Music Thread

I didn't know whether to put this here or in the Polish music thread. You could call it Polonia music.

Sylvia Tella, a British musician who used to do backing vocals for Boney M is part Polish. Some good songs too.

What every man would like to hear.

Can't stand Kid Rock ever since he turned into an annoying right-wing mouthpiece.

What the fvck does this have to do with music?

When you dump shlt like this on a thread don't complain that it smells bad for a while...

Why don't we concentrate on music now?

Good idea...Keep politics out and I will.

Have you ever heard that song, "How to make friends and influence people" ?

Novichok

No. Play it.

Are you the only lady left in this venue now? :)

Paulina is still around and so is Lenka. Rozumiemnic showed up a couple of days ago and has disappeared again. They need a few women around the place to keep them in order ;)

Just stopped by

You're probably right, ha ha. I didn't read through all sections of the forum, but conversations seem to have turned rougher and more hostile over the past three years. If that is even possible...

What the fvck does this have to do with music?

A lot more than you want to admit. Remember the Dixie Chicks? I can already hear you whining when Taylor Swift will tell her fan base to vote blue in November.

don't complain

I don't. Do you?

I don't. Do you?

Only if the other guy doesn't think like him or is a different color.
Thats where we differ, I like all kinds of music.

I hate black music, black voices, and fat black broads...

When they start playing Chopin I will play rap.

It's actually quite simple. I don't like Kid Rock's music in general and I like the old Ted Nugent stuff, but I don't like both of their political virtue signaling. Same goes for any left wing musician. Old style protest songs are a different story. They had their time and purpose.

I hate black music

You hate blues? How sad is that.

Like I said, when blacks start playing Chopin, I will play blues.

Why only the blacks? Do you play Chopin?

Yes, I do.

This will be my last post tonight if anyone gives a flying Pa-toot

No, nobody cares about posts from pathetic, weak trolls.

I just saw that you posted a few songs by Jeff Beck earlier. Here's another one I particularly like

Yeah, nice post!

Did he support Clinton or Obama?

Don't be silly Rich.......

@Joker

As usual, superb posts!

Die Antwoord

Awful and painful to my ears!

They need a few women around the place to keep them in order ;)

Agreed 100%!!

@TheOther

I quite liked your Brainticket post, but I'm a sucker for Psychedelic Rock!

@Feniks

Loved all your posts!Thank you!

Ah, Dr. Feelgood. Haven't heard that one in a long time.
@ TheOther

So here's another one!

Thanks! Good old times. My favorite Dr. Feelgood song used to be "She's a windup"...

If you like psychedelic music (Ginger Baker on drums!):

@TheOther

Good posts, I am beginning to see where you are coming from. You are obviously a bit younger than me, but most people are.
You are into rebellious Rock and therefore probably liked some Punk Rock.....but I think you are a touch older than the "Punk Generation"... am I right?

Anyway, my only post on here tonight is this one, from a British Blues/Rock band that had some success but never really made it.

The Groundhogs.

I used to work in the music industry and have been touched and influenced by many styles over the years. I listen to almost everything as long as it's unique and technically excellent. The South African band Die Antwoord for example is certainly not for everyone (you thought they are awful, right?), but if you listen closely you will find that they are not only unique but also very political and funny. Love MC5, if you know them, and the Mothers of Invention. Old Pink Floyd (pre The Wall), Man, Hawkwind, Wishbone Ash, early Police, Stranglers, Prodigy, Ratatat ... the list is endless.

Those are beautiful Novi.
Not just a bunch of noise like the rest of this crap.
Great post !

I really liked that track you posted although I've not heard of them before. The video reminds me of The Prodigy for some reason.

Welcome back btw.

Great post Feniks !

The video reminds me of The Prodigy for some reason.

It reminded me of some of Tangerine Dreams stuff.

Welcome back btw.

Yes, welcome back my friend.

Welcome back

Thanks, man. Won't stay long, though.

Well, comparing Prodigy and Die Antwoord is kind of a stretch. Early concerts of the Prodigy were a little like that.

Not just a bunch of noise like the rest of this crap.

Did you know that Queen (and also Bruce Springsteen for example) were considered total "crap" by highschoolers in the 1970s? They thought their music is something for pubescents.

comparing Prodigy and Die Antwoord is kind of a stretch.

Not so much the music but as soon as I saw the 'I fink you freeky' video it reminded me of The Prodigy video for 'Breathe'. Same style of video, both shot in darkness, dingy surroundings, insects etc.

Maybe it's just me that can see it though:

Might as well post something else while I'm here..

Venus in Furs - Velvet Underground

Captain Beefheart - Tropical Hot Dog Night

You're right, very similar. I've never seen the official version of "Breathe". Venus in Furs is a classic, very nice. Captain Beefheart is not really my thing, although I like some of his songs:
