Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 8

@Velund, sorry, but you make no sense. You wrote "anyone who was able to change it is responsible". So, I asked you how a teenage girl with no voting rights could "change it" and how was she "responsible" for something that was done by a government she never voted for?

Velund

. So, I asked you how a teenage girl with no voting rights could "change it"

Even if you cannot directly vote, you potentially was able to participate in activities that may change opinion of others, who already have voting right. This is why I mentioned meetings, that was presented by MSM as "opinion of people" and had many teenagers (paid?) who create solid looking crowd... So, if you never thinked about it, you acted exactly as those who had voting right but not appeared at polling station to express their opinion, and probably don't gaf about potential civilian victims somewhere in Iraq or Afghanistan... Why you now so much upset about Ukraine and so calm about Palestine?

Koreans

Out of curiosity, why do you keep bringing up Korea which was

a) a war started by Stalin when he gave Kim il-Sung the permission to invade

b) a defensive war and fully justified by international law from the Western point of view

c) had objectively a positive outcome for the Koreans who instead living under the nightmarish Kim regime get to live in one of the most prosperous places in the world?

Which is what is ultimately the difference between the USA and thr SU/Russia. The former has made mistakes and commited crimes, but influence has also made the life of many people better outside its' borders. While the greatest contribution Russia has made to the welfare of others was to leave them alone.

made the life of many people better

Tell us, how US make life of Cuban people better, by imposing many decades long suffrocating embargo on everything, just because Cuba fall out of their lapdogs list...

Stalin when he gave Kim il-Sung the permission to invade

Don't screw with me with your lame talking points.
North Korea did exactly what the Northern states did way back by invading the Southern states to unite the country - by brute force if necessary. It was necessary in both cases.

Which is what is ultimately the difference between the USA and thr SU/Russia.

The difference speaks well of Russia.
Russia decided it had enough of the NATO snake. The distance from the snake to Russia went down to ZERO miles - way too close for comfort.

The US was never threatened by North Korea. There were no Americans to protect in Korea. Korea was and still is 10,000 miles away. The US never asked the citizens of South Korea if they want to take the risks of death and destruction not to be communists. The US decided to be their "legal representative" on its own: Like it or not, we will come and kill as many of you as we want because we have that pet theory about dominos and that no changes are allowed without permission.

You are the only idiot alive today that tries to defend this crap. The 40,000 dead Americans and millions of others would have a different POV if they could speak from their graves.

Let me summarize for you and other idiots here:

Russia can argue that invading Ukraine was an act of self-defense because the snake came to Russia, not Russia to the snake.

The US cannot make such claims about Korea and Vietnam. That's why nobody with brains makes them anymore.

just because Cuba fall out of their lapdogs list...

Cuba forgot that all changes must be pre-approved in DC.

I'm afraid I don't have such high (and unrealistic) expectations of teenagers as the demagogical you :))) I don't think we can hold teenagers, who are still developing as people (let alone as citizens), accountable for what the government/state is doing. That's adults' job. Of course, that's great if a teenager is mature enough to have already formed political views, is interested in politics and is interested in what's going on in the world, but many teenagers aren't. For many it's a bit too early for that (or at least that's what it was like when I was a teenager).

and probably don't gaf about potential civilian victims

If you mean taking part in protests then I don't think there were any in my city and it wouldn't even enter my teenage head to organise one. And it wasn't because I didn't "gaf about potential civilian victims", but because I was just a shy, quiet teenager and not some political or social activist. You think I was born the way I am now and I was toppling governments as a 5-year-old? ;D Sorry, but no, I wasn't lol

Why you now so much upset about Ukraine and so calm about Palestine?

Um, sorry, but I could ask you the same question, because I don't think I recall you making even one comment in the "75 Years of Israel and the War" :)))

This is why only 25 and up taxpayers should be allowed to vote.
If you are neither, you are very likely an irresponsible idiot spending most of your time getting drunk or sobering up.

Why I like Russia...

A group of Russian lawmakers has introduced an amendment that seeks to declare mobile phones off-limits in all schools across the country.

...and this:

The Russian Supreme Court on Thursday outlawed the "international LGBT public movement," designating it as extremist.

...proving that sanity is not extinct.

Only 25 year olds can vote, but it's OK to throw 20 year olds into the meat grinder just so Putler can live for a few more months in his gold bunker ?

Only 25 year olds can vote,

I'd run with that. When the voting age was in the UK was lowered from 21 to 18 in 1969, most 18 year olds had been working for 3 years. Now there';s an extended adolescence.

Anyway, here's the official position in the war:

The Udmurtian army again showing why there is no sense in negotiations - surrendering prisoners are shot, not by Wagner but by regular Udmurtian troops.

German exports of cars and parts (blue) are up 5500% to Kyrgyzstan, 720% to Kazakhstan, 450% to Armenia and 340% to Georgia. All this stuff is going to r*SSians. Putler's cronies like their G-Wagons. Germany must stop this now.

5500% to Kyrgyzstan, 720% to Kazakhstan, 450% to Armenia and 340% to Georgia

So much for EU sanctions on Russia. It would even be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

Germany must stop this now.

They're not going to. Come on, Jon, you weren't born yesterday. The ultimate goal of German foreign policy, regardless of any particular government currently in power, is to kick the US out of Europe with the help of Russia (and the cheap energy sources they can provide) and when that happens dividing the spheres of influence. Their imperial ambitions are blatantly obvious and I fear the final outcome will be similar to the last two attempts.

Germany must stop this now.

The Germans will never stop this, why do you think Kim always has the latest Mercedes models. Everything is done legally.

GefreiterKania
3 Dec 2023  #405

The Germans will never stop this

Exactly.

If only they had a powerful army, then this idea of getting rid of the USA might make some (very little, but some) sense. As it is, they have no real armed forces to speak of and Russian economy is in war production mode, slowly but surely rebuilding their offensive potential. As Zorba the Greek would say - a beautiful catastrophe is coming.

Ooops... was checking PMs on the old account and forgot to logout before posting. Anyways, there is more to this war than we first thought and there is more to Brexit than we first thought. Interesting times. :-/

They're not going to. Come on, Jon, you weren't born yesterday.

They're not going to, however they really need to, not least because their imperialism always ends badly for them.

Their ambitions are quite transparent.

and there is more to Brexit than we first thought.

Or even less. Though I do wonder why some politicians who didn't support it were so strong about going through with it. If you aren't familiar with Cliodynamics, it's worth reading about. China is certainly harvesting data for it now, and I suspect other countries, some malign, some benign are paying that new science a lot of quiet attention..

And finally, old Iron aka Cojest. Zero idea about German foreign policy. Stationing Americans in Germany is something that Germany will never voluntarily give up. And the fact that legally sold German vehicles end up in sanctioned countries is only because of criminal energy of the intermediaries.

Cliodynamics, it's worth reading about.

Will check it out, thanks.

Stationing Americans in Germany is something that Germany will never voluntarily give up.

It's a case of keep your friends close and your enemies closer. As Jon said, German imperial ambitions are blatantly obvious and with PiS out of the way the things are looking a bit brighter for Russia and a bit darker for Ukraine. And for Poland? Time will tell...

Now there are reports, and a video on telegram of Russians killing Ukraines trying to surrender with hands locked behind their heads. The Russians then just mow them down with machine gun fire. It is exactly this kind of $hit that will keep the war going and war crime accusations flowing. Absolutely moronic and illegal behavior.

@Bratwurst Boy
Poland has learned to overestimate any potential threat. Rather then underestimate it, many Polish politicians of 1918-1939 underestimated Soviet Unions capabilities, Germany's capabilities and overestimated the capabilities of potential wanted allies.

I think it's a good thing that Poland and Germany are in NATO and EU together cause strictly formally no matter national interests and wants. It's impractical to war each other, which has not been a possible situation to have for a long time. I think both nations should use the situation to the fullest to boost own security and economy.

Poland's concern is if Germany wishes to become militaristic or not again, while Germany's concern is if Poland becomes too wealthy too quickly. Useally Germany has used Polish workforce as cheap labour, that can become more of a problem. Switching out Poles with Ukrainians, Arabs, Turks or Indians will provide different type of challenges but, also opportunities.

At least it shows spirit....ideas....plans...

I think the best idea at the moment is to remember that the West has two wings: one is the Anglosphere (the US, the UK, Canada and Australia) and the other is the EU. The way that Germany sometimes tries to undermine one of the wings seems a bit unreasonable in the current circumstances. Russia switched into war mode economy, so it looks like they won't be looking for peace anytime soon.

On the one hand, there are reasonable moves from Germany, like strengthening and centralising the EU more or developing new technologies in the energy sector, but on the other hand some actions are reckless (to say the least), like allowing their companies to bypass sanctions imposed on Russia, trying to weaken the American presence in Europe or taking financial and political actions against Poland - the most important frontier country on the EU's eastern flank. Perhaps Polish-German relations will improve now that Donald Tusk is bound to become the next Polish PM. Here's hoping.

It's impractical to war each other

Absolutely!

Right now I think Poland is better led than Germany....*shrugs*

The way that Germany sometimes tries to undermine one of the wings seems a bit unreasonable

In the worst case we all will have to bear that self-righteous behaviour for another two years (next big elections)....

The Euros sure seem to talk a big game but nothing on substance.

Weasels on our military welfare are very unlikely to contribute much.
I am still waiting for Europe to go to Ukraine and fight Russia individually or as NATO. It's their war after all...
