Meanwhile, another of the Axis Powers (China) has been ramping up aggression against the Philippines

You care for Philippine people?

See how our brother in Christ, the Pope, globalized you nicely. You care. You know who is axis.

They hate Bong Bong Marcos since he's not theirs. He's got a lot of domestic support though, especially among Ilocans.

WWIII has already started

The South China Sea will be the big flashpoint.

The South China Sea will be the big flashpoint.

Apparently the Chinese position is that since it's called South China Sea the whole thing belongs to China (and other countries don't have territorial waters.... or something).

Third front opening up while some talk about 'negotiations'....

South China Sea

South China Sea

Don`t you see. Vatican losing positions on all meridians. World goes into global different human civilizations and not into global religion. Not Judaism, not Catholicism, not Islamism.

All three global religions are enemies of human prosperity because they rather serve to the few financial circles. A global hoaxes. Guilds.

Exposed.

Finally.

They hate Bong Bong Marcos

What's to hate about Bong Bong?

The fact that his father and mother were galaxy-wide legends of graft?

The fact that they made the Shah of Iran look like a fiscally prudent man?

The fact that his entire political career is predicated on corruption and nepotism, at the expense of the poorest and least educated Filipinos?

jon357

The fact that his father and mother were galaxy-wide legends of graft?

That's most of the world's politicians and in Filipino society, anything else would be simply strange. It's normal in third world countries (as you should know in r*SSia where the dictator has stolen billions and has an solid gold toilet)... And he's a breath of fresh air compared to the murderous Duterte person.

at the expense of the poorest and least educated Filipinos?

Or even the opposite. The (usually very poor) people of Iloco love him, whereas the Quezon bourgeoisie do not. Duterte was the gangsters' favourite and his idea of poverty reduction was to murder the poor and vulnerable by the thousand...

I believe that Trump will be true to his word and stop the war in Ukraine quickly.
He is the ultimate negotiator and deal breaker.
Putin and Zelensky won't like it.
But the USA threat will be overpowering.
Ukraine will have to concede some territory to Russia.
But if Ukraine hold on to a bit of Russian Kursk a more sympathetic deal for Ukraine may be reached.
The war will end.Putin saves some face, as does Zelensky. It is not the victory either side wanted but Ukraine can rebuild and Russia will no longer have to worry about a revolution or of their financial melt down!

Your idea of what history might have been is not supported by official reports of who had control over the nukes in Ukraine.

And now with reports of 100K UKRAINE MADE mortars being pulled from use for not launching, or not working properly it looks as though those Ukraine mortar shell makers may have just been pocketing more US dollars and not putting enough powder in the mortars which made them fail to launch or got them stuck in the firing tube, or had them not reach their intended target. Wait a minute, isnt this exactly what Russia did to its own soldiers at the beginning of the war, and isnt it what got Russian generals fired? Apples didnt fall far from the trees.

not supported by official reports

I wouldn't expect it to be. Why would you believe soviet era institutions or the documents they produced?

And again, that was just part of a _much_ larger disarmament program pushed by Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2, Obama and Biden all of whom took part in making Ukraine defenseless and none of whom were willing to even sell Ukraine weapons. Trump was the one to break that cycle. And he may be been the one to threaten to bomb moscow (probably not then but he said it recently and that's good).

Wait a minute, isnt this exactly what Russia

I don't play "А у вас негров вешают", go play in the sandbox with other pro-russia posters.

Things go wrong and corruption exists everywhere.... let's see how this plays out before flying the white flag.

And a reminder about 'negotiations'....

Is interesting how Russians went from "Ukrainians will be expelled in Kursk in days: to "... in weeks" to "...in months" to "they lost about a third of the territories in Kursk so they are losing.

Yeah well both Poland and Germany are getting very nervous right now with Poland deploying more missiles and Germany In panic, after Putin uses Oreshnik missile, turning Metro Stations into bunkers.

after Putin uses Oreshnik missile, turning Metro Stations into bunkers.

So we're back at the start. Russia should gets its way, because otherwise it threatens to blow up the whole world. Let's imagine for a second that the West will bow down. Next thing we know, every strongman threatens to launch nukes and everybody else should bow down to them or they'll blow up the whole world. Well, I suppose let's blow up the world now than, why wait...

And the problem for Russia is that the west isn't concerned Russia is going to launch missiles at them either,
conventional or nuclear. Nor are they impressed by the fairly conventional and already existing missile technology.

But the normal pro-Russian shills in the west are taking the opportunities for more performative hand-wring about "WW3!! Escalation!!! Nuclear War!!". That is the reason you are seeing the Ruskies in this thread increase their nuke talk right now, as they are amplifying the Russian propaganda they consume.

I know a lot in the finance world see Nabullina as a good North Nigerian they can work with

There is some merit to that argument but she can make her case at The Hague with the rest of them.

Inflation and weak oil prices are killing the ruble. Could easily go to 130, especially as India and China refusing to accept it.

Saudi Arabia could decimate Russia's economy and end the war next week.

Could easily go to 130

Oh nooooo, the Russian currency is about to register a 50% drop versus the pre-war exchange rate!

A Russian collapse is as good as set!

Meanwhile, the Turkish Lira went from 13 all the way to 35 lira per USD in the same exact period. No war, no sanctions - just some Erdoganing.

The Ukrainian Hrivnya went from 25 to 42 per USD.

At the same time - the Armenian Dram went from 550 per $1 in 2022, to just 390 now. This makes it the best performing currency in the world!

Tell me - mega economists - when can we expect Turkey to collapse, and also when can we expect Armenia to become an economic superpower?

Better yet - explain what effect exactly lower currency exchange rates have on weapons and ammunition production? If the ruble hits 200 to the dollar tomorrow, will there be 50% less artillery shells falling on Ukrainian heads?

Very curious.

Memo to idiots:

First, look at the map that shows NATO around Russia.

Then place as many hostile dots around the US.

Getting the point or still too stupid...

Memo to idiot:
Attacking a country that wasn't in NATO and making more of your neighbours to actually join NATO can make sense only in your head.

@mafketis
These facts come from the US military who were involved in the negotiation, and in the following nuclear inspections. As for the deinition of insanity, you are correct, only they never completed negotiations in 2022. They did complete them in the first Minsk accords which Ukraine broke. The definition of stupidity is not taking the 2022 deal that was offered, and killing a few hundred thousand of your countrymen because of it.

Novichok
27 Nov 2024  #951

that wasn't in NATO

Hey, stupid, "NATO" is in the Ukrainian constitution...that's how much U wants to be in NATO.

The US attacked Iraq and told the world that it's OK to attack countries you don't like for whatever reason.

More specifically, the US didn't like Iraqi WMDs and Russia doesn't like Ukrainian "Nazi". Got it?

The definition of stupidity is not taking the 2022 deal that was offered, and killing a few hundred thousand of your countrymen because of it.

In other words:

I don't trust you because you might so I will condemn a million of my men for sure...

That was way beyond stupid. It was criminal.

And I want a pegasus, doesn't mean it will happen. What did happen is that a different neighbour actually joined NATO and not put it in their document in a great wishful thinking display.

Novichok

Russia has a right to say no to U in NATO just as the US had a right to say no to Saddam having nukes.

Russia owes nobody an explanation why it is selective about NATO just as the US is selective in deciding who is allowed to have nukes and who is not.

Pakistan - OK. Iraq - not OK.

Why? For the same reason why dogs lick their balls. Because they can...

Don't like it? Sue 'them.

Since 1990, Russia didn't move West. It was NATO that moved East. Duh!

PolAmKrakow

And now Biden and the infinitely wise democratic white house are telling Z to start drafting men as young as 18. This is how bad the manpower disadvantage is for Ukraine. And all you left wing rocket scientists who support this war will support this taking place? All it would do is essentially eliminate any real future of a Ukraine nation. What would be gained by Biden suggesting this? How much of an admission is this that the war is not going well? I mean since every report shows Russia taking more land on every front every day.

Lenka
27 Nov 2024  #959

If you are tempted to give me a lesson about sovereign and democratic something

I'm trying to give you lesson in logic.
Russia exchanged one country that wasn't joining NATO in foreseable future, and most likely never, for a different neighbour (who was never interested in joining) actually joining NATO.

If that's a good deal according to you then can I please sell you something?

jon357

ruble hits 110 to the dollar (down 400% from its high

Both their inflation and their interest rates are sky high. A sign of how their economy has tanked.

May it worsen as a lesson to them.
