Coronavirus in Poland

Getting back on topic here............
I read an article this morning that drinking alcohol before or after getting the vaccine has been linked to allergic re-actions.
They suggested pumping up your immune system with vitamin K-2, D3,C, Zinc and Omega - 3 before and after being poked.
I have an alcoholic friend that just spent five days in the hospital from adverse re-actions to the Pfizer vaccine.
No idea if his was alcohol related yet.

That's only about avoiding quarantine. Travellers from outside Schengen also need a negative pre-flight test but have to do the quarantine.

Sorry I meant to avoid quarantine, which is why many people are prepared to pay for a test in the first place before flying. So I guess if you haven't got a negative pre-flight test you get a huge fine? Would have to be much more than the test cost of course.

You need one to check in. No test certificate, no flight.

you get a huge fine

If you arrive at the U.K. without one (perhaps on some crap airline from a less developed country) or the test is an inadequate one you can get a big fine, though it's at the discretion of the border force and there are exemptions for travellers from countries where they genuinely can't get one. In that case you have to have a test on arrival.

Development in case with free vaccines in Serbia. Covid-19 pandemic changes political reality in countries of former Yugoslavia.

> youtube.com/watch?v=-PFAfxEoCtQ

Despite fact that one smaller quantity of vaccines arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina, citizens (Muslims, Catholics and Orthodox) of that country an masse continuing to travel to Serbia for free vaccines. Its not just about receiving vaccines but total confidence in Serbia`s medical system and great disappointment of Bosnian citizens in domestic medical system in Bosnia, as well as great disappointment in Bosnian state institutions. So, movement for vaccination in Serbia is in Bosnia also seen as kind of plebiscite for reunion with Serbia. Furthermore, Bosnian citizens are disappointing with EU and consider EU to be incompetent, while praise Serbia as point of salvation.

Guess that part at least makes more sense. I see the antigen tests at least are more reasonably priced. Wouldn't be surprised if the few flights running get cancelled, especially considering that foreign travel is heavily restricted from the UK anyway.

200zl at Warsaw Airport, cheaper in town. It takes 20 minutes to get the result. There are still quite a few flights into and out of Poland. Fewer in and out of Britain, and the one I was on was pretty well full.

Meanwhile, the far-right in Poland want to prosecute the Prime Minister for imposing the lockdown, while at the same time, Poland is criticised for handling it badly...

"In a newly updated version of the "Covid Resilience Ranking" published by Bloomberg, which assesses how the world's 53 largest economies have handled the pandemic, Poland has fallen to 50th place."

...but promises to withdraw the lawsuit as soon as the Prime Minister and everybody under his command return the money they earned during lockdowns.

95zl at the big testing centre of Warynskiego (Multimed), and there are probably places that do it even cheaper.

Just tested in Krakow. 500 pln for the PCR test required for international flights. Results in 24 hours. Uncomfortable test to be sure.

PCR test required for international flights.

Worth mentioning that only some countries require that. The UK accepts the antigen test.

Lockdowns just draw out the agony and give the virus lots of changes to do as much damage as possible (and to create the mutations that those profiting from the 'pandemic' clearly crave).

Lockdowns just draw out the agony

...in violation of the rule that if you (editorial) want to inflict pain, do it quickly.
I guess, not as much profit for the big donors.

With restrictions now in place from last weekend, which require most shops/businesses to close down I don't know why churches are apparently remaining open....just hope that church goers socially distance and wear masks correctly otherwise it may take some time for the infection rate to subside. Any chance of church services being screened via internet like what is currently done with funerals.

I was vaxed with Astra one a few weeks ago. I had a hard night with fever and incredible chills, but everything died down the next morning. The next shot - in May. But I have just read that all those vaccinations will have become useless within a few months when the present virus mutates into an even more aggressive variant.

Some people get that reaction, but it is rare.
My family had no reactions at all.

Germany stops Astra vaccine for under 60s as 31 cases of rare blood clots with nine people dead.

....I'm waiting abit longer with my vaccination....just to be sure.

I read that in a year or so we all will need new vaccinations anyhow because of the mutations....(maybe I will wait till then)

amiga500
30 Mar 2021  #5749

The Novavax one will have multiple variant in one shot, I'll wait for that one as it is a 2nd Gen Vaccine but an evolution of older technology. It a subunit protein vaccine that contains just inert nanoparticles containing spike proteins , as opposed to the mrna vaccine which program your cells to produce spike proteins and the astra/sputnik V which is an altered adenovirus that infects your cells and then causes them to produce the spike protein.

@jon357
Look for that to change. A friend who works for Virgin air, said they have been told PCR testing will be required starting in May. Proof of vaccination will be required everywhere before the end of summer.

While I am also in the camp of not thinking this is the global killer some think, getting a jab now to reduce restrictions is just smart for everyone. Choice of jab of course.

I had a hard night with fever and incredible chills,

I had the vaccine last week and felt the same.......but for 2 days. I know a few people who've felt like that and others with no side effects at all.

Stop scaremongering.....

He's not that far wide of the mark. This is why the government is desperate to stop the spread of new variants into the UK. The Oxford vaccine, for example, is not that effective against the South African variant.

Are you saying that the "experts" and talking heads on TV didn't convince you yet? :-)

I read that in a year or so we all will need new vaccinations anyhow because of the mutations

That was quite obvious from the beginning. Initially, dust-maskers dismissed it as a "conspiracy theory" until it became evident.

Well, most of the reports I'm aware of suggest that most vaccines work against the various variants so far to a greater or lesser extent. Of course, a vaccine avoiding strain can't be completely ruled out but I'm not aware that there are any strains that the vaccine is useless against as things stand.

I just read the same thing. Reports on real life people not in control groups or in controlled environments, that most can not get another infection or first infection. Also reading that "long haulers" are having diminished or eliminated symptoms within days of vaccination.

Also reading that "long haulers" are having diminished or eliminated symptoms within days of vaccination.

'Some' and 'seem' are the key words.
Covid-19 long hauler Judy Dodd and Dr. William Li talk with CNN's Chris Cuomo about how upon receiving the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine, some long hauler patients seem to have a reduction in symptoms.

Also reading that if you have had Covid and it is in your hemoglobin you don't need the second poke.
Also reading that the second poke is causing a lot of serious adverse re actions.
Also reading get ready for another booster vaccine come this fall (that they will tell you covers the mutations of Covid) along with your flu vaccine.

Not heading to USA, positive for COVID on PCR test. Zero symptoms. People that went with me for testing, three of them, all tested negative. Not completely sold on the results. 10 day quarantine and now I have plenty of time to write here lol
