Whilst an unarmed old man who's had the right kind of training can still take care of himself in many situations. My grandfather dealt with a guy who was trying to force his way into our house. Grandad was 82 at the time and frail, had a heart condition, walked with a limp from a broken hip years before but his reactions were so quick, because he was an old soldier.

Ironically he used his crutch from his broken hip days to send this guy flying. He used to keep it in the hall by the front door as he said it would make a good weapon. Looking back years later I realised that he used it like a bayonet.

There was also an incident years ago in Dublin when two opportunistic burglars tried to rob an old fella's place in the inner city in the days when people collected their pensions in the post office and always had cash in the house. They didn't realise that he had been a champion boxer in his youth. He flattened both of them. He was in his eighties too.

I've seen at least two of the images you posted elsewhere on the internet in both their original form and the manipulated versions. The original images were taken from articles available on the web and then had the guns added. Unfortunately I can't remember where. There are genuine images of Israeli women carrying guns but they are most likely doing their national service and are on leave, which means they still need to have their gun with them at all times. Israel has much stricter gun control laws than the USA and civilians rarely carry weapons in the street.

Who gives a shlt what you have seen...

We are discussing the statistics...and the question who is more likely to be raped and murdered:
