russia - an entire country on crack cocaine????

There is no shortage of stupidity in Russia. Combine that with fear and an ideology that promotes snitching on your neighbors and family members, and you have this retarded way of thinking. I hope every one of the POS either gets a bullet to the head, or comes out in the future talking about how they had to speak this way out of fear. Anyone who actually believes these a$$ clowns is an even bigger retard than the retard in the Kremlin.

Nothing of this would happen if imbecilic NATO didn`t want to spread.

if imbecilic NATO didn`t want to spread

NATO didn't "spread" it was invited in by countries that very rightly don't trust russia.... only countries full of irredeemibly stupid people trust russia...

NATO never bombed a country that didn't deserve even more bombs...

Serbia begging to get in the EU and have all the advantages. How do you explain that? NATO was not expanding to Ukraine, Ukraine was denied admission in 2014, and again right after the illegal Russian invasion. Russia by invading pushed Sweden and Finland to join. Thats how Fing smart Russia is. Get into a war they can not win, provoke two more countries to join NATO, and then get your a$$ kicked by Ukraine on the field. This is Russia, home of the incompetent, land of the rapist.

To the pro-ukrops on this forum, have you no shame?

You are labelling others as "nazis" while this is who you support?

There will be no glorious ukranian victory. it will be a stalemate, hey let's pretend it's peace till we re-arm and go again.

The russian government will not collapse. (unless replaced by ultra-nationlists) which will be way worse.
Sanctions have not worked. One can still buy iphones in moscow. In a globalised economy it was stupid to think that the mass of entrepreneurs playing with parallel imports would stop what russia needed to produce its cruise missiles.

Green german insanity meets the bear. no nuclear no fracking, and the eu expects solidarity in not having hot showers to cover up the german betrayal for the the last 20 years. good luck with that.

russian advance has been halted, if u want a meat grinder wait till the ukranians utilise the exact same tactics in trying to take kherson. as for crimea lol.

time to wake up and face reality, the ruskis will not give up for 10 years, so why waste thousands of lives over 1km?

fight like hell till winter then it's over.

{edit} no matter the war of attrition over the next 12 months, it is a hail mary pass to think that the ukranians can take tens and hundreds of kilometres of territory that has been occupied by the invaders and it's obvious that this war will end in peace talks. When that happens can be years from now.

@amiga500
Have to agree with most of this my friend. One caveat being Ukraine will likely take back a chunk of territory before winter. Then it is negotiating time. Unless a miracle happens, Ukraine simply does not have the million soldiers they need to win outright and take everything back.

Sanctions have not worked

So what should the world have done... nothing? Applauded? Sent more money (like.... Germany?)

They've worked to a large extent in hollowing out the national economy, but that's only partially useful since the russian government doesn't really care how much its policies impoverish the country (outside of Moscow).

Anyone who knew anything about russia knew that sanctions would have an indirect and difuse effect.

Any peace talks will only be used by russia to rest rearm and attack again. russia has no 'peace' setting, it's an entire culture built around violent conquest - beat them back or be beaten by them

Of course it doesn't help that the self-styled 'leaders' of the EU have been at best worthless (France) and at worst de facto pro-russian (Germany, no matter what they say their actions consistently support russia and a lot of countries are going to remember that....).

But Ukraine can't give up and any kind of russian victory "peace talks" will be just that, a russian victory means worse in the future, russian spokespeople have made it perfectly clear they have no intention of stopping with Ukraine... if you don't want russian tanks in Poland - keep supporting Ukraine.

They came in front of the grill house to mobilize the guys, and ran away to avoid getting a beating.

In Zakarpattia, they got also a beating.

In Lvov a beating as well.

But Ukraine can't give up

Sure it can. It seems you folks only read military-related news from Ukraine, but ignore completely the developments taking place in civilian life. Discontent is brewing in Ukraine, and as winter approaches it will only get worse. People there are not blind, and they see that the West gives just enough weapons to allow them to hold their ground, but not enough for them to win. On news websites, under relevant articles, comments like "these guys want to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian" proliferate (today I saw a bunch of these comments under an article about how the US said it will take some YEARS before Western jet fighters can be transferred to Ukraine) . Sometimes, you even see posts along the lines of, "we'll give up to the Russians, and then see how these two-faced kurvas will feel about not helping us when we needed it".

People are pissed at Zelensky, for things like doing a glamorous Vogue shoot, or engaging in petty political games while a war is raging. Recently he revoked the citizenship of certain political opponents (ostensibly for violating Ukraine's dual citizenship law), barring their return to Ukraine from trips abroad where they had travelled to drum up more aid. People are sick and tired of the so-called national TV marathon, where all the channels in Ukraine have been broadcasting for the past few months the same stream produced in Kiev (suspiciously featuring only pro-Zelensky voices).

The biggest problem, of course, is that Zelensky has not changed the laws forbidding men to leave the country. If these masses of mostly unemployed men were irate three months ago, now they are blistering mad. Many haven't seen their wives and children in half a year. A recent initiative by the government to allow men to leave the country starting Sept. 1 for periods of up to 7 days, in exchange for posting a 200K Hrivnya collateral has caused unanimous disgust. It's clear it favors wealthier people, and that very likely most of them will not return. In brief, things in Ukraine are approaching a boiling point. If they do not sit down for negotiations, then there is a very real chance there will be a military coup.

While he's lauded as the "Churchill of our times" in the west, he's becoming an increasingly unpopular figure at home.

Sent more money (like.... Germany?)

WHO ! ?
You mean us American tax payers who have been burdened the most by far ?
biden announced Wednesday that he is sending $2.98 billion more in new military aid to Ukraine that will enable forces there to fight for years to come.

Boy will that ever grease some back pockets.
The U.S. has sent more than $54 billion to Ukraine since the war against Russia started.
Who is the second biggest contributor ?
POLAND is !
Poland once again came in second place with its support to Ukraine equaling nearly 0.18% of its GDP !
The U.K. came in third followed by Germany at fourth.

Is this the bright future you want for ukraine? citizens arrested for criticizing the government?

russia isn't a culture, it's a disease, time to stop it from spreading its nastiness elsewhere....

Its mistake. Only balance within Slavic world keep Poland safe no matter idiotism of Poland`s politicians and mass media. But that`s a waste of credibility of Poland as state.

Sanctions are having a huge effect - no doubt about that

Putin cannot go through a year of these sanctions.

There should be no peace talks because Russia will simply ignore the result

The answer is more sanctions, more weapons and long term to keep finding alternatives to Russian oil - can be US, Norway, Canada, alternative energies whatever.

People are pissed at Zelensky

some people are always disconted. No doubt there are issues in Ukrianien as well as Russian agents. The point is they are at war and during the war the normal politcal debate is suspended. Seems like some Ukrainians do not get it.

As to Zelensky ragardless of political or jurnalists exaggeration Ukrainians are lucky they have him.
He is a good leader and he is learning on the job. I don't think that realistically speaking they could get someone better.
I wonder if Belarus will flip over from Russia. I think it would a good thing to get rid of Lukashenka.
Belarusans are frimly against the war.

They sure are.
A deepening cost-of-living crisis in Britain is about to get worse, with millions of people expected to pay about 80% more a year on their household energy bills starting in October.

Thank goodness for global warming.

The answer is more sanctions

Lol. Like what? There's nothing left to sanction. Actually, there is... Sanction the sale of pharmaceutical products to Russia. That'll teach us! When a Russian gets cancer, and can't receive oncological treatment - he'll realize the error of supporting his government against the benevolent West.

comments like "these guys want to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian"

But this sentence (as well as the other one you quoted) is obviously taken straight out of some "Putin's Trolls Handbook". I see them all over the Polish internet as well - "they want to fight the Russians to the last Pole"; Polish pro-Putinist bloggers/youtubers, journalists and politicians have been repeating this for ages (you could find very similar sentences in "Myśl Polska", "Najwyższy Czas", said by people like Michalkiewicz, Englegard or Olszański). It is evident that Ukraine is fighting Russia not because "the West made them" but because they want to defend their country. Otherwise they would have given up long ago. Poland is helping Ukraine not because we are manipulated into it by Americans but because Russians made it abundantly clear that they won't stop with Ukraine, so we are basically helping ourselves.

People are willing to die to avoid being a part of Russkiy Mir, Bobi. They are willing to evaporate in an explosion, have their limbs torn out by a tank shell or die in the mud with a bayonette between their ribs just to not be a part of Russia ever again. If that doesn't make an intelligent, thinking person like you to stop, process this fact in your head and draw conclusions, then I don't know what would.

I am not a clairvoyant, so I won't predict the final outcome of this war but whatever happens, you lost most of Ukraine/Ukrainians forever.
