Speaking of God, why is it that God who allegedly created the universe did not create any of the medical supplies and equipment typically found in hospitals, for example? Compared to all the stars, planets, snakes, and elephants, that should be a snap. Instead, it took a billion years to make that stent that saved my ass in 2011 available just in case.

In some weird way, I feel sorry for people like this. They are scared of death and are simply trying to dress up their resumes with as many golden stars as possible before they die. It sure feels better to believe that a man has a soul - a vapor that will exist forever with only one remaining question: is it going to be Baltimore or Monaco?

Well...technology is behind that too. Scientists are often enough spiritual beings too and want to know.

Near-Death experiences (NDE's and OBE's) are clinically studied as we speak...so I for sure would keep an open mind about it an my eyes peeled on the news.

Dying is not a perfect step function. It has shades - from alive to absolutely and positively dead. Anything in between has a variety of symptoms the dying person will experience. If that person does not reach the 100% dead stage and "come back", it does not mean that that person came from the dead, saw the light of Heaven and maybe even the real gate. That "gate to Heaven" is a picture the brain stored as a result of the images created during indoctrination.

Absolutely! Research has shown that the images you get during an NDE are most often (but not always) influenced from your culture and religious teachings (if you believe them or not).

But there are other things happening during NDE's which are not so clearly explainable. For example Out-of-Body-Experiences (OBEs). When a dying man on an operating table reports later after re-animation he remembers moving out of his body, seeing his body from above, that he was crossing walls at will and could exactly retell a telephone conservation he listened to two floors downwards which was afterwards confirmed by the one who made it, then that get's you thinking.

If that is only a neurological/biochemical process made by our brain during the process of dying I want some of that in a pill...

I don't buy any of that and will not in the future until this kind of experiment is conducted under strictly controlled conditions. People lie all the time and the healing TV preachers are the best example how it's done. Same with the crooks like Sylvia Browne who could "talk" to the dead. That would be determined by God, not I as only He knows your heart.
Someone with a soft heart and has a personal relationship with God may not have to pray as hard as someone who has a hard heart and mocks God.
