I'm in favor of anyone who wants the vaccination to get it. Those who are high risk (elderly and those with certain conditions) should be encouraged. I'm 100% against vaccine mandates and passports.

You are a very trusting soul. If the last couple of years have taught us anything.... it's that those in charge are largely incompetent and alienated from the public they are supposed to be serving and do not think of possibilities that are blindingly obvious to informed bystanders.

The technical term is "elite failure" where the governing class is simply not up to the job and instead concentrates on its own security and the acquisition of assets.

one tenth of one percent is not something to panic over. Tragic yes, but the lives saved are more important in the end.

But you are not "safer" if you refuse the vaccine... hundreds die each day needlessly because of this.


Perhaps some are, but it seems that quite a lot of Ossis are suffering from some sort of PSTD after living under a dictatorship for so many decades. Those have not yet full internalized that they now live in a democracy and under the rule of law. In some way it is tragic, but it is also making our life together in a democracy more difficult.. if you start seeing a democrqtic government you disagree with politically as illegitime, and perceive every argument in support of them as lies and propaganda, you are on a path to ruin... your own or that of your country. Even if the government were to lie to us, we still habe independent institutions like the STIKO who make their recommendations and have proven themselves to be sometimes more careful than the government would like. And don't give me any "Those experts are bought or can be forced to agree with the government... Those guys have tenure and secure pensions as long as they do not do what some people accuse them off (being bought by pharmacy). Maybe one or two could risk it, but hardly the majority.

Speaking of vaccines and democracy, being a mature citizen requires one to make informed decisions which includes knowing what information can be relied upon and where our own short-comings are. Most of us have little to no idea how vaccines work in detail, let alone having conducted our own research. In that case, like in any others that are beyond our expertise, we have to trust what recognized experts say... and I would argue that being a mature citizen should make it possible for one to say that maybe, the dentist ranting in youtube videos is not equally reliable as e.g. the head of the Robert-Koch-Institute and his peers.

....especially those who think they are really safe now, for them this pandemia is over after their two shots + booster and have fun indoors without masks!

I read your nickless quote and started looking who you quoted but after a few posts I gave up not only looking for that poster but also reading your post coz it is senseless when certain links are missing. I suppose some other readers might act similarly. Think about it that you might lose forum readership practically for nothing or for some fancy.

Those are tragic, but significantly less numerous than those who die unvaccinated despite belonging to a much larger group. Again, simple math. Not to mention that the number would be even smaller if everyone was vaccinated and thus less contagious themselves.


It is hardly cautious to decide to take a much, much bigger risk. For that equation to work you would have to get through the pandemic without getting sick or without any serious symptoms and the vaccines would have to cause tens of thousands of deaths and hundreds of thousands of lasting side-effects that are still unknown down the line in Germamy alone... something that is completely unprecedented in modern vaccination medicine.

You stated 3100 injury claims. I did not state deaths, but lives saved. If there are only 3100 injury claims it is just over one tenth of one percent. While tragic the vaccine has saved millions of lives.
