Music I have never got bored of

Joker

Yep, love the blues :)

You missed the best one from ZepIV

youtu.be/_ZiN_NqT-Us

I could listen Zep all the time, Pink Floyd as well.

The odds of anyone else enjoying this are minimal

Is that Crows cousin?

And I hate Bruce Springsteen as well.... sorry....

Same here. Not as much as Stevie Nicks, she's sounds like a Rooster being strangled.

Heres my buddy from Chicago. If he goes for your beer, just give it to him!

Lonnie Brooks Blues guitarist

youtu.be/ytsOaB_kvNU

I miss this guy, he put on one hell of a show!

Lonnie Brooks is good too.

I got bored of "Stairway to Heaven" many years ago and "Battle of Evermore" has replaced that for me now.

Problem with Stairway to Heaven is that it's been played to death. Battle of Evermore takes me straight back to when I was living in Glastonbury, Led Zep along with Pink Floyd are constant reminders of that time for me.

This is one you missed.... ;-)

I almost posted that one! But I didn't want to give you a blues overdose ;-) Strangely enough, Joker chose that one too!

The odds of anyone else enjoying this are minimal,

I'm afraid you are right Delph! Plus I'm another Bruce Springsteen hater. I know he was hugely popular but I couldn't see the attraction......

I could listen Zep all the time, Pink Floyd as well.

Me too, although I prefer later stuff by Pink Floyd. I have all their early albums, but If I had to choose a favourite it would be ' A Momentary Lapse of Reason'.

One Slip - Pink Floyd

youtu.be/tOPNa753e1E

The Dogs of War - Pink Floyd

youtu.be/0XrYoNbO-78

A bit more Led Zep......

Immigrant Song

I am very curious to see what people think of my posts tonight.
Some may hate them others may love them.....but in these difficult times I wanted some songs that make me smile at least.
This is Amadou and Mariam featuring Bertrant Cantat with "Oh Amadou".... African music but a touch bluesy....

youtu.be/fypZUjUxHNo

This is Manu Chao with "Me Gustas Tu".

@Chemikiem

I enjoyed all your posts but "Immigrant Song" is the killer for me.
Zep never released singles in the UK but they did in the States.
As a kid I used to listen to AFN Frankfurt, AFN stands for American Forces Network, this was the radio station for American troops in Germany.

They had a chart show and I remember being overwhelmed when this song made number one in the American charts......

@Joker

Liked all your posts.
But agreed, Albert is the best.... :-)

Just two tunes tonight.

I'm afraid I couldn't get into those ones Milo, not for me :-(

Popa Chubby

Out of the three, I liked this one the best. I have never heard of any of them before.

As a kid I used to listen to AFN Frankfurt

Never heard of that one I must admit. I vaguely remember listening to John Peel , who used to play a lot of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, and Radio Luxembourg 208, but I wasn't very old at the time and can't remember what else was played to be honest.

A few more songs but I doubt you'll like these....

Rock and Roll Doctor - Little Feat

youtu.be/z3LNhZ7msI4

Dixie Chicken - Little Feat

youtu.be/7RvR3j535qc

Jethro Tull - Locomotive Breath

youtu.be/i19d1QnstsA

Jethro Tull - Sweet Dream

youtu.be/bjhl__7Y3N4

Jethro Tull - Minstrel in the Gallery

I am not surprised that you didn't like Inglorious, but I thought that Govt Mule would be right up your street.... bad boy Milo... got that one wrong... :-)

Onto your posts.

A few more songs but I doubt you'll like these

You are partially right with Little Feat.
I have known their music since God was a boy.
Appreciate them as musicians.
Loved Lowel George's voice.
Liked the country, bluesy place they were coming from.... but... there is always a but.... too slow and ploddy(is that even a word?) for me.... I like a bit of energy in my rock.

As for Jethro Tull, I love them!!
All of it.......

From Living in the Past onwards.....

youtu.be/m__wmsIn99E

Thick as a brick was also excellent, our American friends may struggle to get that... thick in England means stupid.

youtu.be/u9bk2MrMGaA

I love Jethro Tull so much that even I forgave them for Bungle in the Jungle...... :-)

youtu.be/tGltpPVLoL4

Last one from Jethro Tull and one of my favourites. .... Bouree....

Just before I hit the sack I'm gonna post a few Floyd songs.
I quite like some of their sixties psychedelic pop songs, but they were before my time.
This was more or less my entry point with Floyd from the album called More this is Cymbaline.

youtu.be/ZM5iopSs_rI

The Nile Song is from the same album....

youtu.be/MduQlWUoyhI

Penultimate post..... High Hopes.....

I had to end with one I have never got bored of... The Great Gig in the Sky....

Breaking News! The King and Queen of rock and Roll is dead!

Little Richard, Founding Father of Rock Who Broke Musical Barriers, Dead at 87
No more tutti frutti.... True story , my friend was hitchhiking in California and little Richard picked him up and tried paying him for sex.

youtu.be/gVWm9PQeYtE

His face always looked like it was made out of melting plastic.

Crow
9 May 2020  #288

melting plastic

drug can do that to one, you know

little Richard picked him up and tried paying him for sex

So little Richard was attacker from behind?

Well, the `hole` is wondrous thing. It just depend which kind of `hole` you like. And then you finish in a hole. Entire life rotate around the hole. Galaxy rotate around hole. Everything.

jon357
9 May 2020  #289

So little Richard was attacker from behind?

Something entirely different and more banal than something that doesn't quite rhyme with banal, too delicate to post details about here.

No more tutti frutti

Or Good Golly, Miss Molly and Lucille. He'll be missed.

Joker
9 May 2020  #290

He did have some good hits. Its was way before my time...RIP

Well, the `hole` is wondrous thing.

You are truly warped.

I'm throwing this one at you - it came up randomly on youtube, and while it's not the best song ever, it has a certain 'something'.

Rollins Band

jon357
9 May 2020  #296

Its was way before my time.

Mine too. People say that one of his best (it's in the biopic about him) was the concert in the early 60s in my home town, organised by Andrew Loog Oldham, The Stones' manager. There had been reports that he'd 'got religion' so he started it pretending to give a sermon, then ripped his preaching robes off and started the rock and roll.

Joker
10 May 2020  #297

The Stones' manager.

Mick Jagger released a statement " he was the biggest inspiration of my teen years".

I found out yesterday that Jimi Hendrix played in his band when he was starting out.
