He realized that a woman has a right to choose as well as that EVERY US citizen has the right to health care.

Then, he had no business calling himself a republican or a conservative. If he did, overtly or by implication, he lied.

Hey, there are conservative Dems and then there are moderate, if left-wing Reps. What's the big deal??

Rich Mazur
9 Sep 2018  #663

The big deal is that the Republican party has its own Republican platform. Killing babies before they have a chance to escape from the womb to the safety of the outside is not part of it.

If he is opposed to it, he should run as a Democrat where such things are cherished and a point of pride or as an Independent. Anything else is called opportunism and is dishonest.

Pro life until you are born. Guns over school children. Party over country. In one word: Republicans.

I have an idea. You tell the dems to make abortions illegal and I will tell the reps to make shooting kids illegal. Deal?

I may not like the dude, but any man that survives 5 years of solitary deserves respect. I guaruntee most people here, me included would go crazy and be permanently scarred after such an experience. The mere fact that he overcame that, much less became a senator deserves respect regardless of his views.

A fetus is as yet not "born", is therefore not deemed by science to be a living thing!

Couldn't agree more with you, Dirk!

In addition, was able to laugh about it publically:-)
Once during the mid-'90's on the Today Show, an audience member who clearly was born long after Vietnam and didn't know their arse from their elbow from

nothin', actually asked the Senator what he did during the bulk of the conflict, to which McCain with completely unflappable aplomb replied, "Oh, hanging around!", a reference to his being tied up and left to hang for extended periods from the ceiling of his cell, being at various times punched or kicked in the head by his captors.

Five years in solitary??! Most of us couldn't take it for five minutesLOL

I would rather prefer that you find a cure for the hypocrisy of our so-called conservatives. Pretending to be pro-life while being anti gun control? SAD!

The troll "Rich Mazur" doesn't like the word "Sad",unless it's in the very few posts that support him.....
Expect him to label you as effeminate or gay soon.....
The guy is a racist,narrow minded,bigoted,idiot troll.

I agree with the Chinese and their statements...'religion is a diesese'. 'Islam is a type of mental illness'. Never thought i would agree with anything commie trash had to say but there you go.

Pretending to be pro-life while being anti gun control? SAD!

I am very much for gun control. A gun and a shaky hand is a disaster in the making.
That was easy. Wasn't it?

A fetus is as yet not "born", is therefore not deemed by science to be a living thing!

I hope you realize that you will lose that 'fetus' arguments very quickly, don't you.

Just for starters. If what's outside is a baby, and what's inside is a fetus, at what precise moment does a fetus become a baby, as "deemed by science"?

I would rather prefer that you find a cure for the hypocrisy of our so-called conservatives. Pretending to be pro-life while being anti gun control? SAD!

I would rather prefer that you find a cure for the hypocrisy of our so-called progressives. Ending the life of a baby 10 minutes before it would come out naturally and being against ending the life of a self-admitted multiple murderer? SAD!

Don't even try to tell me that the late-term abortions are illegal. Yes, they are, but the liberal scum fought the law that made it so tooth and nail.

Rich, the "religious right" would deny that, by saying that life begins even BEFORE conception:-)
This is where a lack of science funding throughout parts of rural America creates a gap in knowledge.

Rich, the "religious right" would deny that, by saying that life begins even BEFORE conception:-)

Leave the religious right alone. Now, it's you and me.
As before, you are dancing. My question still is this:
If what's outside is a baby, and what's inside is a fetus, at what precise moment does a fetus become a baby, as "deemed by science"?

Lyzko

When the child first sees the light of day.

Rich Mazur
11 Sep 2018  #675

You just pulled that one out of your rear end to test me, didn't you? Or is this crap from a medical publication and it's "deemed by science"

So if child is born blind, it's still a fetus and will remain so for the rest of his life. Do you see how incredibly stupid your post is?

You want to try again or is this moronic post of yours the best you can do to define when a lifeless fetus becomes a baby?

Ending the life of a baby 10 minutes before it would come out naturally and being against ending the life of a self-admitted multiple murderer?

Expected deflection. The heated abortion debate that is going on is mostly about faith vs. science. Is a conglomerate of cells without a brain structure already a human or not?

Dirk diggler
11 Sep 2018  #677

Well apparently a fetuss heartbeat can be detected 6 weeks after conception. It is a living organism, just not one thats fully developed. Doesnt change my view on abortion as a necessary evil, same with euthanasia. If anything to me tbat seems more humane than keeping someone alive that's suffering or will suffer their whole lives.

Rich Mazur

Is a conglomerate of cells without a brain structure already a human or not?

The surest way to win the abortion debate is to work backwards from the moment that even the pro-choice fanatics agree that that "blob" is now, without any doubt, a human being, aka a baby. Ask them when a fetus became a baby and you get those moronic responses like "when the baby sees the light". To these idiots, if we can't see it while inside it's a not alive, so, it's OK to cut it up into smaller pieces and take it to the city dump, flush it, or sell it for parts.

Lyzko
11 Sep 2018  #679

The abortion debate revolves around "when" life begins, what is (human) life. Is a being necessarily "alive" then, if "it" is not comitose or ever aware of its surroundings?

Once that can be established beyond any reasonable doubt, then we can continues talking.

TheOther
11 Sep 2018  #680

if we can't see it while inside it's a not alive

So after conception when the egg cell has divided for the first time, it's a baby? Or is a sperm already a baby? Is masturbation mass murder then?

Dirk diggler
11 Sep 2018  #681

sell it for parts.

Big money in that. A company i use to work for sold dead fetuses for stem cell research on the side, its a medical waste disposal company. Ive never workrd for a company with more lawsuits and the sales force basically compensated on down right ripping people off and the more you did the bigger your paycheck. l It was also a great paying job i was making 80 90k a year right out of college. The funny thing is mitt Romney was a huge shareholder in the firm. Guess even some of the most vocal holier than thou mormons will put aside their beliefs for the almighty dollar. A few times wr even had pro lifers protesting in front of our building.

@Lyzko
Thats where much of the debate centers around - whether a fetus is alive aka conscious or not. Obviously it isnt conscious but it is still alive. Kind of like a person in a vegatative state

Miloslaw
11 Sep 2018  #682

Says a lot about your morals Dirk,if you worked for a company like that.

Dirk diggler

Everyones gotta eat, even virtue signaling anti abortion mormons like mitt romney... and fyi i quit that job after the lawsuits became too much and my commission was declining

Rich Mazur
11 Sep 2018  #684

Is a being necessarily "alive" then, if "it" is not comatose or ever aware of its surroundings?

No, it does not! It revolves around when a fetus becomes a baby, as the distinction between "fetus" and "baby" is absolutely critical in the debate and at what point in the pregnancy an abortion with cause the cringe factor strong enough to change the abortion laws.

Predictably, you have been deflecting and wiggling. So, here is what I am asking: if you don't want to answer my question, at least have the decency to quit throwing noodles at the wall. The last being this super idiotic "comatose or ever aware" crap. If this was the definition of life, we could cut up anyone, including you, who is in a coma or is not aware in his surroundings.

Are you capable of shame?

Dirk diggler
11 Sep 2018  #685

If this was the definition of life, we could cut up anyone, including you, who is in a coma or is not aware in his surroundings.

That is a current debate. A few states and countries allow medically assisted suicide, not to mention that whole big lawsuit i think with that chavio girl or whatever her name wsd whether the plug could be pulled on her or not. Eventually her life support was removed.

Im a believer that if someone is suffering or terminally ill they should end their life if thats their wish. Same with a mother who feels that shes simply unable to give a kid a decent life or will have a child with tons of deformities.and no quality of life. But to abuse abortion just because you couldnt put on a rubber i cant agree with that...

Rich Mazur
11 Sep 2018  #686

Im a believer that if someone is suffering or terminally ill they should end their life if that's their wish.

And that should already be the law of the land after Roe. Roe primary claim was this fictional relationship between a woman (you know, it's her body), her doctor and that "privacy". What those stupid Warren court 5 overlooked was that under this rule I should be able to have my legs amputated because I got tired clipping my toenails. Or end my life because I am bored. Hey, I am willing, he can cut so what's the problem. Just like with abortion on demand. No difference.

That's what happens when, instead keeping them in cages, we let liberals in anywhere - the US Supreme Court included.

Dirk diggler

under this rule I should be able to have my legs amputated because I got tired clipping my toenails

Im sure some doc would perform that procedure. Ive seen a documentary about a handful of people who feel like some extremity is bothering them, causing them pain, etc even though its physically healthy. Its a psychological disorder. Nonetheless many did amputate an extremity and felt immediate relief.

end my life because I am bored.

Well technically you can and in some states a doctor will help you so you're comfortable. One of our closest family friends passed a few years back. She wss in her late 80s and was healthy not even walking with a cane amd still working full time. Suddenly she got very very sick and her health deteriorated rapidly. She went from working cleaning houses, no signs of dementia no walker or cane even to being super weak, sick and being in the hospital. Anyway after a few weeks of being in the hospital amd only getting worse and barely clinging on to life. She told us and the doc she was ready to go and was happy with the life she had. She didnt want to keep suffering more weeks and the doc gave her a fairly large shot of morphine and she closed her eyes a few mins later and died peacefully. Although it wasnt enougy morphine to kill her, it was enough to make her comfortable and pass away in peace. Now that could be considered medically assisted suicide which is illegal but personally i dont think the doc did anythinf bad. If anything he was willing to potentially get in a lot of legal trouble and probably loose his license, he carried out his patients wish. That was the first close person to me tbat passed. I was a pall bearer at her funeral. Rip Babcia Gienia

In the examples you cited they really needed the relief. My point was that under Roe I should be able get my legs amputated for no reason at all other than because I want to.

Lyzko
12 Sep 2018  #689

??? Beyond the pale of sense there, Rich!

Roe v. Wade was designed to remove the eternal stigma of a young woman/girl NOT being perfect and making mistakes, just like the rest of us:-)

Why penalize her for the rest of her life?

Rich Mazur
12 Sep 2018  #690

(1) Delivering a child somebody else will love is not a penalty. So, that "rest of her life" line is bs.

(2) Abortions have BIG consequences both physical and mental that feminazis avoid like a plague. Any attempt to counsel women about it, the PP feminazis fight tooth and nail.

(3) Getting pregnant is not a mistake. Other than rape, it's preventable and deliberate. Mistake is when I write pegnant. That was a mistake. Getting drunk and spreading your legs for a guy you just met borders on insanity because you never know what you get with his sperm. It could be a death warrant from his AIDS.

(4) Being a village vvhore used to carry a stigma - as it should. Now, that it's gone, we have 70% of black kids born without a daddy and a crime wave that comes with it. That number for the whites at 35% is better but not by much.
