Ludicrous panic-buying going on in my part of Warsaw today
I had a similar experience in a local supermarket here today.
Not quite as bad as you described, but whole aisles were empty.
They mainly went for tissue paper,cleaning products, tinned produce and anything with a long shelf life.
I couldn't even find a tin of tomatoes!
I have never seen this type of panic, not during the Muslim terrorist attacks nor in the IRA days.
Londoners are usually very much, "Don't panic and just carry on as normal",
But this virus has really scared them.
I am no longer throwing newspapers away as we are nearly out of toilet roll......
