Yet anyone with a dog can walk as long as they want. This isnt going to hold up much longer. Just walked Rynek, and there were at least two dozen people out walking. Police everywhere saying and doing nothing. They know people are only going to take so much of this. Luck a few days of cold weather coming or they would have their hands full.

Same here in Warsaw,yesterday I saw couple of guys on bikes in a park and the cops didnt say nothing.

And because of such an idiots there are still new cases. They should take a page from the Chinks and put an army on the streets, or it will last for months.

ITs going to last for months and possibly years. They arent talking about curing people of this they are trying to "slow infection rates" to manageable numbers. Everyone will get it until there is a vaccine. Army in the streets will stir political unrest. Its the last thing PiS could get away with.

You are allowed to walk on the rynek - doesn't make you an idiot and stopping it won't save any lives. Certainly not a reason for the army to be on the streets - if they are short of things to do they can make masks and ventilators

There are lots of idiots around who simply don't seem to understand the importance of compliance.....what is worse is that the police are not regulating and show little interest in doing anything about people walking about...! With this scenario there is no hope of controlling the spread of the virus....who is the senior police officer responsible for carrying out government instructions or alternatively who is the Minister of home affairs who is actually responsible for policing in Poland....they need to step up and do what they are paid to do and that is to manage....they are accountable to the public and the public need to be reassured that police correctly apply the regulations now in place....are these people afraid of confrontation...? I don't care if the idiots are happy to catch the virus but not at the cost of everyone else who comply with the regulations.

Why is there no hope of stopping it ? 5 weeks into this we have a very low number of deaths. So what is to be gained by stopping people having a walk - in a few weeks we will all be back at work anyway

And people who comply wont run into the idiots will they? Please. The numbers in Poland clearly show the curve flattening. Further measures will not do much. Curve on the decline in Detroit already and they are 3 weeks behind us. There is only one reason for these controls being in place till the end of the month, and its not to stop spreading because it cant be stopped.

Absolutely Correct, it can't be stopped and won't be stopped until they release the vaccine for it.

Probably are und the end of April - people will run out of money then. I'm certainly not going to spend the whole summer sat inside.

I am pretty patient. But my limit will be the end of the month. Not for any other reason than 2 months of this is enough. If they cant get it together by then, I cant wait and stand still for incompetence.

If the economy (of any country) doesn't start to get back into motion by the beginning of May there's not going to be any economy left...

Coronavirus is weird, its spread and deadliness have varied wildly from place to place and both the medical establishment and governments have little idea of what's going on or what to do next...

My best guess (ignoring most mass media and following some people who seem to know what they're doing) places with widespread bcg (anti-turberculosis) vaccination (like Poland) have significantly lower spread and fatality rates... correlation isn't causation but it shouldn't be ignored either.

As far as I can tell, climate (certain temperature and humility margins), population genetics (there's a specific gene related to vitamin c that correlates with high risk) and medical system(like bcg vaccination) all seem to have significant influence on the course of this thing...

I think that the restrictions in Poland need to be (slowly and selectively) lifted, waiting for a vaccination is a dead end game. (especially since there's not much talk of fast tracking testing and production)

This is true they won't run into the idiots, but sadly the idiots will return from their excursion/grouping having caught the virus (maybe....maybe not...bit of gamble really) and run into/infect the people who do comply with current regulations..but of course you just need to wait a week or so to find out the results....and who knows where and with whom those people have been with in the meantime....

Financially, this doesnt really effect me. The control of additional restrictions, when clearly, in Poland this is really under control, makes zero sense. Want to control it? Lock down Warsaw, and all of Silesia and you have the major effected areas. Stop travel in and out for two weeks, and you will really have this thing controlled. Or stretch this out as long as possible to limit the number of people voting and.....

We will develop new ones!

You can't build a successful economy on theft....not in the long run!

More important is in my opinion that the governments take from now on a closer look when Chinese come to buy out firms and companies...and with it old engineering, constructing and design knowledge.

It's time to put a stop on some things! Money shouldn't be able to buy EVERYTHING! Maybe that crisis will change some things for the better in the end...

Same here in Michigan with a Democrat Govenor.
95% of the deaths and testing positive are in the three Black counties that are adjacent to each other in Detroit.
The whole Upper peninsula of Michigan only 50 people have tested positive but it is shut down along with Detroit.
It just isn't making any sense.
And where in the hell is the testing to see if you have contracted it and are immune to it so you can go back to work !

I don't think they want the public to know that 70% of us would test positive.

With NY now saying they are reaching their peak infection rate and predicting a slow roll back of social distancing and stay at home orders, how can Poland be not close to peak yet according to the health ministry? This is simply impossible when NY was 2 or 3 weeks behind Poland, and the numbers again clearly show a flattened line of infections here over the last two weeks. A few odd days of spikes, reportedly due to nursing homes becoming completely infected, it could be argued that the numbers are trending down. While I dont have the right to vote yet in the national elections, this is pretty fishy to say the least.

Firstly because they're a bunch of incompetents and secondly because restrictions on movement need to stay in place until after the presidential election so that PIS can have their postal vote.

And after that, the infection rate will skyrocket towards a new "peak".

Not buying that propaganda. My sister is an ER Doc in NYC, and I have a client in Detroit who's wife is a director at one of the largest hospitals. Both are saying peak has arrived as the infection and treatment rates are on the decline in both places. Poland is 2 or 3 weeks ahead. The propaganda simply isnt being held up by science.

Starting to see maybe the PiS paranoia is not so much paranoia as it is belief based on experience. Wear masks when in public after 5 weeks of other restrictions makes no sense when numbers that they are reporting themselves have clearly flattened.

The numbers flattened because of the restrictions. Call them off, and the people who have been staying at home, would be getting infected en masse.


Doctors don't know jack sh!t about epidemiology. They just treat people.

Probably true as far as that goes and Poland's hospitalization and fatality rate has been pretty low (thanks to restrictions) but Poland is either now peaking or has peaked and numbers will continue to drop and so some restrictions should be eased (slowly).
