Trump though still denies global warming,

Haven't you heard, most intelligent people do because it has been proven to be a hoax.
Numerous top climate scientists have admitted that many of their "global warming" predictions were wrong or seriously exaggerated (lies).
Global warming is phony science that was concocted to justify implementation of an international political agenda.
The idea of using man caused global warming as a surrogate for war and as a way to destroy excess wealth originated in American and UN related think tanks such as the Club of Rome back in the 60's and 70's.

This pseudo science is the centerpiece of a phony environmental movement by which the UN hopes to redistribute wealth in the world toward the super rich and away from the people to de industrialize the industrialized countries (via the UN protocol type carbon taxes, cap and trade schemes, etc.) and seriously reduce the human population.

Trump is six steps ahead of these yoyo's.
I wonder how they explain the ice age ?

Good post. So far, nobody here bothered to explain what happened to 'global warming'. All of a sudden it's 'climate change'.
What Trump did was so totally awesome, to use my first granddaughter's favorite line. He told the world that, instead of lining up in front the global warming ATM to start spitting out the billions of US taxpayers' cash, they can go home and make love to themselves.

I love Trump.

A quick google tells you all you need to know about this.

climate.gov/news-features/climate-qa/whats-difference-between-global-warming-and-climate-change

Of course, why listen to scientists, what do they know about this?

Though frankly I am somewhat relaxed about this. Europe in general and Germany in particular will be less effected by this than other continents. The Americans can enjoy their stronger hurricans and heatwaves if they so choose.

Come to the West Coast

I can't understand why Northern California diverts fresh water into the ocean when Southern California is drying up.
Must be some kind of Liberal Logic.

Two reasons. (1) Fish likes water. (2) To fight global warming.
I have no clue how (2) is supposed to work but neither do they, so it's OK.

Come to the West Coast or visit Europe. Then you'll know.

I hate flying so I will stay here in the Chicago area.

Speaking of Chicago, the all-time record was set in 1934 at 109. In 2004, the highest temp was 92. In 2014, it was 93. At that rate, in the next 80 years, that 93 will be 77!

That global warming just drives me nuts.

In another post I gave you guys the phone number to the Miami Port where they monitor the ocean level - for the obvious reason having to do with them ships.

I called them. In the last 30 years the water level rose...drum roll...nothing, like zilch, nada, nic. I guess, global warming was so f****** intense that the polar ice, instead of turning into water, simply evaporated and went to Saturn. Did you know that they discovered water on Saturn? Now we know how it got there.

Also, although not a proof, did you know that the polar bears like global warming so much that they got really horny, and, instead of being extinct, there are so many of them (25,000 by the latest estimates) that the NY restaurants catering to the liberal elites will soon start serving polar bear hamburgers?

Now, the deflections...

I had to buy a ventilator...for the first time in my life...the first in the long history of my family too...(overpriced at that because of the sell-out)....if that isn't the proof for global warming than what is!

I had to buy a ventilator.

You mean an air conditioner/ventilation unit. A ventialtor is a piece of medical apparatus for people who can't breathe unassisted. God forbid you should ever need one of those.

Yeah...that one...a tower thingie...works quite well I'm glad to report...it's really hot!!!

I had to buy a ventilator for the first time in my life. If that isn't the proof for global warming than what is!

Rising ocean levels.

It's a proof that it was hot in Berlin in August.

1. Berlin does not equal global. 2. August does not mean climate. 3. Hot August in Berlin does not mean I did it. 5. Hot August in Berlin does not mean drama. 6. Hot August in Berlin in 2018 does not mean that there were never even higher temps before. 7. Hot August in Berlin and not hot in Chicago cancel out as proof of anything global. 8. Hot August in Berlin does not mean that the US taxpayers should be included in the final solution (Trump, we love you).

I could go on like this for longer than the forum rules allow so I will stop now hoping that you see my point. Actually, 8 points in addition to my brilliant Post 367.

My prediction in that so totally awesome Post 367 of the upcoming deflections has be confirmed in just 2 hours. I should be a TV weather guy.

it's really hot!!!

Yeah, we're experiencing very similar conditions here in Warsaw. Being on a direct line across from you on the map, we often have similar temperatures I've noticed. The heat is unbearable.

Our apartment faces south-west and gets a lot of direct sunlight but we don't want to sit in the semi-darkness with our blinds down and we prefer to have the windows and doors wide open to let in lots of air, but by evening the place is like an oven. We have an internal hallway which is normally pretty stuffy but in this weather it's delightfully cool which gives you an idea of how hot the rest of the place is! Basically it's over 30 degrees in the living room and the kitchen must be closer to 40 when I'm cooking. The early mornings and the nights are starting to feel a bit chilly though - come lovely Autumn and soothe our fevered brows :))

Don't!

It's one of the first things they told us...open the windows during the night and the early morning, the moment the temperature rises close everything, that keeps the hottest air out.

I do that and it works...with such an air conditioner even better.

But cooking is torture!

Atch
9 Aug 2018  #374

the moment the temperature rises close everything till the evening/night,

No wonder you need the air conditioner! You know you can get the occasional breeze even on a hot day, the thoughts of sitting in an airless box,God, it doesn't bear thinking about. Although now, on reflection that might explain why the hallway is so cool, it doesn't get much air!!

And yes, if you have an air conditioner you SHOULD keep the windows closed, otherwise it doesn't work properly. Another nice thing about air conditioners is that with the windows closed, if you live in the city, you don't hear the street noise, so it's both cool and peaceful :)

the thoughts of sitting in an airless box,God, it doesn't bear thinking about.

I hear you....I thought exactly the same...I usually can't stand closed windows either. Even in deep winter they are open (mostly). But it has become a matter of survival!!!

And my tower is not a real expensive inbuild air conditioner, it works with inner fans...we call it "ventilator" though...

Genau, Ms Atch! Getting off the Warsaw-Berlin express train at the end of May, I experienced it myself. I've been occasionally checking Berlin's temperatures ever since my return to Warsaw and generally I must say they have it even a little hotter than we do.

The temperature in Berlin during my stay were always between 31-33 degrees Centigrade. At the hotel we went to the reception desk to complain about the weak air-condition system, so they gave us a ventillation unit which helped a little bit.

If you ever happen to visit Berlin during such hot days, I recommend three things:
a. Going to the nice park bordering the Charlottenburg Palace with the river Spree on its eastern side.
b. Going to the park bordering the Sanssouci Palace. The avenue from the fountain at the foot of the Sanssouci Terraces to the Neues Palais is splendid and very quiet, with only a few tourists walking along. Unfortunately, we did not reach the Neues Palais itself as it was quite a long walk and the weather was really hot.

c. An almost three-hour boat trip along the river Spree across the middle of Berlin. We started near Warschauer Strasse and the famous East Side Gallery and went to nearly as far as Charlottenburg Palace and then back. As they sold cold drinks and ice-cream on board, we had a very enjoyable journey indeed.

And remember - Berlin is in what was once Germania Slavica, so you would feel there almost as if you were in Warsaw!

Not necessary a Pole, but a member of the Stodor or Hevellian tribe most certainly. Have you ever heard of the Stodor, BB? Their main stronghold was Brenna, also known as Branibór. The stronghold was conquered for the first time by Heinrich der Vogler in 928 after a long siege. Then it was re-captured by the Slavic people in 983 during their famous Slawienaufstand. From then on there had been bloody combats between the Germanen and the Slawen until the final conquest of the city in 1157 by Albrecht der Bär.

And as a result of that conquest the city of Branibór had been renamed into...Brandenburg!

Before the Slavs came germanic tribes roamed there (before the "Völkerwanderung")...and before the them it were the Celts....and before them the Neanderthals...and before them the bears and wild boars and mosquitos! :)

Central Europe was a back and for like no other...due the lack of natural barriers.

dude you are confusing semi-nomads with permanent settlements. There is no doubt that the first permanent settlement at the area were Slavic.

Anyhow Germanic and Slavic doesn't equate German and Polish. Only tribal Germans would claim something of the sort.

I prefer the semi darkness keeping my place cool all day taking a nap at the hottest part of the day with the a/c running on low and get up and go for a swim in the lake.

That let in lots of air is lots of HOT air that heats up your house like an oven.
Now that just doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
Why sit around in a hot house when you could go swimming in a cool lake.
Open your windows after sunset and do your cooking and shower for the next day.
I stick to tuna salads, fresh fruit and ice tea on hot days.

The temperature in Berlin during my stay were always between 31-33 degrees Centigrade.

You sure would not appreciate Jamaica then where it AVERAGES 29C to 33C year around.
I would much rather sweat than shiver personally.

Germanics are very young in comparison to Slavs (ie Sarmats). They are offspring of Slavs. Manic offspring.

Or tribal Poles/Serbs...

I would much rather sweat than shiver personally.

I thought about that and found that I prefer the cold. When I shiver there is always some more clothing to put on or the heating to turn up.

But the heat? There is no escape...

I think I would even prefer some global "icing" to that global warming.

Our grandkids will be grateful...I know I would.

Today, why don't you ask random people how much they would be willing to pay now to lower the annual average temperature (aka climate) by 1/4 degree C today. Not in the next century. Today, before the sun goes down, and for sure.

My prediction: you won't get a single euro. People bs talk about their concerns regarding global warming knowing that they will never get a bill by mail and payable in the next 20 days. They talk s*** because it makes them relevant and, as any talk, it's cheap.

BTW, how much are willing to send to the global warming cause right now based on what they told so far? This calls for a number, not an essay.

So true...it's so hard planning for a future I will only observe from afar, safely tucked away on some white cloud playing my harp...people are that way.

what they told so far?

Today the news reported that the oceanic scientists just reported that the Atlantic hurricane season should be below normal.
NOAA now predicts below or near normal active season with 9 to 13 named tropical storms with 4 to 7 developing into hurricanes and up to 2 becoming major, possibly none.

"There is a 60-percent chance this season will be below or near normal, 30-percent chance near or above normal and 10-percent chance of being above normal," NOAA's Lead Hurricane Forecaster Gerry Bell said.

Which means that the global warming reached the killer stage. It's sooo hot over there that even winds are too tired to blow hard.

Would you like to run around at 200 miles an hour when it's 95 F?
