Coronavirus in Poland

jon357

I am suprised there are not thousands of people begging on the streets of warsaw, or mugging people.

Yet another very clear indication that you know nothing whatsoever about Poland except what you can try to glean from google...

thousands of people begging

You should see the queues for the soup kitchens here...

You should see the queues for the soup kitchens here...

Please point me to tvn24 wyborcza etc showing this and massive increases in homelessness, hunger etc. have not seen anything on polsat news which tries to do both sides.

You think conservative Polish media are even half effective about reporting the negative things in Poland? Grow up...

have not seen anything on

An admission that your only actual awareness of Poland comes from media sources, mostly if not all, online.

You think conservative Polish media are even half effective about reporting the negative things in Poland?

I asked you about the opposition media, happy to read media that supports Lewica Razem. I don't doubt your claims about soup kitchens, just that if it's not being reported, the whole polish media class is elitist scum as far as i'm concerned.

jon357
18 Mar 2021  #5315

the opposition media

Yet you cited three broadly conservative sources that you are unable to read without using google translate. Get a grip on yourself.

Meanwhile, the Covid infection rate here has doubled in a week, something that does actually affect those of us in Poland.

TVN24 is conservative? pepelaugh i don't think you even believe the rubbish you are spouting. you've taken off your boot laces tied yourself in knots and made a debating noose for yourself i'm afraid. Oh yes of course they virtue signal on abortion, lgbt and migrants but like their PO masters are neoliberal economically to the core. Indeed why would PO, tvn24,newsweek, gazeta wyborcza and notes from poland care about soup kitchens and welfare of poles in general? why indeed.

jon357
18 Mar 2021  #5317

TVN24 is conservative

Remember, some of us can watch it and understand it in the original. Rather than just reading junk about it on the internet.

their PO masters

You need to take a reality check. The Covid crisis in Poland isn't about your unhappy teenage neuroses and their rather odd political expression; it's about people dying before their time of a new disease, it's about a tanked economy, it's about the feeble response from a failing PiS government, and most importantly, it's about hundreds of thousands of ruined livelihoods and the long-term ramifications of that and it's about the lives of millions of people here, thousands of miles away from you.

amiga500
18 Mar 2021  #5318

just one news article on soup kitchens! thats all i ask! hahahahaha hard to get the noose off once you hang yourself isin't it?!

jon357
18 Mar 2021  #5319

news article on soup kitchens ...hahahahaha

There you go again.

We aren't talking about 'news articles'; we are talking about reality.

Why would anyone depend on online 'news articles' to see what is around us?

amiga500
18 Mar 2021  #5320

So the lines to soup kitchens has increased, but begging hasn't?. Because when i suggested it you said I know nothing about Poland. Instead of engaging in a good faith argument, because you know you have been defeated intellectually, you have resorted to pointless disagreement as you're swinging from your own bootlaces. OR you're just a Grade A troll that gets off on taking the opposite view. Recollecting your disgraceful behavior on this forum with the other bitter Brit-pats i'm inclined to believe the latter.

Novichok
18 Mar 2021  #5321

it's about hundreds of thousands of ruined livelihoods

...ruined by the covid terrorists aka the government - clueless and high on power - not the covid virus. All those under 50 could have stayed working.

They were out of knobs to jerk around so they played with the only two they had - lockdowns and printing money.

i'm inclined to believe the latter.

I am inclined to say that you are correct. Just a troll, which is a compliment considering the other possibility.

jon357
18 Mar 2021  #5322

begging hasn't

Begging from whom? People locked down at home?

I know nothing about Poland

This is true. The Covid crisis isn't some online thing, some kids' video game or some sort of LARPing. It's deadly serious.

Feel free to read about it online in English, filtered through however many opinions, translated nicely and presented for your distant reading; just don't try to lecture those of us who are living through it.

Begging from whom?

Begging for food or cash - same difference.

@amiga500
The the cases cited are not related to chemical compounds and their combinations. As a long established precedent a patent can be improved upon and that improvement can also be patented and both patent holders are due a royalty. Your citation of an IP case is interesting, but not compelling as patents on compounds are not considered IP once the compound is isolated and marketed. It is only IP in the development stage. Once production begins, the ball game changes. Yes, I went to law school.

amiga500
18 Mar 2021  #5325

@polam Yes you are correct in principal in regards to chemical compounds and patent extension by slight changes of structure, formulation and dosage.
" Historians often cite 1994 as a turning point year in terms of this problem, since that was when the World Trade Organization (WTO) required member nations to extend patents to the products created through specific processes of manufacture and synthesis.

All of that googled.

*sigh*

amiga500
18 Mar 2021  #5327

yes because it is a medication that has been proven to drastically reduce corona viral load and deaths. Stop LARPing as a boot-licker and start being serious and order some ivermectin. It might save your life. Poland will be in the redzone soon , so it's not like they're going to let you in the UK to get your vaccine.

@polam mod deleted my long post even though it was mostly my own writing basically "Upon discovery of avermectins in 1981, the two parties signed an agreement covering royalties on ivermectin and any derivatives to be paid until the expiration of the last patent in 2004. " Patent extensions can only be done whilst the patent is still valid not afterwords.

because it is a medication

If Fauci didn't approve it, it's not a medication.

amiga500
18 Mar 2021  #5329

@Polam
silly Mod, he could have just removed the quotes.
Basically patent expired so no improvement for patent extension possible. , generics already being produced by everyone without paying royalties
Merck previously sold it for us1.50 a dose. ivermectin treatment for corona valued at 30usd for merck
remdesivir costs 3000usd , merck developing new patented corona anti viral that will cost similar. hence their lack of interest and peak medical and goverment body inertia. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/tmi.12759

@Novichok
Actually, during the mornings, on side streets in rynek, there is a lot more homelessness than before. A lot more people getting food in small church kitchens. A lot more people begging, but the beggars are being pushed to side streets by police. Thats really about all the police are doing publicly. Many more homeless sleeping in the park near the Grunwald monument.

As for patent extension, true, if the patent expired no direct royalty "has to be paid". However, if another patent of the compound was developed after a change in the compound, the royalty has to be paid by law until the expiration of the second patent, and if that second patent is covered by an updated third patent it can be extended again.

I really dont care about the patent side of things, someone is making money on it, that much I would bet my house on. If this guy didnt renew his patent, he is simply stupid because vet's are making a killing with this medication.

Remdesivir in Poland is actually very cheap a Dr friend of mine has some in his fridge at home just in case.

In Poland though, and I hope to focus on Poland, it is a disaster, and this medication even if for argument sake works, is not going to get approved here, and PiS is going to poop the bed again with this next lockdown. Living here, seeing it actually happen, seeing real devastation, real lives destroyed, is very hard to watch. Make no mistake this is a PiS problem now. They own all of this.

amiga500

Thanks on the info about the homeless, i am shocked and angry that this is not on the news, but that is polish amerykanski rynek mentality unfortunatly. Its their fault and they are losers that they are poor now. In Australia on first day of our first lockdown there were hundreds of people lining up outside unemployment office and it was the first thing on the news. And conservative goverment panicked and introduced job furlough scheme and quadrupled unemployment benefits.

Remdesivir in Poland is actually very cheap a Dr friend of mine has some in his fridge at home just in case.

It is not. Gilead Sciences is making a killing. it's 3000usd in the states. and it only works marginally . your doctor friend prob stole it from the hospital.

is not going to get approved here,

Its been emergency approved in Slovakia, Czech, Macedonia and Bulgaria so far. Is PiS gov more stupid than those ones? well we'll find out. A month or two and we will be able to compare the death rates from slowakia/czech with poland.

@amiga500
He has his own practice. No theft needed, simply order it. Cheap as in a few hundred USD here, I just asked. Not the same markup or sales rep commissions being paid here. Like the things I buy here, the exact same items I buy in the USA are always at least three times more expensive in USA. My American car was 10K USD cheaper to buy in Poland new than in USA. That said, I bought it right after first lockdown and got a nice deal. But it was not a give away.

Yes. PiS is the dumbest group of politicians I have seen working anywhere in the world from COVID to the economy before COVID, the tax system, ZUS operation, social welfare give away programs, and the lining of their own pockets. They make Gerald Ford look like he should be on Mt. Rushmore.

Living here, seeing it actually happen, seeing real devastation, real lives destroyed, is very hard to watch.

As a self-admitted world's worst cynic I really want to be wrong once in a while. It's not happening. There is zero doubt that governments everywhere are nothing but shakedown con men. That is why I will not stop calling them covid terrorists. The most despicable characters are the case counters, "experts", and "scientists" the boot lickers here like so much acting as their enablers.

18 Mar 2021  #5334

So, the ruling corona mob wants me to "follow the science". OK. Why then do they, through their brainless proxies, demand a mask on my face when I am not sneezing, coughing, spitting, and saying nothing? According to "science", I am then harmless and whether I am wearing that stupid "dust" cover or not means exactly zero to others - even if there were with 3 feet. I guess the obedience drill does not consider that part of science to be scientific enough.

Such useless Covid updates on 'Long Haulers' that I mentioned here almost a year ago.
Some people who have contracted Covid, and not even known it, still continue to have these symptoms many months afterwards.
I have been to five different 'doctors' in the last year and still no cures or relief.

Not good. People are talking a lot about long Covid and it seems nasty.

I'm not looking to doubt you here, but could it be anything else with similar symptoms?

It doesn't work.

you have to do your own work

Like I have said from the very beginning of this thread and several times since in it, "It is every man for himself".
I am glad someone finally sees it like I have from the get go of it.
Thank you so much my friend for the youtube as I appreciate all the knowledge that I can gather on this sunject.
A couple of the doctors that I went to were amazed at how informed I was on this subject.
They even admitted that I knew more about it then they did.
I just keep pushing myself with cardio exercising three times a day, lots of fresh air and sunshine.
I want to thank you again amiga500 as this thread could be a very informative one if it weren't for the egotists that demand to take it off topic.
