Poland under pressure of EU to accept more asylum seeking refugees

Timmo

I really do not understand what EU wants to make. Can someone explain me please, Why they do not want share Syrian refugees? They will take Turkey to Schengen in October. These Syrians already live in Turkey and will get citizenship maybe in future. After all Turkish unemployment people or Syrians will be in EU everywhere. Why did EU pay 3 milliard euro for send them to Turkey? They do not want share 1-2 million Syrians but opening gate for 80 million Turkish? Thats pathetic.

Why they do not want share Syrian refugees?

Let's say Poland as it is a big country will let a million of them into its territory. Give them houses/flats and provide them with a support in the means of money and education. Then after some time 99% of them will move abroad because Poland isn't attractive nor a target country for them. Additionally there are no real ways to check if they actually are refugees and not scammers or just illegal economic migrants.

We've been here. There are plenty of ways. Interrogate them. After all, PIS are good at this with the populace:(

Correct. We have been here before but without any rational solution to the obvious need to identify the status of the migrants. I recall your solution was to quiz them about the name of their local butchers on Revolutionary Square or something like that !

@Nocy: for once I agree with you! ;) Yes, the problem is that authorities are not able to distinguish GENUINE war refugees from economic migrants or other scum. EU's officials said so many times : lack of interpreters able to distinguish accents, fake passports (for a few euros or dollars, one can get a Syrian passport..).

When Merkel invited all 3rd world to move to Europe, couldn't she as well as Junker and the whole clique think about the situation? It beats me.

Stupidity is very dangerous and it is surely proved by current situation. Personally I am both angry and traumatized (I cannot go over terrorist attacks in Paris and sexual agressions against women less than 1 month ago in Germany and other European countries).

Even if Merkel were kicked out, it would not solve problem. Hundreds of thousands of UNCONTROLLED migrants come every month to EU and by LAW they canNOT be expelled.... Well, laws can be changed but do EU want to change current laws??????

Merkel and consorts have destroyed Europe where democray was born! Shame on them!

Poland will be the #1 destination

Poland may not become No, 1, but when the Western countries close their doors to the migrant wave, will the migrants stop coming or choose less attractive countries? Maybe for the time being figuring that eventually somehow they'll make it over to Germany or Scandinavia?

when the Western countries close their doors to the migrant wave, will the migrants stop coming

All evidence so far is that they will not stop arriving till forced. Simply finding borders 'closed' won't stop them.

Things will get very ugly very fast and the people who've been warning against this crap will be blamed by the out-of-touch elite and their media, I'm afraid.

Polonius3

will get very ugly

And when will Merkel have to face the Hague Tribunal or wherver political criminals are tried are tried? Let's not forget that the leftist know-alls laughed at KaczyƄski when he warned of the ills of uncontrolled migration. Now his words are coming true in Germany, France, Denmark, Norway, Austria, Slovakia, Italy.....

Bavarian CSU government threatens Merkel with court but so what the harm is already done. I am now horrifed with all stories found every day in RELIABLE sources. I read yesterday that in Sweden a 15-year refugee boy killed a woman working in his shelter and the whole country of Sweden is most shocked.

Court would be a waste of time and of money for Merkel and her clique. They may well finish the way Mussolini did..

Merkel and consorts have destroyed Europe

You really believe that the wave of refugees/migrants could've been stopped without Merkel, Hollande, Cameron and Junker allowing them into Europe? In hindsight it's easy to point the finger at them, but don't forget that Greece and Italy were already flooded with people from the Middle East and North Africa long before Merkel opened her stupid mouth, and the two countries would've been overrun within months anyway. The biggest mistake that was made was that the EU didn't control its outer borders in the first place.

InPolska

Yes, true, things started long before last summer but let's say that with Merkel's opening her mouth, the "sh..t has hit the fan" The question is NOW what to do???? A lot of people say "stop giving them benefits" but would it be enough?

99.98% of the 3rd world want to come to the West for obvious reasons. We can for instance read a lot of messages in PF from such people who are so desperate that they dream about using Poland to enter EU and move westwards.

What to do? It is not a matter of generosity, of selfishness or anything else. Europe and other Western countries cannot take in tens and soon hundreds of millions of migrants. First of all, we don't have the space, we don't have the financial means...

Nobody has any answer!

I am most pessimistic.

Sweden

The leftist know-alls are now condemning another Scandinavian country, Denmark, for threatening to confiscate mirgants' assets above a certain level and withholding benefits for an extended period. Every country will have to figure out the best approach since the EU cannot be counted on resolve the mess. At the very least, the EU should fund a giant, impenetrable barrier along their perimiters.

InPolska , Don't worry migrants don't want to come to Poland, If Poland takes in migrants 99% of them will be in Germany or the UK within a year.

Its probably a good thing for Poland to keep a economic low profile (to discourage migrants) until this madness is over.

@Pol: how can Europe built a fence around to protect themselves? Europe cannot build something like the Chinese wall ;).

@Dolno: of course, they don't want to come to Poland but Poland is not the EU, they are 27 more countries. I read that Germany will kick out "criminals" but to ... where??? If they are WAR REFUGEES, according to international laws, they cannot be sent back home so to where?

Polonius3

countries should ship their unwanted migrants (under armed escort if required) to Germany. Merkel started it, her countrymen in Munich greeted the newcoemrs with "Willkommen" signs and gifts so let them solve it.

@Pol: I don't believe Germans will now shout "Welcome to Germany". What to do? To Merkel's flat???? ;)

To Merkel's flat????

The actual logistics is for the EU to work out.

Europe cannot build something like the Chinese wall, The Berlin wall and in fact the whole iron curtain was highly effective, Angela Merkel knows all about this she has been on the wrong side of it.

Machine gun Turrets and 200m of landmines is a highly effective deterrent, this project would also create many new jobs. Tunnels could be a problem but seismic sensores could also be buried.

There are still probably plans and the people who have the knowledge to build it.

InPolska
27 Jan 2016  #1879

@Dolno: to build something like the Berlin Wall all around Europe will take a he.. of a time.

dolnoslask
27 Jan 2016  #1880

Inpolska you are right the full blown top job would take time but razor wire and landmines are relatively cheap and can be deployed quite quickly, if you see the old pictures at the beginning of the Berlin wall it was just barbed wire with soldier every hundred yards or so to begin with.

No wall is need. What's need for countries who can to simply bypass current law. Start intercepting boats at sea, sink them. Drop the passengers off on the coast of Afria or Turkey. Keep repeateding until the flow subsides.

There is no political will for this to happen though.

InPolska
27 Jan 2016  #1882

@Dolno: I don't know how our politicians function. Nobody can say that having millions of UNCONTROLLED migrants is no problem. Now even official and other reliable media tell horror stories all day long every day. I'm both angry and shocked and as a woman, I cannot get over what happened in Germany and other places on 31.12. WHO could dare finding excuses???

How is it going to end? Revolution all over Europe (I read that Pergida organizes a demonstration in a lot of EU countries, including Poland, on 6.2) and then what? Revolution will not solve problem.

We are really stuck.

PS: all the few Poles I know who were in favor of taking in a few REFUGEES now don't want any....

dolnoslask
27 Jan 2016  #1883

"Start intercepting boats at sea, sink them" no no no you can't just randomly kill people, If you to mine the coastline and have warnings in place then people would at least have the choice to enter or not,, The consequences would be down to them at the end of the day.

Border with Turkey is not than long. I mean the land border. Mostly EU borders with Africa is a sea, those waters need to be patrolled. Pontoons and ships used for smuggling people can be easy bombed and sunk. A Sea Patrols instead of transporting those people into the EU should transport them back to African shore, set camps for them there.

The EU is slowly disintegrating.
If Poland can stand strong for a bit longer in not converting the zloty and refusing to take high risk undesirables this madness should come to an end once the EU falls which should be in the near future.

27 Jan 2016  #1886

Inpolska "Revolution all over Europe " don't worry this will not happen in Poland as long as we have the means to defend ourselves.

Love him or hate him the great bear in the east will roar and not allow madness and disorder to move beyond the German Polish border.

"Poles I know who were in favor of taking in a few REFUGEES" I would but I would go get them from Syria myself, plenty of Yazdis and Christians are suffering through no fault of their own. plenty of space and empty houses where I live, would create work for people to do em up.

@Dolno: I'm not worrying about Poland although of course Poland will also pay for the consequences (Poland is no island in the sun but depends upon others to survive) but as a European, I am worring about my continent. Europe used to be so great....

Inpolska "European, I am worring about my continent. Europe used to be so great"

I'm so sorry that you are right, my wife and I decided that things were bad in Europe, it is one of the reasons we bought a safe house in Poland, wonderful no stabbings murders bombings be headings to worry about when we walk round town.

Yep things were once good in Europe, it all seemed to go down hill after the 70's well apart from the cold war thing.

Did you miss the part where I said deposit the passengers on the closest coast? Take the passengers off the boat, sink it, drop the passengers off at any handy nearby coast.
