Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 6

mafketis

That's Türkiye.

please..... (rolls eye) There' nothing wrong with Turkey (since umlauts are not part of English spelling).

It's not the best chosen name for the country (I still think they should have just updated the name to Osmaniye (Osmanıya) or maybe something like Anadolıya.... Turk technically refers to a much larger group and is a bit like Spain calling itself Latinia..... or Romancia

But this air exercise is all about Russia. How far is Turkey willing to go?

I guess if one country show's it give's a **** about the most important part of the treaty it is out for good.

Would a foreign attack prove that NATO as a whole gives a **** about article 5 that would mean the end of NATO!

Some things are just not negotiable....

should have just updated the name to Osmaniye (Osmanıya)

Given that the Kemalists fought battles against the Osman family, expropriated all their property, and then finally expelled all of them from Turkey - it would be highly unusual to do so. It doesn't seem you know much about modern Turkey.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osmano%C4%9Flu_family

Regarding their conflict with the Greeks, it's actually in its hottest phase in more than 40 years. Not as bad as in the 1970s with Cyprus and whatnot, but bad enough that Turkish anti air systems regularly establish fire locks on Greek military aircraft.

...or Serbia calling herself Slavia. No, wait a minute... they would love to call themselves that. Let's not give them ideas. ;)

Inadvertently, you identified world's number one problem:

The two worst warmongering warmongers - the US and the UK - were only "spectators" and never had a real war at home.

Ukraine is just a victim of this unfortunate omission. Nothing is as sobering as starving to death the way the good people of Leningrad did.

I don't. The US and UK warmongers do. Desperately. Those who don't, behave differently.

A bit late, but Vladimir Solovyov finally gets around to doing the Wednesday dance challenge! And it's a treat!

Ukraine's population close to half level of 1991 - think tank
Data shows Kiev faced a demographic disaster even before the conflict with Russia escalated

As birth rates have also collapsed far below replacement, in just a few years Ukraine will have twice as many retirees as working citizens, the UIF said, warning that "there will be no one to generate GDP" unless something changes.

"Corruption is the main element and lever of management. The actions of politicians and officials are subordinated to one goal - to keep power," the report says. From one of the most industrially developed Soviet republics, the UIF adds, Ukraine has devolved into a source of raw materials and "an object of international politics, where other actors determine our path."

Before you scream RT again!!!, UIF stands for the Ukrainian Institute for the Future.

Oh, how sweet that Ukrainian "freedom and democracy" is...It sure is worth dying for ... especially if you are Polish...

BTW, if I were a retiree in Ukraine I would be on my knees praying for the annexation of the whole country by Russia to get my check. "Freedom and democracy" buy only so much at the food supermarket.

Interesting idea.... hear on russian state tv a young guy (for russian state tv) says he doesn't want to die in a nuclear war.... only to have a member of the duma threaten to kill him before it reaches that stage.... (earlier they discuss whether russia should attack Berlin, Lisbon or London.... ).

to get my check

russia reaches now low...... they've destroyed the Nova Kakhoya dam doing multi-billion dollar damage to Ukraine and, incidenally, effectively cutting off the water supply to Crimea for years.... so... not even russia believes that C is russia forever....

Ukraine appears to be advancing at several points on the Donetsk front

The Ukrainian army appears to have captured several areas along the Donetsk front. Russian sources report first recaptures in the region. ...

The counter offensive seems to be underway....

Appears? You had other choices...Like Ukraine is advancing...Or Ukraine has advanced...

So how far has Ukraine advanced in the last week? In kilometers.

cause you're a coward looking for a tsar to worship...

How many loaves of bread does one pound of democracy buy in Ukraine?

Osmaniye

Too close to the Ottomans; their neighbours and allies would be spooked if they chose a name related to that. They dislike the English use of the name Turkey, for quite fowl reasons, so chose Türkiye instead. Nowadays, the Umlaut is on every keyboard somewhere.

Ukraine appears to be advancing at several points on the Donetsk front

And the big push hasn't really started yet. They seem to be testing the orcs' defences and of course they are doing this successfully.

The orcs seem terrified, as their destruction of the hydro dam shows.

...which is what the US didn't do in Vietnam and lost the war.

So you wouldn't criticize the Ukrainian government should it create a mass starvation/thirst event in Crimea...... good to know.

How many loaves of bread does one pound of democracy buy in Ukraine?

How many loaves of bread do russian promises buy anywhere?

Novichok

So you wouldn't criticize the Ukrainian government

Of course, not. They are free to inflict as much pain on the enemy as they can. And vice versa...I am so glad we got this one out of the way, dear maf...

How many loaves of bread do russian promises buy anywhere?

As many as a pound of Ukrainian democracy - zero - and that's why "democracy" is discussed only among PF Russia haters who have bread and use "democracy" as a debating tool while enjoying their visit to the High Moral Ground.

Do you, High Moral Ground occupiers, think there is even one person in Ukraine who said: Man, if I only had more democracy life would be so much better...

The orcs have of course the option to leave Crimea. As long as that bridge remains which I doubt will be that long at all.

They no longer have the firepower to do that. The 1944 Germans were on the ground with tanks and flamethrowers. And they were sober. The inebriated Udmurtians are hundreds of km away, without precision munitions and relying on drones from Alibaba.

Anyway Udmurtia is too busy firing on its own citizens and on Wagner to even dream about Kyiv.

Novichok
6 Jun 2023  #625

flamethrowers. And they were sober.

Smart. Throwing flames while drunk can end badly.

You, guys, declared Putin to be an unstable maniac off his meds but still expect him to be reasonable enough not to drop a kilo on Kiev.

So which one is it? Unstable or reasonable?

mafketis
6 Jun 2023  #626

utin to be an unstable maniac

No. He's a weak cowardly figure who's sheltered from the real world and surrounded by people blowing validation smoke up his @ss and he believed his own hype that he'd be welcomed as a liberator in Ukraine and has no idea how to get himself out of the mess he created....

Insider reports generally agree that he's very indecisive, puts off decisions until it is too late (last year's mobilization) and easy to manipulate (urge him to do what you don't want him to do... he hates being perceived as being pushed into anything).

Only a sad and broken country with no will of its own could put up with such an obvious fraud.....

Let's not switch to the US. This thread is about Ukraine and Russia.

No. He's a weak cowardly figure

To the Russia haters, that should be his most endearing character trait. Would you want him to be brave and decisive?

And they were sober.

Now more and more historians say the german soldiers back then were never really "sober", but pumped up with Pervitin all the time, the original drug developed by german scientists 1937....better known today as "Crystal Meth".

thesecuritydistillery.org/all-articles/pervitin-how-drugs-transformed-warfare-in-1939-45

I wouldn't be surprised if Putin does the same to his soldiers....you get an obedient zombie army which can keep on marching without breaks!

russia reaches now low...... they've destroyed the Nova Kakhoya dam ... and, effectively cutting off the water supply to Crimea for years....

No. The new low is the stupidity of PF posters. Sure, Russia would slash its own throat.

In that stupid post of yours, you slashed your own by arguing that Russia did it ... to hurt itself. Sure, little boy... Russia did it to copy its success in sabotaging that pipe...How many morons per thread is too many?

Kakhovka dam destruction: What you need to know
Moscow has accused Kiev of an act of deliberate sabotage that put at risk thousands of local residents

Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov claimed that the incident "was caused by a deliberate Ukrainian sabotage," warning of "dire ramifications" for tens of thousands of local residents and the ecosystem.

He noted that the sabotage was aimed at cutting the water supply to the Russian Crimea peninsula, adding that the strikes appeared to have been linked to the recent large-scale Ukrainian attacks on the Donbass front, which were thwarted by Russian defenses.

Hmm....what we know is that all the water stops Ukraine from moving it's shiny new western tanks forwards.....and Stalin did it too to stop the german advancement back then, it wouldn't be a tactical first by Moscow.

If you look at who has an advantage from that broken dam it's Russia, not Ukraine!

Back then Stalin didn't even warn his people...about 200.000 civilians drowned back then...Stalin of course didn't care, so why should Putin care about the fate of the Russians there? Sometimes history repeats itself....
