But just because a twelve-year-old can operate a car, should they be given a driving licence and allowed on the public highway? Yes, or no will suffice. Would you be ok with a twelve-year-old boy picking you up and ferrying to a doctor's appointment? You would in your arse and you know it.

Equally, should a twelve-year-old be given a licence to carry a firearm with them at all times in public for their own protection? Yes or no.

It was a gun that placed the child and his family under threat in the first place. I read the facts of the case on the link you posted but there wasn't sufficient detail so I researched it elsewhere. The intruders were armed and had shot his grandmother in the leg.

In Europe, we don't have armed home invasions on the scale you do in the USA. Why do you think that is? Gun crime is rare. Why do you think that is?
