I was holding out hope because I have a business meeting, but I cancelled it. Now I am thinking July looks best. Give everyone time to calm down. Good luck on rent if they extend quarantine. Come May, there will be a whole lot of companies that cant make it back. This ZUS non payment plan for 90 days for business owners requires the payments be made up later, so its not really a savings, just a delayed payment.

Wuhan was opened after 76 days of lock down,I wonder how long will it be here.I also cancelled a closing there and will not for another year or so.I guess the guys into stocks will make money.

They should use teachers to help the medical staff,in case of shortage of workers.

Teachers who are not engaged in any structured online teaching with their pupils, or any other public servants who are without something useful to do, could perhaps be redeployed in some way, but not helping medical staff as they have no appropriate training and would be not only a hindrance but an actual danger.

Even some of the actual medical staff are not adequately trained, for example in the use of PPE. One doctor commented that gowns had become contaminated because doctors had not been trained in how to remove them correctly. Adding thousands of untrained people into the mix is a recipe for mayhem and disaster.

Well,they can by cleaning,moping,cooking,getting the medical staff laundry done.There are plenty of ways they can be useful in this crazy time,rather sitting on there computers.

Is there a shortage of cleaners and cooks in hospitals at the moment?? Anyway, again, not trained for the job. Hospital cleaning during an epidemic is best left to people who know what they're doing, and commercial catering is not the same as domestic cooking.

Incidentally, what are you doing yourself to help out during this crisis? Lots of volunteering going on in Ireland - what about Poland?

I am sending out emails and texts to everyone I know to boost there morale.Yesterday donated 50 pln to a guy on Marzalkowska beating sticks on a crate(Busking),but he was not a English teacher.

Honestly I would do something if they ever needed me,in a hospital or a morgue.

Did you people note how world and Europe responded on Corona virus? It responded with hijab. I mean, what is served to us are half-masks that cover half of the face. In the middle age during epidemic plagues or something, people used to use masks that covered entire face. Its in European tradition. But respond on Corona of our time is hijab.

Ridiculous. We Serbs are open for cooperation with partners from all meridians but we maintain our way of life. Why would we refuse Chines help when even USA accepts. When China was in need we sent help to them. We sending help to all countries in the region. We helping to African countries. We help to all who are in need and when we are in situation to help.

Face masks to be required in public. BUT NOT UNTIL NEXT THURSDAY!!! Who is making these decisions? It is too hard to say they are required tomorrow or we haven't had enough Poles die yet to meet out goals? WOW

The shops will be shut for 3 days. Where are people going to get their masks ? Even the ones that are open have long queues outside them.

If everyone had a mask then you could start tomorrow. But they don't

Not to difficult to make one. Instructions on the internet everywhere. They are not requiring surgical masks, just coverings.

Is there any standard for these things or is any cloth-like thing over the nose and mouth enough?

Czech did something similar early on and it worked pretty well... prominent idiots early on telling everybody that there was no point to wearing masks have outed themselves as idiots who no one should listen to...

You can make them easily enough but you need a sewing machine and some elastic.

You can buy dust scarves or snoods in cycling shops and they work well (that's what I use). But the cycling and clothes shops are all shut.

A needle, thread, some cloth and a waistband from some shorts or underwear. Pretty easy fix.

The dots and numbers still aren't connecting with this virus.

I have been thinking and reading, what a perfect cover for a mandatory biometric ID.

Pretty easy fix if you are on your own. A lot of work if you are doing it for a five or six person family while trying to educate them and cook Easter food and stand in line. 10 masks is 10 bits of old underwear. Needle and thread - really you tried to do that ?

Czech Republic 5,467 known cases out of a population of 10.5 million
Poland 5,575 known cases, population 38 million.

The actual number of cases in both countries of course would be much higher than the known cases but even so, comparing like with like, wearing masks appears to have made little difference and they have a higher rate of infection than Poland.

I can see the point of masks in enclosed spaces and crowded settings but wearing a home-made, ill-fitting or improvised mask when going for a walk seems utterly pointless and downright unhealthy. It's far healthier to get a good blast of fresh spring air in your lungs. With the reduced volume of traffic and boilers switched off, the air quality is pretty good at the moment. In most cases, you can avoid walking near other people as you can see them coming and give them a wide berth.

Maybe some of these idea's will help you constructing masks.

Well said. Masks in a week wont do anything. They could have easily done this on Monday effective Friday or something. This is like throwing a snowball at a freight train that has already passed.

If it was so simple then why is every hospital on earth short of masks ?

Are there enough shoelaces in the world to make all the masks needed ?

It depends what the fine is - if it is 50 zloty people won't bother. If it is 500, a weeks wages for a Pole, then you have to give people time to get sorted. It does not become law when some dude stands up and says it.

We made our own but you know what ? We went to a relatives house to borrow their sewing machine, which is also forbidden.

I'm not sure about that. They may not be allowed into the shops without a mask. They'll probably just wear a scarf and pull it up around their face.

A scarf over your nose, mouth and under your chin tight with no gaps on the sides is just as effective.


Keeps people busy and gives them something to b!tch about to take their minds off the news.
