Poland does not have a full time professional army big enough to handle anything on their own even with billions from the US. Why should the US give anything to any country for free? Because everyone wants the US to continue as the worlds police force when other countries are too afraid to do something? Trump was about to pull the US out of NATO. What about Poland and Europe then? Completely F'd is what the EU would be now. As for Afghanistan, that is the place that should have been nuked repeatedly. There are reports of 40 year olds getting conscription papers (even in WW1 and 2 the U.K. never conscripted people over 35) and even better reports of soldiers from the fake 'republics' in the Donbas trying to retreat back into russia and being refused entry by border guards!

Again, what would the EU and Poland be if Trump had been re-elected and pulled out of NATO. This was his plan and he made it public. Putin would be banging Polish girls himself by now had that happened, and all of the former Soviet states would be slowly brought back. This is a fact, not guess work or supposition. Poland without the US could have been the target first instead of Ukraine.

Why keep US interest in Europe? Because the US is made up of families from European roots. Giving up on Europe after all the sacrifice of WW2 and the Cold War would be a pill no real American could swallow. This is why NATO exists with the US still in it.

Again, no one in NATO GAF what Russia thinks or feels. It is their problem. Again, if not for all the POS ruling Russia and how they act historically, as evidenced by Ukraine today, NATO would not exist. Russia can not help themselves. It is only a matter of time and Russia will be forced to move on from its past and adopt new ways of operating in todays world. If not, they will continue to be outcast's, and the world moves on without them because we do not need them.
