Because over my long life the health care system has done a lot more damage to my body than they have good.
I have been blatantly lied to by doctors so in essence I trust none of them.

Health Care today is all about money, not your personal health like it was in the old days when the doctor came to your home to treat you.

Now that pharmacies on every corner in America, are offering walk in vaccinations of different kinds, I will choose the Johnson & Johnson and get one next week.

When I called the Health Department here and ask if they had the J&J last week they told me and I quote; "Yes, we have the J&J but we have a lot of the Pfizer that needs to be refrigerated so we want to use that up first" !

If you have a working brain that answers your question of which is the safest ones.
They give the rDNA ones to the old people first (55 and older) to experiment with first and next will be giving the safe J&J to the younger breeding aged people.

Pay attention as it is every man for himself.
And before some a-hole goes off topic how I am not in breeding age, I also don't want to be used as an experiment.

The point is that you yourself rather than a health care system should be taking care of your body.

What the point of all those vaccination if they keep lookdowns in place and curtail travel at the same time.

Well, all about the numbers of course. Until a significant chunk of the population have had it, its not going to make much difference. However I think you will find that in another month or 2 things will be more relaxed. People are forgetting that the warmer weather does have an impact.

I see the BBC are getting rather carried away to suggest that its unlikely there will be any foreign travel from the UK this year because of the third wave. I know these variants might have an effect but in late Spring/early summer last year things weren't too bad and that was without a vaccine. True, I would be wary of booking a holiday for May but by the time July comes round there should be few issues. There needs to be a doubling or perhaps tripling of the vaccination rate thou in most countries such as Poland.

Last year everything was open in May. I expect the same this year. With vaccines this is likely the last of the strict lockdowns. I am assuming even with vaccine, we will get covid warnings much like we get smog warnings now and masks will be required from time to time. I am guessing less than 8 weeks till things a pretty close to normal like last year.

yes they will appear variants resistant to these vaccines, and new vaccines will be developed. Then virus will continue to mutate, so you will have annual flu like vaxxes. I pity the poor npc who bought the narrative that after this vaccine all will return to normal

Krakow is laid back for the most part. Went out to wine bar last night, and no issues. Some of the other cities though, the reports and photos are pretty bad. I just learned the other day a person can be charged for "insulting" a police officer. LMAO Insulting a police office? Really? I have to ask if the courts in Poland has said the lockdown measures are illegal and in many different jurisdictions, that if calling one of the officers trying to enforce an illegal restriction an "idiot" if that is insulting? I would call it a statement of fact, sometimes facts can be insulting I guess.

The BBC had a picture today of ul. Piwna in the Warsaw starowka. Completely empty. We were out in the starowka during the 'between period' last summer and so many places had just gone.

Yeah I fully expect that by May things will be open again certainly. I read somewhere that they are expecting the cases to stop rising around the end of this month and decline again in April. Foreign tourism however might take a while to return to normal levels however.

Britain outdistancing other European countries.... some in Ireland don't like it....

Last year tourism did not start to come back until July. I expect it to be later this time as most f the tourists were UK, and I don't see them rushing back this time. Krakow wide open without tourists though is simply the best place to spend time in summer. I accept that side effect.

I wouldn't go to Poland if they paid me. The risk of getting trapped for months is too high.

True but that doesn't mean that many UK tourists will want to do that, especially as most Brits are likely to get at least their 1st jab by the summer and international flights resuming from May. Not sure how many will be heading to Poland but I suspect France and Spain will have plenty of UK tourists by July and August. I can't see many being prepared to postpone their hols abroad for the 2nd year.

Foreign airlines are still going in and out of the UK of course, however it would be a bad thing if they start asking people their reason for travel and preventing people leaving.

No one knows how long they are good for and ultimately the longterm effects they will have on people.
