No, that's not quite right. The general agreement in the legal community is that Article 18 puts marriage between a man and a woman under the "the protection and care of the Republic of Poland.". This is understood to mean that such marriages must be protected by the country, but it's silent on the issue of other marriages. There's no prohibition on same-sex marriages, only that they aren't under the protection of the Republic, so they can be allowed and then not allowed, all by statute, whereas marriage between a man and a woman requires a change in the Constitution if you want to ban them.

Did you know that they're already recognised in Poland in some aspects? For instance, Poland gives residence permits to non-EU same sex partners if they're legally married, for instance.

Poland does not legally recognize same-sex unions, either in the form of marriage or civil unions. In 2012, the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples have limited legal rights in regards to the tenancy of a shared household. A few laws also guarantee certain limited rights for unmarried couples, including couples of the same sex. Same-sex spouses also have access to residency rights under EU law.

Actually, PiS is right there. VERY RIGHT. It was in our media here. Serbia also had great hope of Albania and Northern Macedonia start talks of EU membership. Its because those countries represent, same as Kosovo, wild domain of narco mafia and Islamic league. Greater presents of EU would be seen (at least symbolically) as bringing law. But no, EU leading powers exploit chaos and pushing region into war. PiS more and more deflect from official EU.

I am afraid that this was a huge mistake. North Macedonia finally gave in the name dispute with Greece because it was promised that it would become applicable for membership. Now that it does not have this perspective anymore, who knows what they do.

It would have taken more than a decade for them to be admitted anyway, so Macron's fears were rather unreasonable.

Out of the EU they will surely continue causing problems. In it, they would get a chance to reform.
