Coming back to it. Did you hear Israel has just announced the second lockdown, for 3 weeks, starting on Friday.

Knowing that Jews and Poles share a lot of similar traits, I wouldn`t be surprised if we do the same here sooner or later.

Maybe if people were told that the N95 masks can be washed in a washing machine, with hot soapy water, and can be re-used safely that people wouldn't wear the same contaminated mask day after day and expect it to be effective from spreading the virus if they had it unknowingly.

The US embassy site says yes,there is 10 day quarantine,but some people say there is none for the flights coming from within the EU.

It's already happening, even before the vaccine is out. Some countries already require you to have an app installed on your phone with tracking active 24/7, once you test negative, and impose heavy fines if you interfere with it.

That this whole thing culminates in an enforced vaccination is worrying. If I had to guess I'd say it would damage fertility or T levels somehow as the UN seems to be waging war on both those things.

I feel sorry for the healthcare workers, teachers, etc. they don't really have a choice on whether they want the vaccine or not. Either they get a rapidly developed, unproven novel RNA type vaccine (as opposed to the traditional vaccines using an inactive virus/virus DNA) and can't sue if they get all messed up or lose their jobs. I know I sure as hell won't be taking an sort of covid vaccine. Fts...

Exactly why there are no more direct flights to Poland from USA. Many Americans in Poland right now. In Opole yesterday and met 4 at dinner. If there are Americans coming to Opole, on holiday according to them, then the border closure is pretty flimsy.

And suddenly the thread is all about America - yet again. To get back to Europe, by 13 October the EU will finalze its new 'traffic light' system which will add some clarity to the foreign travel situation. It looks as if all the EU member states will adopt it.

Under the EU plans, countries or regions with a 14-day cumulative Covid-19 rate under 25 per 100,000, and a positivity rate of less than 3%, will be designated green.

Orange areas will be those with a 14-day rate under 50 per 100,000 and infection rate of over 3%, or where the 14-day rate ranges between 25 and 150 and the positivity rate is under 3%.

Countries and regions with a 14-day incidence rate of 50 or more and positivity rate of 3% or above, or if the 14-day rate is more than 150, will be designated red.

Areas with insufficiently clear data will be classified as grey.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control will publish a map outlining which countries or regions are what colour and it will be updated weekly.

Sounds like a plan to make travel impossible....by making planning all but impossible. If I didn't know better I'd say the EU is trying to operationalize Saint Greta's desire to end affordable air travel for most Europeans... but..... do I know better?

Hospitalizations (running total) + 11 = 2007 (one comment on twitter suggests that all those admitted to hospitals are tested and positive results are entered as covid hospitalizations even if there are no symptoms and they were admitted for something else.... FYI only I have no confirmation).

I'm surprised how full some of the bars/restaurants are here. No masks or distancing, no contact tracing that I've noticed, and no real increase in infections.

I think that Poland is following the Japanese model (whether by design or accident is an open question) of testing as few random people as they can get away with because mostly just brings to light asymptomatic cases and bothers and disturbs everyone.

The priority in Poland is getting back to normal and that is good.

Let's hope it works. So far it seems to have.

Don`t expect those rightards to have any conscious plan. They are like kids lost in the foggy forest.

I guessed about 3 weeks. A week for a few kids to start getting infected, a week for some of the parents to get it and a week for it to really spread.

The important metric is less total number of positive results but hospitalization rates.... the more you test the more cases you find but that doesn't necessarily fill the hospitals.... (fortunately)

There's a video by Journeyman about a nurse who worked in Elmhurst Hospital in NYC during the peak of COVID. Basically everyone they intubated died. One guy lived - a drug addict who awoke as his body already had a huge tolerance to sedative/opiate type drugs and ripped out the vent tube himself. The nurse charges that the hospital and doctors were deliberately intubating and thus killing people on purpose and getting away with it due to an order giving them more protection against malpractice. Strange coincidence that even though hydroxychloroquine (with zinc) was a treatment used all around the world and the USA, yet Cuomo signed an executive order against off-label use.

The new lockdowns in some regions there are going to be hard for people; harder still if the 2 week countrywide lockdown that they're hinting at actually happens. There may well be some nasty surprises here in Poland as the season changes.
