Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 6

Novichok

Ukraine now has more r*SSian tanks than r*SSia does.

Russia now has more Ukraine than Ukraine has Russia.

Russia now has more Ukraine

It doesn't though, does it.

It has some illegally occupied bits of land that it's losing day by day.

Try not to be a wise guy; it's not big, it's not clever, and nobody's impressed...

How many square feet is a "bit"?

jon357

Who knows. The world uses metres now.

washingtontimes.com/news/2023/may/22/bosnian-diplomat-zlatko-lagumdzija-warns-about-rus

I guess Putin has a soft spot for separatists.

When this Lagumdzija guy speaks of further integrating with Europe, I got a feeling he means more than just further opening up trade but ultimately becoming an EU member.

Might be best for the West to make in-roads in the Balkans to stave off the emerging Rus-Sino axis from pinching Western influence more than it already has.

Rus-Sino axis

It's a weak axis, providing r*SSia loses as of course it must.

The Balkan state that supports r*SSia is Serbia. There's very little to trade with them, they're strategically insignificant and in any case have applied to join the EU.

The Bosnians want as little to do with r*SSia as possible and of course they're a small country with a largely rural population and no real access to the sea.

separatists.

And the difference between "separatists" and "freedom fighters" is exactly what?

It's a weak axis, providing r*SSia loses as of course it must.

..."weak" and "must". Even God himself wouldn't say that but the PF chief strategist who knows everything...no doubts, no hesitation...

BTW, must or else what? Did you send your orders to Moscow? If not, what are you waiting for?

Perspective...of the separatist or freedom fighter.

..exactly what...how many...Did you.....what?

You don't need to try to pointlessly try to contradict every post here you know.

Discussions, like life, goes on very nicely without you and your constant drivel puts off people from posting and is slowly killing the forum, not that you care.

It's a weak axis,

I beg to differ. Russia, even if it loses bigly, still has an important part in pushing back on western influence through the world.

an important part in pushing back on western influence

Pushing back on 'western influence' if that's what you call democracy, human rights and tolerance of the individual is a dangerous thing, especially as eastern 'influence' is essentially authoritarianism and southern 'influence' is chaos. Given that China currently operates concentration camps and a 'social credit' system I suspect you would prefer to live in within the sphere of western values.

And of course when r*SSia loses, its influence will be even more diminished than it is now, as will that of its few allies.

There's a reason that almost every single country who were under the thumb of the r*SSian Empire in either it's pre or post 1917 iterations has got as far away from their malign grasp as possible.

And, also, consider things like this: chinapower.csis.org/series-china-russia-relations/

jon357

Looks clear enough in t( post

A very large part of this war is against the threat of the erosion of western influence and values that could potentially occur should r*SSia regain influence in the world and economic/military strength. It took long enough and too many lives lost over the decades to hobble their malign influence. The dangers of China are well enough known.

If Margaret That her and Ronald Reagan had been offered the chance to neutralise the threat to the world that a strong r*SSia poses for only a trillion pounds, they'd have jumped at it.

Are you surprised, Grunni? Even cursory knowledge of German politics as well as of Ukrainian history should somewhat soften the "shock". Poland always gives more than she can, with generous magnanimity, only to be properly f*cked over later by those from whom she expected gratitude. Want some examples from history? No, I didn't think so.

As the old proverb says: "if you have a soft heart, you need to have a durable rectum" (or something along those lines).

I just would have hoped that Ukrainians wouldn't repeat their Germanic connections at the cost of relations with Poland (which was done during A-H era and ww2)

But, I am afraid that they are willing to repeat those mistakes yet again. Mainly due to Germany being richer at the moment, just as then and taking Poland for granted yet again.

Seeing how Poland is arming herself it's a big gamble on their part.

Seeing how Czechs, Slovaks and Croatians relationship with Poland are rather positive despite German influence and even in hostile situations (1918 era and 1938 and 1968 comes to mind). I wouldn't rule it out as something positive for the future, but then again them being in a weaker position then Poland might have something to do with it (despite Czechs thinking they are in a stronger position somehow, which came as a surprise to them in 1918, 1938, 1968 and in todays times)

I am thinking about possibility of a privately owned army within Russia for the sole purpose of defence of Russia and all Slavic states and very Co-operative with the UN with regard to peace keeping missions in non-Slavic states. Funded mainly by Russian Federation but, also by all Slavic states

With black and yellow coloured flag, as a little cheeky move towards the Austrians considering their modern choice of flag

In Bakhmut a restaurant owner and 60,000 convicts destroyed an army that NATO trained for 9 years. Reminds me of the farmers in sandals that kicked the US out of Afghanistan. The US Govt spends a trillion dollars >per year< on a military that can't win anything. What a waste.

Can you imagine if it was in reverse? Convicts Destroy Russian Army!!! would be on the front page of every Western newspaper and posted here every five minutes!!!

That karma is a major *****...I am talking about dead orcs, meat grinder, dog food, and other PF literary accomplishments.

Hey, Russia haters, when is Crimea going to have a NATO naval base?

cms neuf
24 May 2023  #353

It is not even sure if it has been conquered.

It took 10 months when Putin thought his "special forces" could conquer Kiev in 3 days - and this is the fruits of this meat grinder ? An unheard of narket town that will be reconquered by June.

When will Crimea have a Ukrainian naval base ? End of 2024. They can even dredge up some of your sunken ships as exhibits of obsolete technology

Gruni, I did send that page through the translator and I must say I'm baffled....what is the guy's problem????

What is YOUR problem actually? When Germany isn't doing enough you cry, when we do more it's also not okay because Poland is for a moment not in the spotlight? Immediately it's "Molotov-Ribbentrop" all over again? REALLY???

Is that jealousy? Is that paranoia? What is it!

@Bratwurst Boy
Caution simply, nothing more.
Poland have been in alliance with both Austria in the past and Prussia, Teutonic Order and now in NATO with modern Germany. So when similar type of behaviour emarge as in the past, waryness increases.

Remember that Poles have been occupied by Prussia/German Empire in the past and know how the German society, mindset and traditions work. Due to know it to survive in it and prosper. So certain things are to be expected (good things and bad things)

I have yet to find a German being wary of Polish occupation, so I think you can easily give us a break on this one.

I would be more then happy if I am mistaken regarding Scholz, but I have a hard time trusting him. Which also many Germans seem to. He is cunning, in a not so very hidden unobvious way. Tell me I am wrong, I don't mind.

Just would preferred a better statesman for Germany that's all

So when similar type of behaviour emarge as in the past, waryness increases.

....please explain! Where do you compare the decision by the Chancellor to raise the aid for Ukraine with past behaviour, and which one?

Which also many Germans seem to. He is cunning

He is not a very popular Chancellor and many again are criticizing this decision of his....would you prefer him doing less for Ukraine? Again not being sure of his support at all? What???

Kashub1410
24 May 2023  #357

@Bratwurst Boy

It's not only about him, but certain things that don't seem to change.

Germany likes/liked to see herself as a country bringing civilisation eastward, same with Russia too btw. While disregarding Poland's achievement in doing so (by creation of a Union and marriage, not by military conquest btw) which could be a thing Germany ought to look positively in modern times due to Germany peaceful invitation and EU enlargement of Poland and several other central-eastern European countries! :)

Unless that's looked upon as a mistake?

There is also Poland being snubbed away from as one of the main avanguard fighting communism in 1920 war, yet most European states looked to Germany and does so to this day as the Anti-Communist country of the past, not to mention that every non-Pole or non-German seem to underline the significance of the fall of Berlin while downplaying or ignoring the significance of Poland's solidarity movement.

Not to mention the impact of Socialism on Europe and the world at large while portraying the PPS, it's continuation as fascist just because it's not German in origin basically.

BB's there are grievances

Bratwurst Boy
24 May 2023  #358

BB's there are grievances

Agreed....and justified ones.

But, Gruni.....the same kind of arguments were made in the beginning of this war, with Germany to hesitant, to russian-friendly, planning some domination or the other, shafting Poland again....don't you see this? Now there is a clear decision to the contrary and Poland again shoots against Germany, but now because of that change.

Where do you think that polish mindset will lead? Do you think there will ever come some good out of it?

GefreiterKania
24 May 2023  #359

Where do you think that polish mindset will lead?

It's a mindset developed over hundreds of years and it will probably take similar amount of time to change it.

Do you think there will ever come some good out of it?

It's irrelevant in politics. In the press and in popular culture it will continue at the slightest hint of historical analogy, but it won't have any real consequences. We just have to live with that. For at least one or two more generations. Actions have consequences that extend well beyond the time they are performed.

Bratwurst Boy
