It's actually less if you adjust for from vs with.
The problem is that no one knows how to do that.... to ramp up early numbers in some places any death within X number of days after a positive test became a covid statistic and so there were people who died of completely unrelated things like traffic accidents or gunshot wounds listed as covid deaths.
On the other hand, past a certain age pretty much everyone has comorbidities (esp since those tend to be undefined and can be anything from 20 lbs overweight to stage 4 lung cancer)...
There are also cases of people with comorbidities that they were handling fine until getting covid (like a former coworker over 70, a bit overweight, known to enjoy tobacco and alcohol but not seemingly healthy enough) Got the vaccine (not sure which one and if one or two shots) came down with it and .... that was all she wrote.
I don't know where to draw the line between from and with and neither does anyone else.
On the other hand, it's pretty obvious the public has been (and is being) lied to which makes most people more suspicious and finally cynical. Cynicism is a healthy response to repeated institutional disrespect - but endemic cynicism does not make a society better to live in....
