Belgian Health Minister confirms one case of new Covid strain. Person traveled to Belgium from abroad, was unvaccinated and hadn't previously had Covid. Tested positive on Nov. 22nd.

And how many are dying? The majority about 90% are unvaccinated, and 80% in hospital are unvaccinated. So now the infected numbers really mean nothing. Its hospitalization and dead that matter. So, again, vaccination keeping people from hospital and dying as promised. Looks like its working pretty well if you know how to add, subtract, and multiply while using reading comprehension.

For the last week 19-26, 29,69 % of deaths were of fully vaccinated people. This could be (probably is) due to the fact that the oldest segment of the population (the most vulnerable) is the most heavily vaccinated too and the deaths might be more related to other factors, but.... who knows?

I don't know about figures of hospitalized vaccinated (though I personally know of a couple of cases).

That's a very very cynical view, and a link to a questionable source.

Governments would do anything rather than stifle economies, and the only change the Nu variant has brought so far is a flight ban from RSA and surrounding states. Any further restrictions are expected to be science-based and reluctantly imposed.

Omicron? I wonder why they skipped Nu. I read that they've classified it as a variant of concern rather than a variant of interest. This isn't good, and the effect on the stock exchange and on oil prices suggest that it's being taken seriously.
