Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 8

PolAmKrakow

@pawian
Saremongering? WTF are you smoking? How is stating the obvious scaremongering?

Russia is having a lot of problems with planes commercially. A couple crashes recently and a lot of canabalizing of planes to keep others in the air. This will be a big problem until the war ends. Then there is the issue of all the planes Russia illegally kept that were owned or leased by and through other companies. Lots to unpack there.

But in the mean time, Ukraine has a financial problem, that is more problematic than Russia skirting any sanctions.

Poland has not stopped the delivery of new weapons to Ukraine. Poland has stopped delivering its own weapons to Ukraine and nothing more.

But did America ever make precision machining equipment in any serious quantity in the past?

I'm genuinely curious. I don't know. I know you have some patents for mechanical devices, but don't know how much you were immersed into the production aspect.

Here's a photo comparison of an Almaz-Antey (manufacturer of S-300/400) production floor in the 1960s and now.

In both cases the tooling was imported.

I heard that soldiers after coming back from the frontlines leave their old families behind and find themselves a new younger 'wife'!
I guess they are getting paid after all contrary to rumors.

It depends on the region. In some regions of Russia, the soldier's salaries being paid out during this war are seriously life changing. Nothing out of this world, but on par with average salary of an American worker (which gets a lot more mileage in Russia).

This is the explanation behind "Russia is trying to kill off its national minorities". No, we are not. It's just that in Buryatia, that amount of money is much more meaningful than in St. Petersburg or Moscow. The ethnic minority regions, with some exceptions, are below the national average in income. That's why recruitment efforts there yields proportionally better results.

Ukraine is offering a whole 15M Hrivna for dying in the front. That used to be more than $500K, now it's probably equivalent to $350-400K. In Ukraine that is serious money. One can buy a small apartment in the big cities, or a really nice place in the smaller places. Put kids through school. Pay for medical treatment. Etc.

We may have patents but the production is outsourced. We like flipping burgers more and it shows in obesity rates.
The last year when the US trade was balanced was 1970. No country can survive 900 billion in trade deficit, 34 trillion in debt, and 1.6 trillion in annual budget deficit.

Such is the criminality of the US government and the swamp that runs it in numbers.

they talked very loud when words were cheap, but bailed when the check arrived.

Bravo! Just as our sanctuary cities.

Semiconductors are a problem ? Wow - and Udmurtia was so close to developing an AI powered sprat can opener !

As for planes - it was always a dicey feeling getting on an internal flight there, now you are finding it hard to source spare parts it must be terrifying

@Bobko
The production floors in Detroit and Mexico where they machine all of the parts for cars are pretty amazing. Tool and dye work in the US is still a very large business. Custom work for small companies by boutique tool companies is booming in some of the old auto production factories. Lets not forget all of the plane manufacturing and parts for the aeronautics industry.

We may have patents

I meant you specifically, if you had had any exposure to production of the devices you patented?

@PAK

As far as I understand, both things you listed have a critical reliance on German and Japanese robots and cut/die tools (primarily those two countries). The guys in Mexico and Detroit, or the small guys working in bespoke projects - mostly use imported CNC machines.

I was on the production floor almost daily. I worked for a company that makes money counting machines - the kind you see at the banks and drug gang hideouts.

So in your industry, if certain components, or perhaps the entire machine - was manufactured in the United States, do you remember what country-origin equipment was used to fabricate the more sophisticated components?

The newest batch of sanctions includes a ban on Russian diamonds which brings the Kremlin about 4 billion$ a year.

Polam, stop worrying that the sanctions don`t work. They do but don`t expect results after weeks or months. Polish saying is: Heavenly mills grind slowly, but precisely.

Cheer up! Hey! We start a whole new year! It's Monday! hahahaha

Russian diamonds which brings the Kremlin about 4 billion$ a year

Same as with oil.

With oil you were taking money out of Rotterdam's pocket and putting it into Gujarat's.

Now with diamonds, you will be taking Antwerp and Tel Aviv's money, and again putting it into Gujarat.

I'm sure Gujaratis are very happy.

@Bobko
Respectfully, there are a lot of CNC manufacturers in the US. Most of the top CNC machines for wood products are also made in the US. I dont think anyone can say that any country makes the majority of tool and dye machines and are also the best. The auto and aero industries in the US are very self sufficient, and keep tight controls on the designs of those items, they are not made in other countries for the simplest reason of maintaining absolute control on replacement part production.

Not so fast. Diamonds can be easily tracked down where they come from. ANY import from Russia is banned. Even from Gujaratis. :):):)

With oil it is also a different matter than you are telling us. Europe doesn`t buy Russian oil except a few countries. We buy final products like gas or diesel from India.

Don`t worry, though. The next batch of sanctions will also put an end to such Indian tricks. :):):)

The US will be sanctioning Indian banks that do business with Udmurtia by barring them from the US economy. EU will follow.

So they will have a choice - help out a few immoral diamond traders or participate in the real business world.

Germany lost its 5th place in the rankings to Russia, just as the president predicted, Karin Kneissl has said

Those damn unintended consequences...

Russia has its own currency, large cash reserves and huge gold stocks. More importantly people who have had enough and are prepared to take the pain to fight back.

A bit wrong. For example, Microchip make all litography in Arizona fab, then uncut wafers goes in a dry neutral gas filled containers to Asia (Thailand IIRC) where it is cut to chips, tested , and the rest of labor-intensive operations is made. So, formally chips is made in US, but if Asian portion of production chain became inaccessible, Microchip in a first year or so will be able to produce just a few percents of current production volumes - and after serious investments.

That may be true. My response to Bobko is based on what was on the parts or the packaging as having been made outside of the US.

What nonsense is this Kneisel speaking ?

statisticstimes.com/economy/projected-world-gdp-ranking.php

In fact Germany has risen to number 3 in GDP, while Udmurtia has fallen 3 places to 11 and looks likely to be overtaken by Mexico, Spain and maybe Australia in 2024

You are probably talking about Purchasing Power, but there is nothing to purchase in Udmurtia

Here is a hilarious video of Russell stalking through a creepy abandoned mall trying to get an iPhone 15 - they are available, imported from Vietnamese criminals, at a price of 2.600 dollars, not supported and with most aps not available. Rest of the shops are boarded up, car park empty and some hilarious Chinese rip offs of Western brands

By trying to stifle our economic growth?

The only one doing that was your previous government. How much money did Poland did lose out again from the EU due to their attempts to undermine the independence of the judiciary? And in the end they lost power anyway. The only thing Germany is concerned about is when it comes to Poland's economy is whether they follow proper safety protocols and enviromental standards. Because whenever someone on the Polish side e.g. pollutes the Oder, it has inevitably consequences for us as well.

Tones but not those are not money you thinking about. I don't want those handouts keep them for your broken economy and African guests. Just don't make us pay for your folly!

As for the judiciary, it is not your business why do you think you can pick your nose into it? Bugger off!

e.g. pollutes the Oder, it

First, you try to destroy our forests then you blame us for OPder pollution which is polluted by German firms mostly. Nice going.
Then another German dushbak have an issue with a harbor extension in Szczecin. What else? Should I ask what I'm allowed to have for my dinner?
