corona ill workforce
could be, but it is an artificial illness. There was a virus outbreak in a german meat processing plant in June, 1413 workers tested positive: ga.de/ga-english/news/more-than-1300-coronavirus-cases-in-meat-factory_aid-51778017
of course, they immediately closed everthing down, sent all into quarantine, and everybody was really, really, scared.
2 days ago, German media checked if anybody of those infected back then was still alive. Turns out ... all of them. From the 1413, almost nobody even noticed that they were infected, 41 ended up in the hospital at one point, 2 in the ICU. Meaning that more than 1300 enjoyed a free vacation. Good for them. They were not ill, they just had a positive PCR test. The "illness" was only artificial. deutschlandfunk.de/covid-19-was-aus-den-infizierten-bei-toennies-wurde.676.de.html?dram:article_id=483414 (german)
So yes, what should happen now is what should have happend months ago (and happened already in Sweden, Belarus, Japan, Lombardia (Italy)..), that the virus runs through all children and - to a lesser degree - through their parents and in two months, the epidemic is over. As it was in 100+ epidemics before, after all, every year a minimum of one new virus makes the rounds.
There is the tale that Italy was oh so "hard" hit by this virus, whatever that means. As a result, they closed schools almost everywhere, because, well, I don't know, there must be some reason. In Italy, it turns out that
Children younger than 18 years of age who had Covid-19 composed only 1% of the total number of patients; 11% of these children were hospitalized, and none died. nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2007617 A killer virus, that does not kill, amazing, we should be scared.
The only reasonable voice in the horde of fearmongers came these days from Maria Nawrocka-Rolewska, who said:
koronawirus jest, to oczywiste, ale to nie znaczy, że wszyscy się zarażą i wszyscy przeniosą się na drugą stronę lustra. This virus exist, clear, but that does not mean, that all infect themselves and move to the other side of the mirror (ie. die). Word. Or why should Polish children be weaker than Italianos?
What generally was good to see on TV in the last couple of days is how many children expressed their joy of going back to school. That bodes well for the future of the country. As well a the choice of Szumowski's replacement. The new guy immediately cut quarantine days from 14 to 10 and eliminated the need for one of those useless PCR tests after quarantine, meaning quarantine now expires without the need for another test. I guess the top brass already knows very well the insanity of the whole charade, since it is well known that the PCR test cannot even distinguish between viable and destroyed virus RNA. Szumowski btw. was spotted these days on vacation in Spain. One of those countries you are not allowed to fly to Poland because of this scary virus. But he is probably going by yacht.
