@Admin, it's not up to you to decide which thoughts needs to be quoted - it should be up to the poster. You're going way too far with this - it's some crazy control freak behaviour on your part, not normal modding.

Also, there's plenty of posts with more than one quote being posted, so what's the deal? If there are multiple thoughts in a message then it's okay to quote multiple times. But some posters essentially post the entire message in multiple quotes which is insulting to reasonable people who remember what the post is about.

Also, the posts weren't edited before so why do you have this sudden need to do that? Only the most infamous may be edited.

BTW - posts are not edited. Only the quotes may be cut (but still not edited). Hopefully you understand the difference that "your" posts are not edited.

Two quotes are not "multiple quotes". And not everybody reads whole discussions o_O Also, multiple quotes are not "insulting" to me, so speak for yourself. You may be the owner of this forum, but there are other people on this forum too - not just you. You started the drama over nothing, not me.

Admin, after your edit of this post of mine people may think that I was referreing to the Chinese themed hotel in Kielce since that's the hotel jon357 wrote about in the last comment before mine, but it was my answer to jon357's question about Novotel in another post. You know which hotel I was referreing to, because you saw the quote before deleting it, but people who didn't see the quote will have no idea which hotel I was talking about. Do you understand now? People are not mind readers. Your edits are not making things better, they're making posts more confusing. So far only you are disoriented about edited quotes, but we'll watch how it's going to work in the future.

I think it's because I openly wrote that I've never liked how this forum was run and so I won't support it financially. Admin is clearly petty and vindictive, because I've noticed that every time I criticised PF my posts would get suddenly modded in an overzealous manner :)

Yes, I understand what "editing posts" (not "text" in the posts) mean, but I guess you don't - cutting out quotes, changing the order of the text and embedding images into a post (all of that was done to my posts so far) is editing posts.

Dude, you EDITED my post even though there was nothing wrong with it (so you edited it over "nothing"), so you started the "drama". It's hilarious that you allegedly wanted to sell the forum, because your priorities changed or sth, but now suddenly you have the time to analyse every post and every quote to such an extent as to decide which quote is needed and which isn't lol

That's because I react right away after it happens. Whenever I notice that you edited my posts I explain in a seperate post what happened to my post and what I was referreing to. I want to be precise and I don't want people to be confused by my posts.

I was the first person to reply to the OP. The thread title was edited to include the words 'Zurek soup' which made my post look as if I was suggesting a type of soup that the OP already knew about, which clearly she didn't.

Also, the first quote in that post wasn't made by me, it was edited and added after I posted it. So, an extra post was added as you clearly didn't think I had given an adequate explanation. Two things that are at odds with your quotes above.

To be honest I'm fed up with all this. It used to be that 3 quotes were allowed so I dutifully complied and made two posts if I had multiple people to reply to. I then found the posts were being merged into one containing 5 or 6 posts which was supposedly against the rules. It's a no win situation.

This isn't the first time my posts have been edited recently either.

I sometimes wish the time for editing is longer, especially due to the very slow internet speed and poor connection here. In that recipe for cheese biscuits the other day, I forgot to say not to add salt to the dough because of the cheese but it was too late.

I think it's about 5 minutes. It could do with being a bit longer as quite often I'm too late with an edit because I thought of something else to be added a few minutes after posting.

In the case of the Zurek soup thread, the title was edited hours after the thread was opened. Slow internet connection must be a real pain.

I'm fed up with this too. In the past multiple posts were allowed and noone had a problem with that. Then it went down to three, then to two and now it's only one?? What's next? No quotes allowed at all? We'll be forced to write descriptive essays, so people would know what we're talking about? It's a freaking internet forum and not literature/writing classes. It's supposed to be entrainment, fun, not torture. I'm not going to waste my time spending hours on crafting my posts in such a way as to not to "trigger" Admin. Especially that I clearly don't know what "thoughtfully quoted" means to Admin and so posting on PF will be for me like playing a Russian roulette now and a waste of time :(

Hey, we finally arrived and got settled in and it looks like my hotspot is working here so I can post so 'Dead Man Walking' can't project his lie that I am in prison.

It used to be less (2 or 3 minutes). It's 5 minutes (edit: or over 6 now? o_O) only because I made a "drama" that there's too little time to edit a post. Of course, at first Admin claimed that it's enough and that it's a problem only for me. Only after more people complained he finally made that change. It's honestly tiresome that on this forum a bunch of users have to make a "drama" in order for the admin to listen to the voice of reason.

Not to mention all that depends on how often/ how you read thread. You are here rarely and read big portions of a thread at one time. A lot of us will read small portions of different threads when we are here and the nothing for some time and back. In that case you don't follow the discussion in a way that enables you to remember the post. Of you are like me and check the forum on a phone you can read posts one by one sometimes.

I think the quote thing does nothing to improve and is a rule for rules sake. It's easier for people who don't like them to move to the text under the quote then it is for people who don't to figure out what the post refers to.

Editing, moving, merging, deleting posts is part of an unthankful moderating job. I gather it's impossible to satisfy everyone, but that's not the point. I've seen a commercial where a young person was sitting on a couch playing with his phone and his mom was trying to vacuum the carpet. He got angry at her that she dared to interrupt him. My thought was - why wasn't he doing the chores instead.
