Sweden has had about three times as many fatalities as Poland (with one fourth the population).

On the bright side they've lowered their pension burden a bit by killing so many elderly people in bad health.

Btw. Who will convincingly explain me a phenomenon with 'experts' preaching the "second coming of corona" while at the same time claiming that Chinese flu is not a seasonal infection?

I've said it many times, you can't control the spread of a virus, you can only try to protect the most vulnerable (which Sweden didn't do at all - not that any other country has done a good job either) and let people know how to minimize their personal risk and then let it run its course.

The only way to try to really contain it is to treat human populations the way people deal with contagious illness in animal populations (with firewalls and systematic mass culling). This is, of course, incompatible with basic ideas of individual liberty and/or human rights.

Interesting poll about corona in Europe:
It seems Poles don't want the vaccine. Almost 50% don't seem inclined to get vaccines.
Also over 50% think we will be able to come back to our lives as they were.

Right now coronavirus killed more people, not because of its lethal attributes but simply because those patients who had a really serious illness couldn't get proper treatment on time (the case of early Lombardia paranoia and hospitals stuffed with patients with mild fever) or those who are too scared to seek the treatment and delayed it because of mass media hysteria.

And yes, mistreatment and the abandonment of the elderly people in daycare centers contributed to those statistics as well.

Those who started and orchestrated this mass hysteria have blood on their hands.

Fatalities (daily total) 10, age range 48-94, average age 73

Number of active cases (new metric running total) - 195 = 12,030 (I mis-wrote the number yesterday, it should have been 12,225)

Hospitalizations (running total) + 33 = 1957 (still under 2000....)

Ventilators in use, - 2 = 82

Number tested (daily total) = 18,600

Cured (daily total) 779 which is 131 % the number of discovered cases..

Ratio of cured to fatalities (daily) there were 77 times more cured cases than fatalities.

My new cut-thru-the-hype number is number of active cases (people with actual symptoms and not just a positive test)

So despite the 80,000 or so in quarantine and the hundreds of new cases reported every day, in a country of 38 million people at this moment only a bit over 12,000 are actually sick and less than one sixth of that are hospitalized.... I don't think that this has ever qualified as a real epidemic in Poland.

That's right, on average more people commit suicide per day in Poland than have died from covid....

Johnny Reb posted four days ago the same thing so why is it a shock ?


The percentage of people in Poland that will refuse the vaccine is about the same as it is in the U.S. with 50% of the people saying they have no interest in getting poked to have god knows what injected into their bodies to do who knows what to it.

I want to know just how effective it will be, the side effects and how many boosters shots of it I will need.
So far they are saying we will need to get re vaccinated 30 days after the first vaccination.
That's a lot of ? to be injecting into ones body.

America is prepping for round two and we are not even over round one yet.

If the government makes it mandatory they will put a micro chip in the vaccination so they can scan you to see if you have been booted up with it.

It started as a regular infection but the media have blown it out of proportions. Out of nothing, the virus became a major social issue.

And then obviously politicians and ngo's took over because it was too good to no use it for 'disciplining' the society and shaping it in a new form. A famous "new normality", a term which is being repeated by various media since at least late March/April

The problem is that (at least in English speaking countries) the demand is coming from citizens themselves, probably an unforeseen consequence of the cult of neoliberalsim (like a lot of other not great things going on now). An ideology that puts consumer wishes as the highest value is going to mutate into extremely weird stuff...

They took the opportunity and started shaping it in a desired direction. It didn't start as a plan but it became one once 'pandemia' took over the news and when society has bought it.

I think so too (depending on who you mean by 'they'....)

But all the changes they're trying to shove people into are things that lots of political analysts have noted as probably trends for a long time... the idea of... de-institutionalising life (doing away with most physical offices and schools, the disappearance of most small stores etc) has been supported for years by lots of people (who had no idea of the real consequences unfortunately).
