If the British want to fight for their place in Europe it has to be now. Otherwise we will become part of America.
A straight choice.

eat that crap?

Can't people cook for themselves now joker? What's wrong with Asian food? Prepared the British way, admittedly... I don't use saffron when I can't access it, and I have to clarify butter myself, but turmeric does the job almost as well.

Brexit has been the most boring topic in the news recently.

Down with Brexit! Down with the UK! Down with the Republic of Ireland! Down with Northern Ireland!

Otherwise we will become part of America.

Oh Please, Dont! My ancestors fought and won a war to get away from you Brits. Im thinking this was the best decision that was ever made.

Let your economy tank without dragging the US into it. Call your German friends the next time you need help. lol

Down with Brexit!

Im sick of hearing these babies that cant accept the results of a basic election. The biggest complainers are expats that don't even like in the UK, comical!

I just heard BOJO suspended Parliament..
hahaha😆😆😆

Nothing more "democratic" than a lying clown who was made PM by fewer than 100,000 Tories and who is now suspending parliament with the help of a royal.

Jeez, you're slow with the news joker - and posting a lot here for a Yank with "no interest either way". Anybody with half a brain knows that No Deal is an American Buy Out - and Britain will never stand for that.

Next week is going to be bloody.

Dead right,
This thread is about Brexit and how it will effect Poland.
Hardly any of the posts in this thread have even mentioned Poland.
And yet, Poland is the largest reciever of EU funds, ( Quite rightly in my opinion, as they have the greatest potential )
But Great Britain is the second largest contributor to this fund that supports Poland, after Germany.
Surely the loss of this funding will be of no advantage to Poland,

It's the reason why Poland is essentially trying to find a way to keep the UK in the EU through extra concessions, because the EU26 have made it clear that they won't be making up the difference.

No-one is really speaking about it here, but Brexit will cost Poland quite badly.

Spot on!
And I wonder why nobody is speaking about it on here.

From my perspective, it's just not that big a deal compared to other domestic issues. It might also be a degree of "well, the UK will fall, but they'll bounce back, they always do".

I can only say that I'm more concerned with German politics than British politics these days, hence why I refuse to vote in UK elections.

We know this is true.....

I'm more concerned with German politics than British politics these days

I would be too if I was living in Poland, the Germans are on the verge of recession.

Brexit will cost Poland quite badly.

And hilariously, Eastern European immigrants with British citizenship, in the majority, vote to leave.
You couldn't make it up. I know what I would say to those people.
Got to say Delph, you are a bit weird. Fukk the Germans. You are British, arent you?

And that's a scary prospect for Poland. The Polish economy is so heavily intertwined with the German one that it's bad news for us.

Scottish ;) But it's all a bit distant to me, or so it seems.

So true, and it amazes me that nobody is talking about it on PF.

This thread is about Brexit and how it will effect Poland.

I started this thread simply as an off-topic Brexit thread as it was cropping up all the time on the main forum. The Admin or Mods added Poland to the title.

I'm sure they have tipped the scale - not. Why are you so peeved about it?

Dougpol1

They got a vote in it, and I didn't (i'm only British, after all)
Britain gave them a home and they want to fukk it up for everybody else. They can have Free movement, but we can't.
Wankers. I would like to smash them in the mouth.

Why did the Queen get involved. I thought she (Royals) didn't hold any political power anymore? I wouldn't be very happy about that either.

pawian
29 Aug 2019  #1610

Why did the Queen get involved.

Think it over. The Queen didn`t want to get involved that is why she acted as she did.

Now, after rethinking, isn`t it clear?

What do you know about contemporary British monarchs` standards of ruling? Not too much, it seems. Stay tuned and learn a few things here. It is so funny when these Ams comment on British affairs..... :):)

I was asking Doug a question not you. I understand you have to be the forum "know it all" and cant resist to comment on every single thread, but I rather have a person that actually lives in the UK answer it.

pawian
29 Aug 2019  #1612

If you intended to ask Doug solely, you should have sent him a private message. Isn`t it obvious? When you asked a question in the public forum, anybody can reply to it. Isn`t it obvious?

You have a lot to learn, my dear, how to use a forum.

As for actually living in the UK to comment on its affairs, it is not necessary. One only needs to know the history of the British monarchy. I know it from my uni (passed an exam), later from our school textbooks and from sources which I did with my elder sons when they were taking part in the Olympic language competitions in their schools - they both received the prizes for top scores.

As I said - stay tuned.

Ha!

Dougpol1
29 Aug 2019  #1613

Why did the Queen get involved.

Protocol. The Prime Minister has to inform the Queen when he is going to dissolve parliament (end the parliamentary session) and she has to give her assent.

She had no real choice but agree to Johnson's request to close down parliament. She performs only a titular role and has no constitutional position.

pawian
29 Aug 2019  #1614

Joker, didn`t you really know it? What do they teach at Am schools? Only US, nothing about the world? That`s madness. Good you have the PF to gain the knowledge you missed at school.

Thats what I thought. I find British Politics fascinating but its kind of confusing.

Next week is going to be bloody.

I hope youre speaking metaphorically, are things really going to get that bad?

So true, and it amazes me that nobody is talking about it on PF.

The German economy seem sketchy at best these days. I think you would be better off with a trade deal with the USA, but not if youre going to have civil war over it.

If Bojo keeps up his antics such as the stuff he's pullin' right now before Parliament, he will have the shortest term on record:-)

But her decisions are near impossible to overule......

Nah, Doug is exaggerating again.....

I think you would be better off with a trade deal with the USA

So do I, rather than those treacherous bastards in Brussels.

Hey, it might not be such a bad thing having a Queen! I kinda of like her now, she's rubbing off on me......:):)

It only seem logical to be partners with your greatest ally. Doesn't anyone in the UK believe Brussels has your best interest, thats comical.

America first! Forgot the words of your Dear Leader already? The only thing Trump will do with the Brits is to strip them of their assets and then draw them into yet another Gulf War on behalf of Israel.
