etc. In all honesty, I didn't learn any practical knowledge in the classroom that I use in my career today - aside from perhaps Business Statistics which teaches a person how to manipulate data and statistics to make a product or company seem way better than it really is. That's why I'm very skeptical though when I hear advertisements saying like 9/10 dentists recommend this toothpaste. In all honesty, most of the knowledge I gained in college was more outside of the classroom and it didn't take me long to figure out ways to make the trust fund kids part with their money. Thanks guys!

Yes Agenda 21 is non-binding but over 178 countries have implemented it. One part of Agenda 21 is a group called ICLEI which are non-elected officials that have more power than local governments to ensure that parts of Agenda 21 are implemented. ICLEI exists in several hundred towns and cities (I believe around 600) in the US already. This is all about transfer of wealth to developing nations, enforcing population control, enacting the Wildlands project which will force people to live in 'smart' cities in 'sustainable' housing meaning micro-apartments, and just generally eliminating our rights. If you live in one of the areas not designated as a 'human settlement' you will have to move to one under this plan.

The difference today is they come not as a nation or any one nationality but rather as individuals who enter society.

Multiculturalism does NOT work. There's always going to be differences between the groups and nationalities. I can't think of many examples many different religious groups live in peace and don't have issues. Surprisingly, Iran is one of the few Muslim countries where actually Orthodox Jews get treated pretty well.

Canada has lots of room, unfortunately the government here is also rather lousy

I can't believe Canada has succumbed to this 'trans' nonsense too.

edmontonjournal.com/news/politics/new-resource-will-help-alberta-schools-create-healthy-environment-for-lgbtq-community

A 7 year old trans girl was told to use a 'gender neutral' bathroom because she wanted to use the girls' bathroom. This is a private Catholic school? Why are people telling the school what to do instead of the other way around? Instead of this boy/girl/trans nonsense they need to make this way simpler and just divide bathrooms out by 'Humans who have a penis bathroom' and 'Humans who have a vagina bathroom.'

Yeah I see your concern, I am concerned too.
1) Instead of focusing on transferring wealth to developing nations, I would rather have them develop their own wealth
2)Population control is rather easy as most of the developed world already has declining birth rates, just immigration from developing countries accounts for population growth which can be reversed if needed
3)I don't agree with forcing people into smart cities, however I do acknowledge there is a economic drive for rural communities to move into urban settlements

Point is, I see developed countries have all the right circumstances to be sustainable, just needs some adjustments. We do not need to be some sort of Authoritarian government takeover or some cult movement to get this done.
Micro-apartments should only be for low income or section 8ers if anything. I am fond of workfare because I believe there is lots of work to be done but no one is willing to do it, if the population is decreasing the nation will be required to get these people to do such jobs

I can't believe Canada has succumbed to this 'trans' nonsense too.

It has gotten quite bad here in that respect, our PM is a part time drama teacher feminist. We can not strip terrorist of their citizenship because that's marginalizing...
Yeah, some sort of new cult. It has strong roots with the hijacked feminist groups, they are really just cultural Marxists using a ruse as they don't care about genuine women rights.... They stand for Anti-free speech, gender fluidity, diversity/multiculturalism, quotas...

Yup and then the libtards took prayer out of the schools (except for Islam) and since then things have gone down hill leaps and bounds.

Obama quotes:

"The sweetest sound I know is the Muslim call to prayer"

"Islam has always been part of America"

"...Islam's role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.' "I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month." (whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2010/08/11/statement-president-occasion-ramadan)

'Now part of this conviction is rooted in my own experience. I'm a Christian, but my father came from a Kenyan family that includes generations of Muslims.'
"Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance." "throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality." (Kind of like when the Turks cut people's heads off for not converting and massacred the Armenians?) "Islam is not part of the problem in combating violent extremism - it is an important part of promoting peace."
whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/remarks-president-cairo-university-6-04-09

Top Ten Reasons Why Trump Won't Get Elected.
Because he would.............

1. Undo every single executive order that Hussain Obama (formally Barry Soetoro a.k.a. Barack Obama) signed that violates the Constitution.
2. Build a wall to keep out terrorists, drugs and illegal migrants.
3. Put Hillary in prison for her crimes.
4. Break up the Big Banks and Wall Street
5. Expose the Federal Reserve
6. Boot out all the Muslims and illegal immigrants (Trump knows that illegals are not immigrants) from our country
7. Build up our military like no other before
8. Tell the libtards that their Progressive Thinking and culture enrichment is destroying American values and morals.
9. Put prayer back into our schools and gets rid of Common Core
10.Make America Great Again !

That would totally upset to many important people's apple carts.
They will delete him if he shows any chance of winning.
My guess is that the Republican Party will start a third party with Mitt Romney or someone else.
No way does Trump any longer stand a chance of winning.
The government knows what is better for the people then what the people know what is better for the people.

I really think that Hillary is going to be even worse than Obama. She may not raise the debt as drastically, although of course she will raise it even further, but she will definitely ruin the economy with her drastic capital gains tax and corporate tax increases.

Investments held between 1 to 2 years will pay the same exact tax that investments held for 1 day will pay. Investments held between 1 and 6 years will also have an extreme capital gains tax increase. Only investments held under 1 year and investments held over 6 years will have the current capital gains tax according to her plan. If you keep an investment for 4 years of less, 40% of the profit is going to the government.

People still don't understand that raising taxes lowers GDP which in turn lowers wages and the amount of new full time jobs created. After accounting for all the economic effects of her income tax plan (not even her capital gains tax plan which is just crazy), sources estimate that it will only actually create $200 billion of tax revenue over a decade - which considering the staggering debt we have is a drop in the bucket.
