There's every reason to prevent citizens of the evil empire from using any sort of international services until they lose the war.

Democracy has one fatal flaw, but alas, it is unsolvable: campaign lies. You can promise anything you want, but once the "best" (i.e., the most dishonest) candidate is elected, he is under no obligation to deliver on any of those promises. Nothing! He begins to pursue only his own goals and those of his financial backers (and there's no getting out of this one-the bigwigs with the dirt won't let him). Trump. He promised MAGA. Did he deliver? Next... Zelensky. Promised peace, at any cost. And didn't deliver. So what does the "democracy manual" say? Let's read it. "In the event of failure to fulfill campaign promises, the voter has the right not to vote for that a$$hole in the next election." Is that all? That's all.
But monarchies and autocracies are free of this global flaw. There's no need to lie. And if an honest dialogue with society is established, there's no need to replace one set of democrats with another, who haven't yet been tainted.

This is a brief early history of Russia.Nothing has changed.... it is still a chaotic state where people seem to die mysteriously all the time.....

Say what you want about democracy. But a democratic system at least doesn't allow its' leaders to get away with conducting an incredible costly war with unclear objective.

The US suffered 50k dead in Vietnam and had to withdraw due to domestic pressure.

Putin has thrown away the lifes 500k Russians with no end in sight with nobody in Russia who can stop him.

You do recognize that some of the richest countries in the world are run or used to be run by monarchies and autocracies, right?

Taiwan had been run for more than half a century by the Kuomintang. Same with Japan - where the LDP was essentially a feudal kingdom, with different prominent Japanese families rotating in and out of power.

South Korea was built by dictators, not much kinder than those in the North.

Singapore was led by an autocrat, throughout the entire period where it transformed from a fishing village into a global financial center.

The Emirates are ruled by an absolute monarchy. As are the Qataris, and Saudis, and Kuwaitis, etc.

Morocco is much better managed than many of its neighbors, as is Jordan.

Autocratic Kazakhstan, is much wealthier than democratic Kyrgyzstan. Autocratic Azerbaijan is much wealthier than democratic Armenia or Georgia.

Autocratic Hitler and Mussolini delivered much better economic results than democratic France or Britain.

Maybe compare Poland to its potato head neighbor in Belarus - next door, similar levels of development and GDP in 1989

It's untrue - plenty of other European countries spent the same or more as Poland. France for example spent 46 billion Euro compared to 38 billion for Poland
