Coronavirus in Poland

Dirk diggler

Not difficult if it's an EU-wide vaccine mandate.

Polish law trump EU law - Constitutional Tribunal court decision October 2021.

Not if you break the law here it isn't.

No one's going to get locked up over not taking a vaccine in Poland let alone forced into one. Even in few countries that made them mandatory people who don't want it have changed their lives. According to the documents leaked in Austria, which a third still isn't vaxxed despite the mandate with the plan is to first fine and summons them, if they don't show up to court increase the fine, and jail afterwards but COMPULSORY vaccination is still totally off the table. The worst they can do is issue fines, lock you up short term, and try to put liens on assets. Big deal.

And if need be, I'll live on an isolated hideout in the Karpa, join the Jehova's Witnesses or I'll brush up on my Russian. Hopefully Putin is still alive if that happens. Either way, plenty of options. Besides, if the situation ever gets too sticky one call to the US embassy, a wire transfer, and I'm out.

Polish law

Only if the government here decide to reject any new joint proposal; and there's no indication whatsoever that they would in this case.

he worst they can do is issue fines, lock you up short term, and try to put liens on assets. Big deal.

Being locked up again is in fact a very big deal, as you know already...

And if need be, I'll live.on.an.isolated.hideout in the Karpa, join the Jehova's Witnesses or I'll brush up on my Russian....one call to the US embass

The words of a fantasist...

Meanwhile, in the real world, covid restrictions, vaccine passes, masks and legislation are the new normal here in Europe. Get used to it...

So you're a cheerleader for the bio-security austerity state?

jon357

cheerleader

More a realist who dislikes it.

However all indications point in a particular direction, and that direction is not towards the freedoms we once knew.

a realist who dislikes it.

then why facilitate it?

all indications point in a particular direction

it's almost as if some people are trying to engineer some kind of new system... sort of like.... re-setting things on a grand, nay, a _great_ scale....

If you keep the sheep busy with their basic needs, they will forget about the freedoms they lost.

I've just read right now over hundred vaccines against that chinese virus are in development....

Sometime, sooner or later, they will find the stuff what stops the transfers, and maybe the new infections....if they will give us back our freedoms then is the real important question...till then I'm resigned to a ****** time!

That was funny, BB! "Give back our freedoms," you say...hahahahahaha...Now, tell me why would they do it and have less power over you?

3 Dec 2021  #9100

Well....the GDR too had all the powers....the rulers wanted to keep their power too....it didn't help them in the end...it's all gone now....that experience shaped me alot!

Made me maybe less of a cynic?

PS: And compared to the Stasi and Snitcher Land GDR this Germany is an absolutely dysfunctional failed state...just unable of that kind of oppressing and controlling!

The state will force you. And smile while they're doing it.

Showing your true colours, aren't you. You commie fascist.
If it ever it comes down to it, I am going into the woods. ZostanÄ™ partyzantem.

They can not force you to take it, until they can make you believe they can

If the EU wants to be responsible for health then that is fine - I have a bunch of foot and knee complaints that they can deal with.

But as it stands health is not an EU competence

Novichok - (jon357 - Get used to it,......) The last time I heard this bs line was in Auschwitz.

Yes you really do need to get used to it, be it vaccinations....wearing masks whatever...Covid has been with us for 2 years now and its not about to disappear any time soon...very odd analogy with Auschwitz....

[quote]Korvinus - (jon357 - the state will force you. And smile while doing it ) Showing your true colours, aren't you. You commie fascist.

What an odd statement to make....'commie fascist...? what on earth would your family think if they could hear you say these things... in reality the state will find ways to make sure people are vaccinated be it fines, increased medical insurance, restrictions in accessing hospitality eg. restaurants, bars etc....

Not sure what some of you think about restrictions etc but at the end of the day you will have to tow the line and adapt to changes in your lifestyle.....this is how serious things have turned out....no good pretending you can go and live in the woods or some other place....maybe you are survivalists or preppers and if so good luck to you.....

You have to get used to me not wearing a mask unless I feel like it

Mind you today when I went to collect my son at school I was one of only two parents with a mask. Maybe 15 didn't bother

jon357
3 Dec 2021  #9105

then why facilitate it?

Facilitate it how, by getting vaccinated as you have?

If it is required to defend myself from the death jab, so be it

The ones most likely to say stuff like that, Korvinus and Dirk the fantasist are paradoxically the least likely to do it and most likely to do what they're told.

Nobody likes a pandemic. This one isn't the first and won't be the last. And yes there are restrictions that nobody likes. Just as there were wartime restrictions that nobody liked, imposed for the good of society as a whole. Those who trumpeted loudly about how they'd break them and thought only about themselves (thank God there was no internet back then) either were the most conformist if all it just got fined/locked up/shot.

Facilitate it how, by getting vaccinated as you have?

For all the good it did me, since I ended up catching it (lasted about 10 days and never worse than cold with some mild flu-like symptoms, now over a week with no symptoms) and now have certyfikat ozdrowienia. Interestingly a friend (also vaxxed) also caught it and ended up in the hospital for a few days (had some risk factors and was being very cautious) and ended up sharing a room with someone else who'd been vaxxed.... (AZ in all cases).

As I said, no place has and no place will get out of this through vaccination. The vaccines are just too leaky (which means they end up promoting mutations). If they help people have milder cases then great! But their obvious imperfections can't be used to prolong idiotic travel and business restrictions (unless the goal really is to reset the economy).

I'm pretty much done with the whole thing and intend to cooperate with restrictions as little as possible. The US CDC has no cases of a recovered person infecting someone else (and almost no records of second infections that are worse than the first).

jon357

never worse than cold with some mild flu-like symptoms,

Perhaps that's because of the vaccine.

unless the goal really is to reset the economy

I really don't think it is.

I'm pretty much done with the whole thing and intend to cooperate with restrictions as little as possible

I'm the same; and that's easy because the restrictions (at the moment anyway) are far from onerous. The minimum is all that has ever been asked of us.

Why the comparison with the war ? It was 80 years ago. We have no idea what it was like.

In Poland I understand - it was an ethnic battle against extermination

In Britain and America it was to preserve everyday freedoms that have just been given away in a few PowerPoint presentations by clueless professional politicians - freedom of movement, freedom of assembly, freedom to protest etc

jon357
3 Dec 2021  #9109

Why the comparison with the war

An introduction of temporary restrictions (blackout, rationing, fuel use etc) that curtailed the freedom that people were used to. And those restrictions were enforced for the good of society, as the current rules about masks, vaccines etc are.

freedoms that have just been given away... freedom of movement, freedom of assembly, freedom to protest

We still have all of the three things you mentioned.

Krakow Christmas market in full swing. Maybe 1 in 100 people wearing masks. Police doing nothing. Rynek looks beautiful and this is probably the most "normal" people have felt in the last 20 months. That is the COVID update on the ground. Giving zero F's about the pandemic at this point.

Of course we lost those freedoms during lockdown and even now entrance numbers and restrictions apply to lots of settings including travel, enjoying yourself and shopping and taking exercise

But it's outdoors isn't it? We don't have to wear masks outdoors.

PolAmKrakow

@Atch
Supposed to wear masks when in crowds according to the "rules". Just walked through again and while crowds are smaller than in previous years it is definitely a more normal feeling.

freedoms during lockdown

Fortunately temporary.

and even now entrance numbers and restrictions apply

Of course; there's a pandemic. It will last a while but won't be forever.

enjoying yourself a

Plenty of people still do that. Enjoyment in life is more than just shopping malls.

Fortunately temporary.

Is that your opinion ?

Of course; there's a pandemic.

A stable number of infected individuals is not a pandemic.

Plenty of people still do that.

Not the way they want to though as they are limited with restrictions.

jon357

Really? There are hardly any restrictions here at all.

Really Jim? I don't see any restrictions on my life right now. Wearing a mask on the metro or in the supermarket is a trivial thing.

The Public health authorities you said.
