They're always under strain because successive Polish governments have totally neglected healthcare for different reasons. It's a miracle things work as well as they do given how openly hostile Polish governments (across the ruling spectrum) have been to it.

Yes. That's the model for modern medical systems, you run with the bare minimum you can get by with. So they are always on the verge of being overrun. Exception to this is small local hospitals in very small towns, where they hardly see much traffic but the certain baseline of service needed to be running a hospital is in excess of what they typically deal with. In any larger city, they run at capacity. The idea that they only became overrun because of covid is an outright lie. They've been overrun for years.

People seem to be taking it seriously here. Significant though that the number of fatalities correlates regionally with areas with lower vaccine take-up.

One of my gloomier predictions is that what we have in front of us could be more like to the American prohibition or Polish communism. That means there could be a decade of lockdowns and bans by politicians who talk nonsense, but eventually the majority of people will have learned to circumvent, cheat and ignore them.

The following things are absolutely certain:

a) more people will die from Corona
b) the world will move on
c) a decade of paranoia and lies will be much worse than Covid

Subtract those over 80, fat pigs with the underlying, government lies, and all you have is barely a blip.

Of about 98.000 death in connection with Corona only 141 people had been younger than 30 and nearly 64.000 80 years and older!!!

Seriously? Wouldn't had most of these VERY OLD people not also died without the virus? Because of senility? Or even only because of a little cold?

In that statistic that virus doesn't even look that dangerous to the NOT very old and of course high risk groups....wouldn't it be totally enough to concentrate the vaccinations for these groups only and leave the rest alone...no lock downs for a whole people...no vaccine-terror against the cautious? Huh?

I wonder why this fact isn't more mentioned in the german media...instead panic mongering and incitement of hatred against dissidents everywhere...

Which is why we look at other statistics as well, like the ICU capacity. The virus itself may not be so deadly to the individual, but it is infectious enough to put enough people on the ICU that it can collaps and cause enough deads. But hey, we just heard that Saxony might be forced to introduce Triage next week, nothing to worry about.... .


You are aware that old people can still live several years and have a fullfilling lifes? This might shock you, but even if the virus were only affecting them - which is not true, and the article I linked a few pages ago shows that the average age of unvaccinated people on ICU is below 60 - we would not just watch them die and shrug our shoulders.

Yes.also make vaccinations mandatory,my wife is not vaccinated and had mild case of covid,I was out of the country but imagine the inconvenience these people cause to others and now she wont get vaccinated cuz she has antibodies:(

So, the booster is being made de facto compulsory, for all adults, in order to travel in the EU - and with a 5 month gap between doses, despite this advice being only a few days old. France is first out the blocks but a unified EU system is forcing this in the other 300m citizens.

I don't think a single European citizen has voted yes or no for this measure. Don't expect the little people to be asked any time soon either.

YES,true that even as a citizen this time they asked me to show the proof for vaccination...that flimsy card and a negative test taken not more then 72 hrs before the flight .Finally the state of NJ has an app called"Docket" that gives digital proof for your vaccination.

Former brother in law, anti vax, COVID disbeliever, now in hospital with COVID, and gave it to his 6 year old daughter. He is only 55 with no underlying conditions. Refused to get vax, and refused to let wife get it, now she is in quarantine with a 6 year old who has it while he is in a hospital bed. But nothing to see here.

Just like I said before... short of showing up with the goon squad and having 5 dudes hold you down while they give you a shot they can't do anything. there's going to be a shift between the vaxxed large urban communities and the smaller cities and suburban/rural areas who are against all these mandates (including vaxxed people) that aren't going to wear masks, are going to carry on life as usual, etc. because they're sick of this mickey mouse b.s.

I was at my usual cafe and I'll either read if it's empty but when it's full I like to listen in on conversations and observe people. Some old jew was talking about how he and wife are "tricking" their 5 year old daughter tomorrow to get her first shot. I couldn't believe my ears. Not the worst thing I've heard though. A few weeks ago some girl called presumably her bf talking about how "her rash went away." People are so stupid especially in America. I personally blame media and social media.
