For a number of reasons, I could list if you are interested.
Also there is plenty of folks that are as American as American-pie or pasta 'Anna' (wink) are arguing for a 'gun control' or have one or other 'gun grabbing' ideas.

The crux of the matter is that these people be it in USA or outside don't understand even a basic concept of the western civilization, it values that are embodied in the American constitution. Freedom, rights, cintziship, enterprise, individuals responsibility. All that build on the Christian philosophy and realized in America.

It is not natural resources not the land nor the people are responsible for the position of the USA.
There are lands that are more fertile, or that posses more valuable ores, or it riches (with debt those riches are questionable somewhat). Americanos are not some kind of geniuses or exceptional heroes unraveled in the world. Bah often on indivual basis that are disappointing losers unable to give its due to the country that live in. Nor are they able to see where the center of that strength came from..

What gives America an edge, makes it great and successfully? It laws, values and civic spirit that animates enough great or just smart people to make it work. Freedom based on the Christian philosophy and the God's gifts.

The solution to mass shootings is clearly a responsibly armed populace.
According to all the stats on active shooters, defense by citizens is the only factor that seems to make much difference.
But to convince more and more people of this requires a level of conscience and empathy that inspires confidence, and perhaps brotherhood.
When people know that you give a damn and aren't simply pursuing an agenda like the political left does, it is more likely that they will listen to what you have to say.
