Coronavirus in Poland

Yeah the whole dual citizenship thing is kind of weird in Poland... from my understanding if you fly in on a US passport as a dual citizen that's fine but you can't stay for more than 90 days, if you fly in for more than 90 days you either need to get a visa if on US or another passport or use your Polish one. Of course I'm sure covid has impacted those rules. It says that Polish citizens, family members, etc. can fly in direct but only from Illinois and New York airports, but it looks like quarantine period is 10 days... Idk if my family in UK will even be able to come, at least not on a direct flight, since it states Poland isn't letting any aircraft from UK come in.

The Polish consulate hasn't been any help. They don't even answer the phone. Totally useless... I expected that though from past experiences with them.

Or you can do visa runs by crossing the border to Ukraine,its also mentioned on Polish Embassy website,but you cant go to any other country except Polandas Polish govt has some treaty with US govt.

For UK residents Polish govt has exemption for emergency so may be they can qualify without quarentine.All main airports in Germany have free rapid testings(1/2 hr results) courtsey Lufthansa what I am flying.But dont fly direct change somewhere in the EU,this time I think I am changing in Berlin.

I am very sorry to hear about your grandpa.....it is difficult at the present time to attend funerals or indeed hospital beds to see loved ones who have Covid...but it would seem that the logic to restrict contact is to prevent the spread of Covid as difficult as it may seem.... extraordinary circumstances call for extraordinary action and for many it has prevented them from attending funerals and mixing with others....

'Long Covid' is a real medical problem for people who caught the virus, and can lead to breathlessness, lack of energy restricting walking etc, and general problems with health. Hope you get better soon. This serves as a warning for people to take action to avoid catching this virus, wearing masks, distancing yourself from others, washing hands are of course the best methods.... some people may believe they will never catch it or that because they are young the effects won't be as bad and will soon recover, but although they may not die they could end up with 'long Covid'.

What is a warning to me is lack of access to doctors for non covid patients, students falling behind because they can't cope with remote learning, disabled people that lost access to rehab, abused kids that noone helps

I agree with both Lenka and PolAmKrakow.....there are many other related problems which need to be dealt with in tandem with Covid....but must say that the virus is the root of the problem.....if Covid is contained and then related problems will improve, but will need some considerable time to be resolved. Again the health service is the key to all of this...sadly very little has been done to provide meaningful funding and support for the health service in recent years due to the government doing things on the cheap....they need to see the bigger picture....

Looking at the bigger picture makes me think the cure is worse than the disease

The majority of people attending mass are not doing so to maintain or keep a grip on mental health. The vast majority are simply very hard core believers. Nothing wrong with going to mass, believing or not believing. But to my knowledge there is no limit on people attending in this round of lockdown. If a restaurant cant be open and serve socially distanced people outdoors, how is it even remotely sensical to allow even socially distanced people to be indoors together for an hour?

I caught my virus back in March of this year BEFORE the warnings came out.
At that time Trump was saying it was no worse than the flu.
I went to a large sporting even where there was a guy coughing very loud and hard.
I immediately got up and moved after exchanging some words about telling him to go home that he was sick.
Exactly three days later, I started coughing followed by a headache from hell.
I knew I had it and called the local hospital and told them I suspected it and was coming in.
I was told, "DO NOT COME HERE WITH IT ! wait a couple of days and come in to be tested".
I told them that I was very sick with flu like symptoms and needed help as I was very sick.
Two weeks later they called me and ask how I was doing.
I said, "oh, johnny died" and I hung up.
That was nine months ago and I still have a dry cough and a few other symptoms that have been mentioned.
The x-rays of my lungs look like I have long slivers of glass in them from so much scar tissue.
This sht isn't funny folks so take it serious as it effects everyone different.
Unfortunately I may be dealing with "Long Haulers" for the rest of my life.
Why isn't Trump suing China for reparation for ruining my life ?
I should be awarded at least 5 million in cash.

If I have to take a vaccine, I'm take the Russian one. Unlike the Pfizer and Moderna ones it's not an RNA vaccine and is the same kind of "dead vector" type that you get as a kid.

Dirk, I have been to five different doctors now and they have all told me the same pat answer when I throw questions at them about that.
