Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 29

Przelotnyptak1

Since when invading independent country for territorial gains is described as moderation? So much tolerance for Rusia's barbaric behavior, especially
compered to your rabit irrational opposition to necessary justifiable action taken by your own country with the aim of preventing Armageddon.
Wake up, the last thing you can wish for is a nuclear Iran with fanatical clerics running the country, at the same time condemning the civilization to fiery and.
Little patriotism, little expression of love for the greatest country, given to mankind by the Creator would be a step in right direction. Your right to
free expression in theory is correct, by on close examination laughable; you have the right to drive a nail through your knee bur you won't do it would you?

the behaviour of Poland in the parts of western Ukraine they colonised

Poland hasn't done anything even remotely comparable to the Volhynia and Eastern Galicia Genocide.

Ukraine is the only country in Europe where Waffen-SS formations and nazi collaborators continue to be publicly commemorated and honoured. Germany confronted and repudiated its Nazi past; Ukraine, by contrast, still celebrates genocide perpetrators as national heroes. There is no escaping that fact.

Ukraine could end this glorification at any time, just as Russia could end this war at any time. Yet neither side appears willing to do so.

So they should just stand back and let Russia bomb the fvck out of Kyiv?

Just love the way you express your opinion, your impeccable perception, I am not forgetting your kind words, and never, wavering sympathy for Poland.

f Poland in the parts of western Ukraine they colonised that led to the rage..

Jon, do you know, that Western Ukraine was populated by Poles escaping virtual slavery (indentured slavery). I am sure you are familia with the meaning of
Dzikie Pola (, unpopulated expenses of land) so Polish virtual slaves find freedom in the area. So, Jon, they were Poles genetically identical to us.
The unfair treatment by Polish aristocracy, changed their attitudes, from Polish friendly to strong anti-Polish. Some here are trying to propagate same
mistakes, that are not serving Polish interests. Let's forget old mistakes, both sides were wrong at some sad moments in history, we can't change the past, let's look for better future.

Let's forget old mistakes

Mistakes? Have you just called the Volhynia and East Galicia Genocide a mistake? 😡

I'm out of this thread for the time being, before I say a couple of words too many...

Poland hasn't done anything even remotely comparable

They didn't need to.

They did very bad things and it escalated. Something that pretty well always happens if you hurt poor people in villages.

Not that Pilsudzki's legions cared. They were too busy taking farms and banning languages.

Waffen-SS formations

If you mean SS Galizien, they were teenagers in homes without electricity, without newspapers and without much contact with the outside world.

They didn't know what nazism was and were put in the army by the occupiers. Fighting the people who had hurt them was the only priority and they deserve to be remembered with respect.

Of course it didn't help that they were forbidden to have post-12 education in their own language by yet another bunch of imperialists who were colonising Galicia.

They did very bad things and it escalated.

Even if every allegation you make about interwar Polish policies were accepted at face value, it would not come remotely close to explaining, let alone justifying, the systematic genocide of over 100,000 of Polish civilians in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia.

"Bad things happened and it escalated" is precisely the kind of "reasoning" that various nazi/genocide justifying scumbags use. It's vomit-inducing. The fact remains that the OUN-UPA deliberately carried out a genocide against the Polish population. No catalogue of alleged Polish wrongs changes that.

homes without electricity (...) post-12 education in their own language

Brilliant. So, apparently, membership in the Waffen-SS ceases to be problematic if your village lacked power lines. That's probably the defence that they would use in court...

"Your honour, my client joined the Waffen-SS, but in his defence the family farm wasn't connected to the grid, so he had no other option but to murder all those Polish, Jewish and Russian civilians."

... kurwa mać... I have no words. This is not even mental retardation, this is something worse... and evil.

Anyways, I have no more time to waste on genocide justifiers. So, fvck you guys and see you tomorrow.

Russia is not "bombing the fvck out of Kyiv," as you poetically put it.

Not for want of trying. The night Russia struck Dormition Cathedral, it launched 70 missiles and 611 drones. Imagine if a lot more had got through defences. And that's just one night's worth.

I don't need to be poetic about it, just getting to the point and telling it how it is.

Soomeboody's goot a crush on AntV.

Torq and Bobko, the other two players in the bromance 😊

You can add lazy to my list of qualities.

That's one way of saying you can't produce any evidence 😂

honouring Waffen-SS units and genocidal banderite

They are literally putting up new statues for Stalin in Moscow. The man who is responsible of millions of Ukrainians while they are comitting new atrocities against them

themoscowtimes.com/2025/05/21/stalin-is-making-a-comeback-in-russia-heres-why-a89155

Yet neither side appears willing to do so.

So... Waging an unprovoked war of agression with at least genocidal undertones should be mentioned in the same breath as viewing Bandera positively?

I mean as bad as Bandera and his followers were, I think we can all agree that Stalin was infinitely worse.

They are literally putting up new statues for Stalin in Moscow.

The Russians are uncivilised animals!

This latest attack on Moscow by The Ukrainians just proves that Russia is fvcked part 194.

Stupid Russians have no chance against clever Ukrainians.
Russia is fvcked part 195.

Mistakes? Have you just called the Volhynia and East Galicia Genocide a mistake?

Just because you call, the unfortunate events of the past genocide do not change the fact that those were grave mistakes or that your description indicates
you care more deeply than I You or I are not able to change the past, but we can accept the facts tragic as they were and not follow the Middle East
as an example, and hold grudges forever, nonreproductive. WE should have honored and respect Zaporozhian Cossacks, famous warriors and horsemen,
some claim that Cossack boys were born on the back of the horses, that if we were nation of statesmen not the nation of narcissist with the false superiority complex, events, including partitions could have been avoided. look how Russian Tsars have skillfully used Cossacks to their advantage.
So Torq, I deeply care about Volhynia may be as deep as you, but I am a realist not blindly impulsive.

Stripping Zelensky of his Polish order is the most idiotic move by a Polish president imaginable. Firstly, for eliminating approximately 1 million potential occupiers of Poland over the course of four years, he deserves not just one, but a ton of orders. Secondly, he will receive this ton of orders from other European and non-European countries, just not from Poland. What a shame... Miałeś chamie złoty róg...jak pisał jeden polski poeta.

Torq
20 Jun 2026  #405

Well done, President Nawrocki! Poland's highest honour has no place on the chest of anyone who excuses, whitewashes, or glorifies genocide perpetrators. The butchers of innocent civilians deserve condemnation, not celebration. Let there be no ambiguity: bestial mass murderers are not heroes, and their admirers deserve neither praise nor prestige. ¡No pasarán!

Well done, President Nawrocki! Poland's highest honour has no place on the chest of anyone..

You write No Pasaran on a website - Ukraine's army have lived it every day for 4 years.

Even if you are morally right in this issue, is it mature politics to do this, now, when Ukraine has high international standing and Zelensky is arguably the most admired politician in the world.

Poland has worked hard to become a major voice in Europe and the natural leader of the region - but this kind of 1930s politics just makes us look weak

Torq
20 Jun 2026  #409

Zelensky is arguably the most admired politician in the world.

This is definitely a highly debatable statement.

He is certainly not the most admired politician in our region - Central Europe, or even wider, Intermarium. Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and Bulgaria have already decided to either stop all military aid or seriously limit financial help for Ukraine. Surely they are not among Zelensky's keen admirers? And two of these countries are Ukraine's neighbours. Interesting, isn't it?

Even if you are morally right in this issue, is it mature politics to do this

Mature politics places truth and morality among its foremost values. Otherwise politics degenerates into mere expediency - is that what you're advocating, Cms?

Torq
20 Jun 2026  #410

viewing Bandera positively

It's much more than that. Bandera is only a small part of a broader problem of raging nationalism, justifying and whitewashing genocide, as well as glorifying Waffen-SS Galzien and other nazi collaborating formations.

What is more important to you ?

Do we measure Poland against Hungary or Bulgaria ? In a way, but really it's time to measure against Germany, France, Italy and the UK.

Correcting a wrong from the most turbulent time in world history 80 years ago, in which every remaining protagonist has already died of old age.

Or

Developing good relations with a new democracy on our border, that will be an excellent economic and security partner for the decades to come, and where Poland is uniquely placed to benefit from its growth?

I am going to go with expediency, because that worked with Germany after 1989, and yes politics is about finding solutions without violence.

Torq

excellent economic and security partner for the decades to come

Ukrainians said that they see themselves as our rivals, after the war ends.

measure against Germany

Yeah, let's talk about Germany - would you be so willing to cooperate with Germany if they still had Adolf Hitler squares, Eichmann streets, monuments of Rudolf Hess and their military units were named after Waffen-SS formations? Sorry, Cms, this sh*t won't fly.

And this has nothing to do with the UPA... Nawrocki sees this as a chance to increase his power base and if that means following a pro-russian line he will

It's not like he has a lot of ethics.

And, triva note, that often gets neglected..... the Kaczyńskis promoted the Żołnierze wyklęci who afte 1945 were allies with..... the UPA.

Does this make Jarek a Banderite?

PiS has really been sabotaging

Not PiS, this is Nawrocki who's pretty clearly wants to emerge as the leader of a nationalist coalition made up of part of PiS, Konfa and the Braun group.

"Nationalist" being a relative term since I don't understand how a Polish nationalist can also pursue pro-russian policies....

jon357

it would not come remotely close to explaining, let alone justifying

It isn't meant to explain or justify.

Evens do not occur spontaneously and there are many reasons that dark chapters in history occur. Poland has its fair share of horrors, Ukraine too.

The Ukrainians from Tsarist times to now have been victims. Victims of several nations, including Poland.

The fact that bad things happened in the past should not prevent good things happening now.

People like some here, with a level of vocal identity grievance surpassing the most woke blue-haired indigenous non-binary in the most radical American university campus, should look to the future.

The past can't be changed, the future can.

Well, actually, I have been thinking about it... Now, you all know I'm always ready to admit error, so perhaps I may have been rather too emotional about the whole rummy business. I am, therefore, willing to give Mr Zelensky and his government the benefit of the doubt once again because such is my angelic nature.

I trust I shall remain reasonable, but I would not care to stake my reputation for composure on Banderism continuing to be celebrated in polite company.
