Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 6

Russia is destined by fate to be strong.

We were brought to so many dismal lows, during our history - but nothing can kill us.

Putin, Navalny, or someone else - we are not going anywhere. We will make your life difficult.

Yes, I know that everyone judges reality by their own experience. For a Russian the idea that some other part of the world is run by other means than a corrupt oligarchic autocracy must sound like mental illness.

Russians are making their own life difficult. We will manage.

you brought yourself there, stop blaming others for your failures.

We will make your life difficult.

No picnic without ants... weird role to take for yourself...

Better than being a bit player in your theater of the absurd.

Being on the right side of history regarding a war of agression

The aggression is all Western with two warmongers, the US and the poodle, leading the charge.
No, this war started way before Feb 24, 2022, and your role in it is contemptible. Your stupidity is breathtaking as it hurts Germany and its citizens.

The USSR should have given Reagan the middle finger and kept Eastern Germany forever as a buffer.
They were naive and trusting.

This time, no more jokes. The game is for keeps.

FateFate ,I doubt fate will favour you for long. You would need to back-up it with a new quality....and values.

The game is for keeps.

Thats is why Poles want to keep helping Ukrainians. Most of us don't fight in this war (except for some volunteers) but many support Ukrainians because in their present we see our past experience.

Poles also fought long and hard to be free of Russian dominance, corruption and terror. Our ancestors who participated in this fight were sometimes exiles or war refugees. After many lost battles we finally managed to win our independence in 1989 and were finally able to choose our destiny, this time without Kremlin's meddling.

We believe every nation & nation state should have the right to choose its sovereign path. Today Russia is once again indulging in its imperial fantasy and trying to subjugate Ukrainians, and so we support their fight for what we can already enjoy: freedom to make our own choices. In comparison, subjugation may seem a simpler, less painful path. And yet, if they choose to fight for the right to choose their own destiny, we feel they deserve our support.

Hahaha!

You won your independence when Russians became bored with you.

Russians did not lift a finger to stop you leaving.

Such monsters are we.

@Novichok

They were naive and trusting

They were broke, starving and in desperate need of Western supplies.

this war started way before Feb 24, 2022

True. It started several years ago when Russia occupied Crimea and parts of Donbass.

No. Russia has that bad reaction to NATO crawling up to its doors and planning to turn their naval base in Sevastopol into its own.

Russia is weird that way...

It started several years ago when Russia occupied Crimea and parts of Donbass.

Tell this cute story to German kids. Even they will tell you to shove it...

Russians did not lift a finger to stop you leaving.

In hindsight, do you believe it was a mistake?

Poland had 460,000 standing peace-time army (930 thousand after mobilisation) back then and a couple of millions of trained reservists. And, make no mistake, Poland would fight you (as your generals rightly predicted eight years before, when USSR gave up the idea of "intervention" during Poland's Martial Law). Was Soviet Union realistically in postition to stop Poland from leaving?

Was Soviet Union realistically in postition to stop Poland from leaving?

Absolutely yes.

Would Poland forever become out of reach for Russia as a friendly Slavic nation? Probably.

Would this be wrong, morally and spiritually - yes. Would it forever damage Russia's standing amongst brother nations of Slavs - I think so.

This is why I think any Russian ruler with brains would not try to drown Poland in blood to stop it from leaving. We know Poles well enough, to understand that when they made up their mind it's best to just let them carry on.

But 500k or 3M, if we really wanted to stop you from leaving - we could do it. I am sure of this, as I am sure the sun will rise next morning.

Russia occupied Crimea

And currently, sea drones are able to sail 650km and attack a russian tanker on the other side of the Crimea, not bad, huh?

Amazing... that when it's a Russian crude oil tanker, liberals will cheer for its destruction in one of the world's most productive bodies of water. Planet be damned.

The tanker was empty, the CIA knew it.

Well then thank God for the CIA!

Yes, I have to say that USSR's authorities displayed high level of maturity and responsibility during, and immediately after, the collapse of the Soviet Union. Thank God there weren't many bitter-ender hardliners in power back then. I say mature and responsible and I will stick to that. Talking about maturity - today, if Poles want to lay flowers to commemorate Katyń then - in "hostile" Russia - there is a memorial where they can go and honor the victims (and it has been there for almost 25 years); at the same time in Ukraine Polish Prime Minister runs like an idiot with a makeshift wooden cross on an empty field because our "friends" are not yet mature enough to acknowledge the genocide.

śmiech przez łzy

This NATO and EU is not forever - I hope you understand.

Russians and Poles have had to deal with each other for 1,200 years. We need to find some way of being if not friends, then cooperative neighbors.

GefreiterKania
5 Aug 2023  #2,363

Nothing is forever, Bobi. And to this...

We need to find some way of being if not friends, then cooperative neighbors.

... I can only say: Amen!

By the way, when are you leaving this investment banking nonsense and coming back to Russia to get involved in serious politics? ;)
