Ukraine continues to make gains in Russia. Strange how this topic has gotten so quiet while this is happening. More than 10K Ukraine soldiers involved in this invasion into Russia, and thats an impressive number considering how many are being used on the eastern front. Now with two key bridges blown up, Ukraine may be able to hold this territory for some time. Anyone want to speculate about a brokered peace deal and when it could happen?

I can't see either side looking to negotiate until New Year. They will both want to see if Trump wins - which looks increasingly unlikely.

There are two options - with sanctions lifted or not:

Option 1 - sanctions lifted.

Russia withdraws from the territory it occupied after Feb 2022. They can keep the territories they had gained before the invasion. During serious peace talks Russia acknowledges the integrity and independence of Ukraine which is allowed to join the EU and NATO in the future. Russia is allowed to conduct normal trade with the West.

Option 2 - sanctions not lifted

Simple ceasefire is agreed. Russia keeps all the territory it has occupied. Sanctions are kept and gradually Russian economy deteriorates until it collapses one day. Citizens revolt and Russia is divided into 10-15 Russistans. China takes over Siberia. Konigsberg becomes an independent state. etc etc
