More interesting is Russia's attempts to influence the result of elections around Europe and elsewhere.


It is not for profit, belongs to itself and can never be sold.

The telegraph is the only broadsheet that makes money due to its 70+ aging readership being the only people who still buy newspapers.

Why is it even possible, care to try answering that?

Why don't some Chinese, or Persians, or whoever else hates you even more - do this job?

Some American persons told me, that it is because despite being orcs and mongols, we are still much more intimately familiar with how things work in the West. This, in turn, allows us to exploit things more subtly than the hamfisted Chinese attempts.

I'm surprised by the above line of thinking. As an inferior race of slave men, forever living under a tyrant, how is that we can be deft at identifying and exploiting weaknesses in the free West? How can a slave, understand a freeman?

Don't assume that they aren't at it too, in their own hamfisted ways.

They are, and their attempts are admittedly funny. I see them on Twitter, and even sometimes here on PF. Almost inevitably it's machine generated text, that is riddled with mistakes, and has practically nothing to do with the discussion at hand.

Their attempts at co-opting Western politicians, are similarly caricaturish.

Question was - why are Russians relatively better at this job? There are larger numbers of Chinese and Persians living in the West, than there are Russians. Many of them have the same Ivy/Oxbridge educations. Why don't these people better guide their governments efforts at identifying cracks in the Western edifice?

With the rise of AI we'll see the Chinese getting better at it.

Very much so. russia can't be said to understand the UK (heck, even France and the US don't and as for Poland...) though it isn't only the U.K. who get maskirovka. Germany, France, and a fair few others. Not just in Europe either.

@Alien, Novichok isn't RuSSian. He spent most of his life in the US and considers himself to be an American. And he's a radical American right-winger. Those types are usually anti-Muslim - or, rather, anti-Muslim immigration. And Palestinians are Muslims. Plus, Israel built The Wall lol - that's Novichok's dream for the US (the border wall with Mexico), so for Novichok Israel is a model country in this respect. In other words - he relates more to Israel than to Palestinians.

@Alien, Novichok said himself - he loves RuSSia :) Why? Again - because RuSSia is his "model" country (or, at least, he thinks so). RuSSia is right-wing/nationalist, anti-LGBT, anti-feminist, sociopathic, etc. and Putin is Novichok's perfect father figure. RuSSia is the ideological enemy of the West and its progressive values (the values that Novichok hates).

Well, we need to explain to him that Israel, which he supports so much, is a Western country and a very progressive one in many areas of life. And he doesn't like this progress at all.

I sympathize with Israel for a number of reasons...the main one is being watched by the whole damn world as they deal with the barbarians worse than anything the world has experienced to date, including Nazis. To their credit, Nazis, just as NKVD, tried to hide their crimes.

Not so with Hamas...They brag and promise more of the same while their mindless proxies - safe and coddled in Western "democracies" - scream for "peace".
