True enough. Plus, the Puritans aka Pilgrim Fathers did advocate most vociferously "Spare the rod and spoil the child!"

Many felt, and still do, that a sound, solid beating done on a fairly regular basis, actually builds character. If that's the case, most W.A.S.P. Americans must have an awfully good character:-))

They do with high morals and respect too.
