Germany lost 30% of its population in the 30 year war from 1618 to 1648. In some regions over 70% of the population was killed.

What happened in WW II in Poland was nothing compared to this. Some cities like Magdeburg got completly wiped out. Do you know what it means? When a mayor city is wiped out? Not a single person left alive from thousands of inhabitants?

Of course its only bad when the germans do it.

Fun fact, the british kileld 40 million indians in the same time period. From 1938 to 1941.

The Jews then, the age-old scapegoat, became the easiest target of collective German frustrations.

I've even read it was the 30 years war and the nearly 100 years the people needed to get back on their feet again afterwards which made Germans so stereotypical "ordnungsliebend"...as everything is better than to relive that chaos and horror ever again. It shaped our national character like nothing else...

Of course alot of generalizing going on in that theory but I might think there is a grain of truth innit.

When you look at it, its amazing, no other people in the world did more for humanity than Germans.

Almost all great things we use today were invented in Germany and i think the hate we get from others, is because of that.

The car was invented in Germany and changed the way humanity moves.

The first flying man was a German - Otto Lilienthal, who build worlds first glider

The worlds first jet engine was build by a German. Changing the way of flying till today.

Nuclear power was invented in Germany, which revolutionized the way we get energy.

Robert Koch did not just discover Bacteria but also invented vaccination. Whichs aved the lifes of millions.

X-Rays were invented by a German.

Chemical fertilizer was invented by a german and feeds billions today.

the first functional rocket engine was build by a german, who also happened to build the Saturn V rocket which brought humanity to the Moon and later on the Space Shuttle.

I´m damn proud for our achievements and we have evry reason to be proud.

Weimarer you have nothing to prove here to us Poles you are talking to Americans, you would be so surprised at how welcome you are over here in Poland, especially in Silesia, there are tens of thosands of Poles working and integrated in Germany.

In short you have nothing to prove or defend , better we talk about our joint passion for sausage and sauerkraut.

Quite a few places in Poland were wiped out in WW2 as well. Poland lost 19% of its population within six years of the war, so it's far more than 30% in 30 years- not to mention those who lived in the lands taken by the soviet Union after the war.

As for major cities being wiped out, well out of over a million Varsovians living there before the war, only hundreds were left.

And just because there were other nations murdering others, it doesn't make Nazi crimes any less serious.
There's no point blaming contemporary Germans for WW2 but please don't excuse Nazi crimes.

I don't think thats true, he has seen Polands Brinkmanship for reparations angainst Merkels demands to rid herself of migrants to Poland and that I think has upset him, truth is Poles want neither reparations or Merkels migrants.

The problematic thing is that this remembrance is a big reason for the current refugee friendly policy of Germany...everything which looks like "closed purses and borders" is seen as Nazi-like and is hence to be disapproved.

Today it's enough to prefer Law and Order and wanting to control the immigration to be shoved in the Nazi-corner....sad but true. Best example is that recent "survey" by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung which caused such a ruckus. It get's really ridiculous.
