You hate blues? How sad is that.
Very sad.
@TheOther
I agree with most of your musical tastes, not all, but most.
@Feniks
Loved your Prodigy post! The other two were OK.

Quite a nice Beefheart post.
I still love this one, Frank Zappa with Captain Beefheart.

Did you know that Queen (and also Bruce Springsteen for example) were considered total "crap" by highschoolers in the 1970s?
I disagree as one of my all time favorite concerts was Bruce Springstein back then.
When he did "Cadillac Ranch" the crowd erupted. (Little girl with her blue jean so tight drivin' thru the Arizona night....you're my last love and you're my last chance🎵🎵🎵) 🤪
Oh man does that ever bring back the memories when I was young and wild breaking the law.
Thanks for that one TheOther

I loved Queen's first three albums but after that lost interest.
As for Bruce Springsteen, I always thought he was crap!

There are some really crappy bands out there.... We should have a contest who can find the worst band/song?

I loved Queen's first three albums but after that lost interest.
The only interesting song they ever released was "Bohemian Rhapsody". That one was something completely new and unusual. After that they were hyped just like Nirvana years later. No substance and repetitive. Same goes for Springsteen. His first album "Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J." was okay, the rest was more like "where have I heard this one before".
European teenagers in the first half of the 1970s were all about Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, UFO and the like. Their American peers were more into Lynyrd Skynyrd, Grand Funk Railroad and similar. Then came the effing disco phase and ruined everything for the next few years until Punk and bands like Dire Straits, TRB and Police freed everyone from the grip of the music industry.
We should have a contest who can find the worst band/song?
Worst band? Easy:

Yeah, but maybe restricted to the more popular bands...... there are far too many crap bands at the lower end.

You got it mixed up again from your peanut gallery.
She was of age and she gave me the blow, remember, my college days and underage virgins can't get into college.
Hey Snitch, have you ever had a virgin in your life time ? lol
No
No wonder you are so jealous.
You are right though about the cocaine music by Bruce, try this one.

Only somebody as gullible and dim as you would take my offer up on buying the Mackinaw Bridge from me. Hoot !
What a dimwit you are.
'Bridge over Troubled Waters' was one of my favorites to chill to back in the 70's.
'Sounds of Silence' back in the 60's before most of you were even born.
Now that was what you call music and not just a bunch of noise.

Atomic Rooster. Terrible band. The Proclaimers come a close second.
I would call "Modern Heavy Blues"
I like that track.
Bit of a diverse selection from me:
The Ruts - Babylons Burning
Squeeze - Take Me I'm Yours
XTC - Dear God
Siouxsie And The Banshees - Spellbound

And the song it's based on. From 1932.
Actually it was Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
The first true gospel recording star,
Tharpe rose to fame in the 1930s and '40s before pioneering the technique of heavy distortion on the electric guitar.
Her music was the immediate predecessor to rock 'n' roll and served as an inspiration to every early rock star worth knowing, from Elvis Presley and Little Richard to Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis.
But what does an old dinosaur like me know about rock n' roll music compared some British Nerd born during the disco era.

Perhaps you're confused.
The song was based on a 1920s piece from London. most famously recorded in 1932 by Al Bowlly.
And it isn't 'rock and roll' music. But what do I know compared to some decrepit boomer born thousands of miles away.
BTW thanks for calling me a 'nerd' (those guys earn a fortune) and saying I was born during the 'disco era'. That makes me feel young again.

Perhaps you're confused.
Perhaps you are just jealous that Sister Rosetta was the beginning of rock n' roll.
And the song it's based on. From 1932.
I reply to your 1932 besting you so you then double down and post, "bases on the 20's". lol
Typical European
BTW thanks for calling me a 'nerd'
I apologize jon, I thought I was responding to the other Brit.
