Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 6

Novichok
9 Jun 2023  #781

Putin shouldn't had invaded,

Even if he did it unprovoked...so what? Let them fight all they want and if the war-loving US and the Brits want to join in, fu*ck 'em...

How is it in Germany's interest to join a war between two ex-Soviet republics, suffer the loss of inexpensive fuel, and incur the expense of parting with the military hardware Germany had set aside for its own needs?

Any rationalization that it is an unjust war makes zero sense as there are many injustices out there. Yes, this one is close to Germany but it's also close to many other countries that have no capacity to contribute what Germany can and still manage to just watch it the way we watch a soccer match.

And then there is this stench of siding with Ukraine's "nazis" - Germany's ex-partner in killing the Soviets. Not a good idea, BB... It will be a while before Russia forgets it again.

One day, you will have to go it alone and kick the US out for good. They are not your friends so stop being useful idiots. Let the Brits and Poles play this role.

no comment...

suffer the loss of inexpensive fuel

there are things that are more important than inexpensive fuel (I don't expect you to understand... how could you? I recognize your limitations).

Please find examples of Ukrainians arguing to killing millions of russians at a time or try to maintain a semblance of human decency (I guess that's like asking a zebra to have polka dots.... but a good teacher never gives up on a student... no matter how slow)

Your wife just gave birth and it will cost how much to bring the child to adulthood?

Someone offers you 20 million dollars tax free cash to off the baby..... what do you do? (hands on that little throat?)

It will be a while before Russia forgets it again

.....well.....it isn't as if Putin gave a flying **** about Germany and what that would mean for us as he decided to invade. He forgot about Germany long before....

Novichok

it isn't as if Putin gave a flying **** about Germany as he decided to invade.

He invaded an ex-Soviet republic with no ties to Germany. If Germany wisely stay out of this mess, nothing of any significance would be different in Ukraine except that the war would be shorter. Back to my boxing analogy...It's simply cruel to offer water to a guy at count 8 and bleeding...

Germany is not a stupid country and does not have its warmongering MIL. Other than WW guilt, you have no dog in this fight. The US has its swamp, Poland has Katyn, Brtis are useful idiots, and I expected better from Germany. I really mean it.

isn't as if Putin gave a flying **** about Germany

of course he did! he _hates_ Germany almost as much as he hates the US.... do you think russian state tv would talk so often about nuking Berlin or taking 'back' Germany if he dind't hate it?

suffer the loss of inexpensive fuel, and incur the expense of parting with the military hardware

It's possible to be penny wise and pound foolish, and to continue the sayings, a stitch in time saves nine.

Yes, there is inconvenience now and there may be greater inconvenience to come. That however is nothing compared to the problems stored up for later if Muscovy is allowed to just take what and who they want as is seen by other autocratic pariah states to have got away with that.

Yes, Germany was sluggish to say the leastand it was a huge shock to a mercantile country to have their cheap hydrocarbons threatened. I don't have a much or any respect for many of their politicians (Scholz especially) however the public opinion there did seem to be saying that doing the right thing is more important than political expediency and a fast buck; with the Leopards etc, they've come good and I hope that will remain.

Since you mentioned Germany, there's a very good parallel. The free world was wringing its hands and clutching pearls when the Third Reich was illegally arming itself, discreetly training military pilots and then invading the Rhineland. Not intervening at that time led to a war where millions died.

Should we repeat that mistake with Muscovy?

Novichok
9 Jun 2023  #789

if Muscovy is allowed to just take what and who they want.

Moscow didn't want to take anything. All Moscow wanted was:

1. Ukraine to be neutral.
2. Russian minority to be treated fairly and equally.
3. Recognition of Crimean Russians' self-determination to be independent of Ukraine. See Kosovo.

That was it. The Western warmongers did everything in their power to make this impossible by canceling the April 2022 meeting in Turkey.

So do me a favor and stop resorting to stupid one-liners like the one I just quoted,

Almost funny...

Western-provided ammunition destined for Ukraine fell prey to train thieves in Poland on Sunday. Local media reported that the now detained criminals had not targeted the military cargo intentionally, but rather chosen the crates by chance.

...hahahahahahahahaha...

It would be even more hilarious if they stole a nuke and took it apart. Then press that red button with "GO" on it.

That contradicts Putin's own words about the future of his country.

So do me a favor and stop resorting to stupid

So do me a favour and stop resorting to stupid contradictions of any inconvenient truths that you disagree with.

At least it's now proven that ruzzia destroyed the dam. Their denials were, as always, lies.

Has ruzzia ever admitted wrongdoing?

thieves in Poland

In England, thieves have been stealing expensive agricultural equipment so they can remove key parts that aren't available in ruzzia. Fortunately the police and farmers are now a step ahead of that.

Has ruzzia ever admitted wrongdoing?

Yes. Stupidly, they have a Katyn memorial. They also abolished the DP.

At least it's now proven that ruzzia destroyed the dam.

I am too smart to buy your evasive passive tense. Normally, we say X proved Y. Who is X?

Entirely normal.

And it's well enough covered in the media.

Has Moscow ever admitted any wrongdoing?

"russia hasin't really started yet."

The head of Russian state TV network RT and one of Vladimir Putin's top propagandists has suggested Moscow should freeze the war in the face of state-of-the-art Western weaponry that Ukraine now holds.

Margarita Simonyan, who has regularly called for all-out war on Ukraine, argued on prime-time television in favour of a negotiated solution and a halt to hostilities while referenda are organised in Russian-occupied territory.

She presented her U-turn as a best-case scenario now that Ukraine has access to Nato-supplied weapons now being used on Russia soil and in the counter offensive.

Kiev's reluctance to probe dam collapse 'unsurprising' - Moscow
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman says Ukraine's objections to an international probe fit a pattern of stonewalling

On Thursday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba lashed out at Türkiye, after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan offered to organize a UN-backed three-party investigation into the frontline dam's destruction. The diplomat claimed it was "absolutely clear" who was responsible, adding that he was "sick and tired" of calls to probe events that occur during the conflict.

With all that evidence that Russia did it to fu*ck its plans to surge West, why is the UFM "sick and tired"? He should be ecstatic to see UN experts lifting rocks...

Probably a few Namibian

One Leopard is 9 million bucks. Annual income in Namibia is 9 thousand dollars. Conclusion: One unbought Leopard could support 1000 Namibian families for a year.

This just in...
Four more Ukrainian Leopard 2 tanks destroyed - Moscow
All attempts to advance by Kiev forces have been fruitless, Russia's Defense Ministry has said

The Russian military has destroyed nine Ukrainian tanks, including four German-made Leopard 2s, as it successfully repelled attempts at advancing by Kiev forces, Russia's Ministry of Defense has said.

Now I have another question...

How many German retirees who are barely able to pay their heating and food bills would benefit from the money unspent on the war with a known outcome?

jon357
10 Jun 2023  #805

One unbought Leopard could support 1000 Namibian families for a year.

I doubt they'd spend it on that.

For Namibia (a country with a tiny population and far more affluent than most in Africa), a fairer distribution of the diamond revenue would do.

And Putin's estimated ill-gotten wealth is $200 billion. There are countries in Africa which would be changed forever with just a quarter of that to spend on economic and social development.

How many German retirees who are barely able to pay their heating and food bills

Sorry, Novi, but you evidently don't k ow much about German retirement pensions or living standards.

Anyway, here's the official updates for today:

Rich thinks that all pensioners live like him - with a rock hard loaf of bread and a tin of sprats, listening to a crappy old Vietnamese radio.

I have visited both Namibia and Udmurtia for work and I know which one I would rather go back to. Living standards in Windhoek are certainly comparable to Moscow.
